Dealing with something gets the game nowhere. And yes it is on me to think something that cost something would act as Ninja run. Just because you say it won't change does -not- mean it will not, the player base does not all think like you, and it does not think like myself (even though most of them can't pay the $15 to access the forums)

This is not a simple request, it is an exponential increase in time and work for every new animation that is put into the game.
To my knowledge every movement power stops movement animations to play a power animation, though I can see that weapons would require a myriad (though the running animation doesn't chaNge it'S animation) of new animations, what I'm getting at is the why not? Why limit the players to ONLY non combat? You're repeating the same thing many have said: "it fluff" "Only for RP" "not necessary" " you want this done yesterday". I only want this worked on piece by piece but on the back burner. Though you are wrong it's not asking for the world, just a bit of diversity. I mean I can settle with walk (as it isn't a bought "fluff power) being the only one to no suppress powers, and I know there would be a wave of "well if walk doesn't why can't X" when you can respond to that with "Well X is one the back-burner" I'm glad I actually got an informed non snarky response, and honored a red name even bothered to post here. Simple request I would like a revamp of walk have that announced to be on the back burner, than you can move on to the others. Alot of players would be happy with this slow change, and it would allow more diversity amongst them.

  6. Hm, seems everyone here is using the "time and money" excuse for the developers. If we apply this time and money excuse for everything: many things would be improved at all, and many missions would hand out unbalanced rewards. If we were to compromise on the time and money idea, changing Walk would require the least amount of time and money, let alone coyote taking less amount of time due to things already in the works.

It's amazing when most of these people think I want this change "NAO" but in reality I know kinks need to be worked out, the point of this was to request simply to put it on the "backburner".

I should have known better to come to the forums, but the all omnipotent developers pay more attention to this than the in-game support tab.

You're absolutely welcome for my time...

I dont even need to mention the coyote, it's not the same skeleton to begin with, forget using powers and the Devs cannot allow us to fight with even only some power on the board / carpet and only bite people to death while in coyote form, someone WILL [censored] about it, it's 100% guarantied.

The "only affecting self" was only a way to keep our toggles one while using the travel power, not because my character need to concentrate or whatever. "Only affecting self" means "cannot activate any other powers" if that actually works anyway.
Hm true, But aloowing power to be used in walk/board/carpet, but not allow coyotes to use brawl would raise even more hell. And to the only affecting self, flying faster/becoming intangible requires ALOT of concentration by magic/mutation/science/natural standards, and for technology it would require most of your power-equipments power reserves. People think I ask for god more, or use ridiculous examples like "WOuld a coyote stand on it's ind legs and paw at the opponent" or "allowing the COyote to use brawl would be imbalanced" However you are raising good questions that allow me to think and work on this idea.

If you are going to complain about game mechanics don't make up or twist the facts. When you do that people will call you on it just as they have done here.

And if you don't like people disagreeing with your, "complaints" as you call them, then you should send them directly to the devs via private message. When you post openly in the forums you have no authority to dictate who responds.

With any of them toggled your character simply stand straight up and then can go on to any combat animations.

On the other end, on the board and carpet your character keep the same pose and must do so because most powers animation start from a different one. And then there's the powers with more moving around like any of the jumps in martial art, spring attack, foot stomp, fault, the punch attack in electric melee, lightning rod, shield charge, etc... where our character prance around a lot. How do you animate this while stuck on a board? or while turned into a canine?

That's the problem with allowing combat while using the second group of travel powers, the Devs would need to revisit every single animation for every single power in the game and do so again for every single fancy travel powers. Quite an undertaking.

I honestly wish we could still keep our toggles on, and get into the "only affecting ourselves" stance like hibernation or phase shift do. I suppose there's some technical problem I dont see with this...

Yeah, why the hell cant we have more [censored] storage damnit... Edit the containers and multiply the capacity by 100 for Pete's sake.
Aha! finally a second one who raises a good point, though lightning rod and spring attack cannot be activated when in flight, Foot stomp was covered earlier, You can hit people avove you, why not all around you? and with the lower that cause you to jump, rebalancing quickly isn't impossible, Lightning rod/shield charge teleports you and your clothing so why not the board along with it? Just because you character strikes a pose on a board does not mean they cannot return to it. As for coyote, I covered this: It could make sense to only give is a bate animation brawl, and walk as you become an animal. Now the "Only Efffecting self makes sense only for powers that require complete concentration like affterburner (you focus everything to fly fast)

You're right, walk is priority one on this list of my; as it makes no sense to deny the use of powers only due to the fact you reduce your pace.

The only thin that annoys me about you is this "It's working as intended so no one has the right to complain." Sire/madam, I have a right to complain as I am a paying customer, my input is just as good as yours. Why should -anyone- complain about -anything-. Don't make statements about what should be "easy" to code. The devs have specifically stated that these powers work this way because of the amount of time that it would take to create new animations (and yes, they would be new animations). Beast/Ninja Run aren't the same because while they are animations themselves like the Flying Carpet and Hover Board, you don't maintain the positions when your powers animate. Instead you just play a different animation, then return to your previous animation. That won't work quite as well for an animation involving something that is meant to be another object (the board/carpet would just vanish while your power animates, then reappear when it's done), hence the requirement of a metric pantload of new animations. It has nothing to do with the devs' magical fantasyworld of "intent" where everyone shall play the game as They demand (and that is certainly an issue in some areas of the game), it's purely a matter of practicality.

You're wrong. Sorry. This is where you go "oh well" and let it die.

Oh but that's right, I'm just being "snarky", so it doesn't matter what I say, because it's impossible to be correct and derisively mock someone's ridiculously wrong opinions at the same time.
I never said it was easy, I said that it could be group in with the inconvenient issues (map bug, tray clear, etc.), or set for a schedule to be worked on later. And I never mocked you, you -were- in fact the first to provide a well though out statement, however snarky refers to -how- you choose to say someone. Now, going "Oh well." and giving up allows for developers/designers/implementers to think they can push around paying customers.

Now why should I and anyone else "just deal" with -anything- we pay for? That's like buying a tire that has a leak, and going "Welp, we'lll refill this later" I'm sorry if I unintentionally got on your bad side.

Let's look at Beast Run, Ninja Run, Steam Pack, GvE semi jetpack, and the 30 day jetpack. The rules of nullification aren't applied to those, but under what these people are saying they should. Now let's go into a hypothetical and say they decided to do so.

Hm, this picture provides no information on if the snowball had and object inside ( only contact with ground/surface/etc.), now let's apply this logic a game where even dominators can take a clip of bullets with no problem and pedestrians are immortal.

You want Walk/Hoverboard (and I assume Flying Carpet and Cyote Travel as well) to be changed because clicking them shuts down other powers. Now There are two points I'm confused about. I'll outline them below:

    1) You do not explain how you want these powers to be changed above or beyond the ability to use other powers while the previous mentioned powers are active. While this sounds to be a simple point, it leave considerable details unaddressed. I will go into more detail shortly.

    2) When you say the inference seems to be that you are clicking the power in question when you intended to click a different power. So... why not just put the travel power on a different tray? You get ten of them after all.

Now back to point 1. I know it sounds simple to just say "Let me use [insert power name] while I'm walking/flying my carpet/running as a coyote/riding my hover board." But to what effect? If it's an attack power does it hit harder? Is it more likely to miss? How will it look?

Lets say I'm using the Cyote travel power and I go to use brawl. Does the Coyote jump up on it's hind legs and punch the target in question with it's paw? Some how that doesn't seem to be very effective.

Lets say I'm using hover board and I go to use Foot stomp. Well number one how do I use foot stomp when I'm in the air? and number two if I am using it, it would seem like I'd be foot stomping my board. So what happens when I do this?

Before I could put any support behind this request I would want to see these points addressed.

As for my counter point to this request: I do not see the benefits of changing a series of powers to access to over 580+ (I stopped counting after 580) other power because you do not wish to look at the power tray before clicking the power, or moving the problematic power to a different tray to avoid the problem all together, to be worth the investment of man-power on the part of Paragon Studios. There are other more vital problems to address in the game.

Some examples of these more vital problems I can think of:
    • The glitch where the Holiday Powers clear your power tray
    • The Tailor problem with Mace Mastery
    • The Fog of war Resetting on various maps
Oh and lets not forget the problems with the Custom Characters used in the AE and the previous purchased items on the Paragon Market problems.

I can appreciate your frustration at the event you have described, but I do not feel that the incident in question should require the man-power that you are asking for to correct it when there are already simple answers that you can undertake with out the Developers involvement.
    Points:

    1. I never said just I am having this issue many people do. I did not say Coyote needs to be changed but a kick or bit attack for a brawl attack would make sense. Foot Stomp: How do you use it even do damage to the knocked down adversaries, if it's from the knockdown how do you increase this, why don't knockback powers like gust do additional damage when enemies impact? And many metals are made in the CoX world to resist high pressure even to the degree super strength.
    2. To make powers available to use/keep powers toggled, Coyote should not (the exception of walk/brawl) as you change yourself, though brawl could easily be changed into a bite attack.

To express equal want and need for a fix to the inconvenient problems at hand now, this could be grouped in with these as this is also inconvenient and people paid money for these "fluff powers" We already pay for incarnate, xp boosts, and Invention sets

None of the powers you are complaining about are required to play the game. They were only added to flesh out character concepts. They are purely fluff, just like the snowball power that does no damage.
And to get to my response to character concepts, you've actually quoted that.
And snowballs to my knowledge do no health damage in real life, even cartoon life. Adding an object for character concepts, and making them unable to be used when a character concept includes using in combat is oxymoronic. Furthermore making them not required, cost a fee, and making them stop all power use is even worse.

Furthermore if you haven't noticed they have added more travel powers that work the exact same way, and even more variations are in development or are soon to be released.

These are cosmetic/thematic/RP powers that grant players greater freedom in customizing their character concepts. They were never intended for use in combat. Thus the ability to use attacks or defenses were never coded into them.
I would think that Coyote would be the only "cosmetic" as it changes your model. But to address your thematic and RP rebuttal many people role play cocky/fearless characters that would gladly toy with their victim (walking), use a magic carpet for maneuverability in combat, or in fact need to used a jet pack/hover-board for moving around quickly while in combat (Example: Silver Surfer. With this area I would understand something that confined the entire body to restrict movement however the aforementioned do not. as I do role-play.

Thank you for your feedback, even though a tad on the snarky side. They -could- require new animations, though with hover-board and magic carpet you are standing on a flat surface and all powers use this and off the ground animations. Not much has to be changed. Now what rules state an idea and tally of people who agree with said idea are illegal?

I mean if we can run/super speed/ninja run/fly/jump/super jump/run like a ninja throw a punch/shoot/heal/buff and land, then why can't we walk and use our powers? It doesn't seem to be one huge coding problem since we can fly without any trouble. If there is a canon reason, I'd -love- to hear it, and so would he rest of us!
