The only thing that springs to mind is a stalker on low health using placate, wait till hidden, then resting.
Rest becomes the most pheared powah in PvP!
I wonder if heavily slotted rest will regenerate enough HP per minute for a tank to taunt a mob, then rest in front of it to tank? Would need health and interrupt enhancements in it. :P

There can only be 3/4 fully viable uses for it in a duel.
1) debuff you opponent and stack purples on, so they cant hit you. Eye of magus would be good for this too. Wouldnt work against a blaster though, and very risky in general.
2) have some form of invis and be fighting an opponent without perception.
3) slow them enough so that they can't move into position quickly enough to attack you.
4) be able to make your opponent intangible, eg sonic cage, but this won't really get you anywhere.
It can't be used with any intangibility powers or pff, so I see no other use whatsoever apart from these. Apart from resting after killing your opponent, but that doesn't really count. If there's something I'm missing though, I'll happpily duel your corrupter and you can show me the magic

All those 4 are unlikely to work really.
It would depend what AT you would want to duel my corr with that would depend if I could use it in the duel or not. And would also depend how the fight went. If you read back, I tell you what percentage of fights it would be useful in and I also mention the AT restrictions.

Besides, how many of his posts get eventually locked or deleted anyway? They only last as long as it takes Bridger to see that he's posted yet again and is once more insulting people then acts incredulous that people respond to anything he posts in such a fashion.

OT though, I was in SC the other night with my Stalker. As per usual, there was another stalker claiming greatness in broadcast because he could AS a lone hero easily, and a group of heroes screaming about how it's cheap and that a stalker wouldn't dare try and take a hero in a group without AS.
So I run in, hit BU, Bone Smasher, Energy Transfer, Placate and get taunted. TAUNTED?! Good play to the tank, but man was I annoyed. This spawned a bit of a conversation in Broadcast about how Stalkers can scrap a squishy down without AS if they're quick, the other Stalker slinked off.
I just love the misconception that Stalkers really only have AS to kill people with, it's the AT's biggest character flaw really.
Hehe, Xanthus' screams of rage over TS last night were fun - he had Assassin Striked Golden Girl, hit placate ready for the finish off, when I taunted him

How effective are Stalkers at taking down tanks anyways? Is the AS enough to make tankers raise their eyebrows? Or do they stand there and go "'tis but a scratch!" Monty-Python-Black-Knight stylee?

At 38 (or 36, can't quite remember), I can hit 1100 HP on my AS whilst at the Damage Cap.
Not always there, mind, but I guess in the right circumstances I can level enough HP to make a tank take notice. It was more fun when AS dropped all toggles mind.

Well AS can make me raise an eyebrow, even both of em on occasion on White Sentinel (My Fire/EM Tank) Had a great laugh in SC yesterday or the day before with a Stalker ASing me and me hitting heal and taunt then failing to deal enough damage before said stalker poofed out of sight, really enjoyed it as we exchanged tells between jousts

Yup that is a big mistake to make Stalkers AS is scary to be sure but any good Stalker will have more than one string to their bow. Never assume your opponent can only do one thing, its a reciepe for humiliation and a quick hossie trip
