  1. I have had it on several characters now, where I have been logged of as either a Vigilante (in the Rogue Isles) or as a Rogue (in Paragon City) in a Day Job location and when I have logged back in (and have been offline for over 21 days), the bar is full but the badge has not been awarded.

Has the AI been changed so that you can no longer get the Day Job badge unless you are either a hero in Paragon, or a Villain in the Rogue Isles....?

    Any thoughts?
  2. After 2 days speaking to Tech Support, I am no closer to getting my download sped up. Their conclusion is that my ISP is the problem, which is strange, seeing as I have had no problems with them over the last 3 years.... typical cop out.

Support cannot work out what the issue is so they blame an ISP, not seen that before (from other ppl posting over the years - add more sarcasm if desired)

I'll be very annoyed, if the verifying takes the same amount of time...

Left on all last night and only went up by 30%....
  3. Has anyone else experienced a very slow down load speed on the new issue.

I started the download client yesterday at 7pm, 4 hours later i had downloaded 14%.
At this rate I might be able to play CoX again by the Mid Oct, if i am lucky (add sarcasm here)

My broadband has never been slow, so wondering why this Issue is proving to be a nightmare.
Currently at 31%... after a full day (8am-6pm (minus the powersave))...

    AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!
  4. *Do not demand Influence from anyone, ask politely...(if you have too)

*Do not under any circumstances try to copy an exisiting comic character... in terms of costume.... very sad

*Read, then reread, then reread it again... until you understand (don't grind straight away)

*Ask questions, but don't go overboard. Once you know the basics, everything else generally slots into place.

*Don't send blind invites to anyone, send them a /tell first.

*Join an active SG, they will help you so much more than soloing alone...

All GM's show as purple, and IIRC are at least +5 to your current level. Not many people (if any at all) can take a GM down solo...

  7. In the past (like many others) I have set binds that show which of my current character's I am playing, in server channels. For example Defiant Events : (Nine Claws:50).

Now that this channel has changed to Defiant Events EU, I need to change the bind, so that I can type my message without having to scroll left each time, to add EU into the original bind.

I can remember using prompts such as /chansend, begin chat, $target, $level, bind * but cannot remember exactly what to put and where to put it, any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
  8. Thanks all... was getting pretty frustrated, thought it was me, as been offline for 3 weeks. Just sent support an email too, oh well... will ignore their reply....

Off to watch some TV then...
  9. Every time I try to log into the game at the password screen I get the following message :-

"The game client was unable to connect to the login server. This may be due to a local network issue such as a firewall block, or may be because the login server is down for maintenance. Please check your network settings and try again, or check the website for server status"

    Server status is green.
Good connection strength to the network
    Standard internet working fine.
Have made CoX an exeption on my firewall, so that is not blocking it.

Been offline for 3 weeks during house move, have same company supplying broadband as previous house (sky), new router etc.. and still no joy.

Any suggestions to what I should try next???

have to heavily disagree here.. I have a Sony Vaio which has intel integrated graphics.... I had an initial crashing problem that would occur, after a maximum of 20 minutes playtime, but after I sorted out the drivers it has been running sweet as a bell.

The really bad times only have been on multi-player events like rikti attacks or raids on the ship in RWZ, when the lagg has made my comp slower than a snail... but doesn't crash.

I imagine it depends on the laptop, but you can't go wrong with ATI Radeon. Never had problems on my desktop with then, even if they were older cards...

I'd like to know too, as I haven't seen either for ages... and have fought both groups recently.

[edit]Paragonwiki shows thunder clap and lighting storm as available powers for storm shamens. Wiki also states that "all" devoured can summon "devouring swarms" but doesn't show a date of when last updated.

  15. Passed 600 recently on my main, but haven't been seriously badging for ages now.

Could easily get to 650, if I could be bothered to get the new exploration badges, and all the arena fight badges, still haven't got Lanista.. let alone any other ones.

Going Rogue is going to give die hard Badgers kittens... the time and effort required to get to 1000 is going to be pure mental!

Personally I think that Necro/Poison is pretty good... especially solo, as it's possible to heal your kamikaze zombies, before they die.

Other MM is Thugs/FF... slower to level, as forcefields take forever to apply if you haven't got a macro set up, which I haven't.

Must be my playstyle then, because I find my Kat/DA scrapper as probably the weakest one I have, especially at level 50.

I personally think that DM/Shield is a good one... great fun to play aswell.

DB/SR isn't bad... but faceplant on him, as haven't maxed the build out.

And my original is pretty good at handling himself (Claws/Regen), however there is a big argument for /Invul, especially if you want to be a scranker rather than a scrapper.

As for how the archetype should be played, I've been playing since beta. I think I can decide for myself how to play my favorite archetype based on my own experience without being swayed by bumper sticker slogans and well-intentioned rules of thumb.
You obviously didn't read the last line of my post that said..... "Just my Opinion!".

How anyone plays their scrapper is upto them, and yes scrappers can handle themselves on their own easily. I have no problem handling big mobs solo on any of my scrappers.

The point I was making was that tankers are best at tanking... especially in full teams. In smaller teams, Scrankers are just as effective as Tanks, and certainly have better damage output, as stated my someone else earlier.
  19. I would vote for /Regen... first 50 and still play him tons.
/SR is ok for my stalker...

and when everyone else says /Invul as it's good for tanking.... surely a scrapper shouldn't be used as a tank in a group anyway, that's not how the archetype should be played.... leave tanking to tanks I say.

Scrappers are there to pick off the enemies on the edges of skirmishes, whilst the tank taunts them. Scrankers get more buddies killed than Scrappers doo, as they have an inferiority complex to Tankers.

    Just my opinion..!

  22. I have a Sony Vaio Laptop VGN-NS30E, which has Vista rather than Windows. My Ram is 3GB and I have a Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4200 (2Ghz). The graphics are via an integrated chip.

The problem is my laptop and the game aren't seeing eye to eye. I can generally get 20 minutes game play in 1 go, but not much more, as the game freezes then I get the Crash dump box. Which means that I have to reverify the files before I can play again.

Are there any simple things that I could do, to improve my gameplay.

    Any help would be appreciated.
  23. Tried to download that from your link Coolio, but keeps saying that the application is damaged or incomplete. Must be doing something wrong.... do you need to download the original game first?
  24. Rather than just putting the original disc into my new laptop, and waiting a miilion years for it to be uploaded (as have the deluxe game version, inc. all the subsequent patches), is there a faster way to achieve this?

My new laptop is a Mac compared to my windows run pc, but I have already purchased the mac edition add on, so that I could get the mystic fortune power etc, so I don't see that being an issue!

    Any constructive advice welcome. Thanks
