I had one today.. a blaster always bugs me now in Siren's, was in Warburg, was on his Stalker today.. got mouthy over Broadcast.. and asked him to "come to me" and we'll 'discuss' it. (My level 38 Stalker and his level 32 Stalker)
Kept on goading me to tell him where I was, my reply "here and there", he thought it was a joke and got sarcastic.. pfft his mistake.. I was too busy hunting him, as I told him..
"What he needs to think about it, who's hunting who?!"
It ended quickly..
Hidden/Stealth-Total Focus > Placate > AS (as he tries to run away).
I get called a n00b cause he was typing when I dropped him, yet I didn't see no AFK msg and even then he was meat for the kill, it was a PvP zone.. not my problem, and not my fault his build lets me see him clearly, and he can't see me at all.

...makes me wonder sometimes about my use of BC in PvP zones, and I'm thankful to see there are people WORSE than I have been, but I get over it.. I have fun.. as I did dropping his [censored] down.
Suffice to say, it gives me a new insight into how I have and other people act in PvP zones, slagging people down, how people's lives seem to revolve around PvP, yet slag people down for playing PvE, and not being very good at PvP -- which leads to people either doing the same, or looking at PvP badly and not wanting to do it at all.
Suffice to say I know why I can act a lil bad in PvP Zones towards people, but I ask myself, where does that come from.. most likely such people who do it alot, and "help" people follow they're bad example.

I got an incredibly amount of (rather explicit) abuse in Warburg the other night because I three shotted a Brute. Now, the reason of the abuse?
He could be bothered to turn his toggles on after zoning in to WB. Sorry, if you stand still long enough for me to get BU>AS>Placate>Total Focus>Energy Transfer off on you, then you've enough time to toggle up. Hell, you've got 30 seconds of immunity to do so!
I then killed the MM he was 'dualing' against, who wasn't running Bodyguard. More abuse. I miss the one shotting of squishies. :<

Yes.. that excuse was used, as i was 'hunting' about.. my reply was simple::

If people are going to Duel in a PvP Zone, then they will have to accept the fact 'someone' will come along and "intervene".
Warburg is Free-For-All.. simple as. And as a rule I've learn't from people, you seen an opening... take it.

That i can understand on live servers, but during the test server weekend where people could level upto 40, people in 8 man teams ganked complete loners. What could be the result of that testing i dont know, the point of getting pvp ratings isnt there on test so do they go "this build is great i can beat that brute with 7 people in my team to help me!"?

Surprisingly enough.. they do alot on Live.. they slag u down, put u off, but never mention the fact about that Empath CMing them, or the Controller Holding you, or the Tanker than just taunted you from a distance..

My Brute is werry werry squishy, and sometimes feel like I really shouldn't be in the zone against people with proper PvP At's/Builds - I banged skulls with a /storm controller inWarburg one time, who dropped snow storm on me - suddenly I was slowed and unable to hit owt, so I took my personal favourite option, and ran away - I was in energy cloak with SS on, so quite safe from surrounding mobs, but got told I shouldn't have run past the Hercules titans, because the snow storm had aggroed them onto the controller. Teehee.

Bizarrely enough, I used it last night in a fight against a scrapper. However, this was not the use I was on about, though it worked well, I recovered my endurance and then beat the living snot out of him ( I was playing as my corr).
As for the other uses....well, you'll just have to keep guessing. It does require some thinking outside of the box though. Here is a clue though...the fact that it is such a bad move - is what works to its advantage.
Now I can't give any bigger clues than that. I already told someone the answer.

Only thing I can thing of are on a blaster. Rest, take some hits, BU+aim, out of rest at as near to full defiance as possible, 2 shot for the win.
Incredibly risky, bordering on criminally stupid, but might get you a win, maybe.

If you remember, I was very specific about what AT's could use it and against what ATs too. The circumstances need to be right as well.

You obviously haven't dueled enough. I've seen rest used to great effect in a duel before. I won't go into detail as it will spoil the surprise as to when it can be used. Its the sort of think that only works once though.

As you said BJB, I think that is what bobthedemon would do but only himself can comment. As well as not being useful for 99% of fights, im sure the success rate is about the same as its usefulness (1%).
Its good to think outside the box but I dont think using rest to win a dual (majority of circumstances) will catch on. I think if you try all you are gonna win is a free trip to the hospital

Back on track.
As a dominator in BB last night, a stalker asks if I want to help "kill the annoying hero" (lvl 50 spine scrapper of some sort). I sure do! I hit domination, hold him, stalker hits AS, jobs a good un'
Then we get called loosers, cheats, and other less savoury words on broadcast. Turns out the other villains "wanted to see a scrapper and stalker duel" and were keeping count (plus they deducted points for the stalker "cheating"). Thing is, as far as I can tell, the stalker couldnt have given a monkeys about duelling, and that the whole duel scenario was in the heads of the specatators (and maybe the scrapper). 
PvP gets stranger everyday in BB.

Regarding the rest thing, the only obvious way I can think of is to set yourself up as bait in a buch of tripmines/poison traps you set up previously. Obviously this would only really work on melee characters, and you'd need to come up with a convincing reason why you'd need to rest for it to be anything other than a big "I'm luring you into a trap" sign.

But even then, a melee character has to come close anyway so why increase the risk to yourself for no reason when simply standing there will have the same purpose?
Also, it's not the smartest idea if using when you have a character held and trying to rest. By the time the actual rest period kicks in after the delay, they'll be close to getting out of the hold and hitting you if they're clicking away on attack and killing you thanks to the -RES rest gives.
If anyone was to duel me and use rest in the middle of a fight, I'll be more than happy to take the rep point off them as only a complete fool will not be able to take advantage of it.

I have rested in fights Vs melee, rad debuffs locked on, ton of grav stacked on them so they are going nowhere very slowly, jump up somewhere, rest, recover end and go back in.

Took my main into Siren's for the first time in ages tonight. Teamed with a tank that had a problem getting teleported. He wasn't while i was there lol. Had some good fights, mainly against 3 stalkers that worked well together. After everyone had gone I went one on one with a Energy/Energy Brute. Had a little End Drain competition. That was a good fight too and hats off to the brute for not running when he was low on health with no endurance.
