Wave 4 of Closed Beta invites on 8/14

Just an fyi that we'll be sending out another round of Issue 16 Closed Beta invitations tomorrow afternoon (Friday) 8/14 at approximately 2PM Pacific / 5PM Eastern.

Please make sure that your Junk email filters allow emails from : support@plaync.com

Next week, we will most definitely still be in Closed Beta, and we plan to invite an additional wave or two then.

I'll start spamming my email refresh button now just in case

If we don't get the e-mail, but are invited, will we be able to log in?

I haven't gotten any support e-mails while sending petitions for a while, so I've just been logging in to test to see if I got access.

Some emails from support do come, and the provider has no spam block settings, so I can't guess why I am not getting replies to petitions.

If you're invited, then the hidden forums will appear for you beneath the regular forums. That's an easier way of checking than trying to log in.

Unless, of course, things have changed since the I11 beta...

Heh, I almost wish I didn't know more beta invites were going out, as I'm now going to start watching my inbox like a very nervous, jumpy hawk.

Ghost Falcon, if by some bizarre chance, my name is in the pool for Wave 4, please give my slot to Leandro (if he's not already in the closed beta). I know when I-14 rolled around, he somehow got missed, and God knows if anyone should be in the beta, it's him.

I'm just a video hack. Leandro's a beta tester.

I thought the beta invites were going to the highest vets first!!??

I have been logged into game since day 1, and I haven't gotten a beta email or access yet. Wow did I misunderstand! Or did I?

how is it decided who gets invites is it random or select?

As little chance as I know this has of working: Please consider me for beta my beloved Dev Team? *Puppy Eyes* I've got so many power ideas I want to play with that I'd be testing out most everything like a FIEND, and being the exploration buff that I am I'd be testing out hazard zones with low-levels to see if there's anything buggy there. Just keep me in mind.

Shameless ploy aside I do really hope that some of the people with more active subscriptions get picked after all that I've heard of people who've been gone for months/years getting invites for some reason.

The early waves of closed beta has always been based on a simple question...who do they think they will give the best feedback for the things they want tested. The "guaranteed beta test access" (for Herocon, for example), comes later, once things have settled down.

And no, I'm not in (yet). I was in the Mac closed beta and the original AE closed beta (perhaps in part because my desire for both features has been widely known). I'd like to be in this wave, but if I'm not, well, that's life.

As for the value of asking to be added..."because I really really want it" isn't going to do much, because it's almost a given. "Here's why I will be a very good tester for this" might be of value, but couldn't say for sure.

During the I15 clopen beta there was a post (sorry didn't look for it) that mentioned those who give lots of legitimate feedback would be looked at as candidates for the I16 beta. Other than that who knows how they select people. Magic 8 ball? Dart board with global names? Lottery?

Was there a post about how those who gave legitimate feedback that was then not acted upon in any way, shape or form and then grumbled about it a bit, would be forever banished from Closed Beta?
