Wave 4 of Closed Beta invites on 8/14
Wish they'd set some guidelines out for who is elligible, etc. I'm not going to rant about feeling robbed, etc, since I know there's people that have been around much longer than myself (51 months vet badge, on and off since I3) and people that play more than myself (only have 4 50s).
The only closed beta I've ever been in was CoV, which felt more like a "clopen" beta, in that you could buy your way in.
Just goes to show how excited we all are about this issue I suppose, heh.

Take your time getting out my closed beta invite...
I'm thoroughly enjoying the beta event for Aion. That game is *way* better than I expected... I mean *WAY* better.

The part that bothers me is that I will have to keep my account avtive for this game to test GR...and I do not lie when I say that this game has gotten very boring and with AE very undesireable...
Im seeing that I havent logged in as often as I used to and I am not enjoying myself as I used to. I sure do hope that GR makes a bold new era in this thing called....ingame content...I swear if there is an AE building in Praetoria I will be going WoW and CO...most likely the latter no matter how horrible it might be...

At least the devs don't send you email saying "you're eligible to sign up for closed beta" and then never invite you to closed beta... I've had that happen with several new game releases - given them all the info they request and gotten SCADS of junk email about the new games that I never actually got into the closed beta for ...
One of those games was an NCSoft release...
And no, I didn't cry or have a tantrum. Just unsubbed from the junk mail eventually when it became clear that was all I was going to ever get.
I've since realized that I'm not really cut out to be a good beta tester. I like to play, not get bogged down in details of what works and what doesn't and documenting those details. I can't wait until I16 goes to LIVE.

but.. if you're just a casual player... why do you want to be a beta tester? Just so you can see things a few weeks before other people?
I've been in a closed Beta or two.. they're not that exciting.. lot's of broadcast spam with people asking the same question over and over..
Douse anyone know why this is a closed beta in the first place?
Because it's not an 'update' it's Issue 16, and the Open/Closed Beta for I15 was a pretty good indications as to why they do Closed Beta's for the Issues.
No, that's the purpose of the training room in general. I mean why is this a "closed" update. Most of the update test in the training room aren't closed.

I think the reason had to do with improving the initial signal-to-noise ratio, but I could be misremembering.
