Sugar Rush, empathy/energy - left at 41 while I levelled a fire tank from 1 to 50 until I could summon the enthusiam to go back and level her to 50. 
Limelight, rad/rad - left at 41 while I levelled 2 scrappers and a controller to 50...still haven't summoned the enthusiam to go back. 
Played loads of defenders into the teens and deleted them, have a few skulking in the 20s; they used to be my AT of choice - if there were more teams around, then they probably still would be.
currently a lvl 39 Emp/Dark, going to be taking energy epic for power boost although thinking of respeccing into a grand master setup i thought about... prob fail horribly always does lol

Cold/Ice - 50 - Fabulous fun, one of my favorites.
Sonic/Sonic - 33 - not as fun as the cold but not as soul destroying as the emp :P

I must say, i never thought that a defender could deal such good damage as my storm/sonic does. I tear trough mishes like my brute. Bosses are no problem (except sometimes rikti chief mezmerists). Very happy with this toon and i cant wait to get him to 50 asap.

Currently my only Defender is a FF/Sonic concept character... sitting at 15 due to lack of teams. 
He may well be my favourite character, once he's levelled and whatnot. I do enjoy playing him... but never alone.
