Hmm well this is my first post in here, but I have a dark/regen scrapper (level 27) newly respecced into a 'sort-of PvP Build', and went to go try her out in Sirens Call last night.... and well peculiar person I met and strange events (may not be "that" funny 
)
I call the story.. (Note: The title is not what I did, but this person's bind, which i shall elaborate on)
"Gank Gank Gank Gank Gank (ad infinitum)"
I run into Siren's Call and see a gathering of heroes patrolling the area, and a mini argument going on over broadcast, I explore the area to hear a certain stone brute and a stalker friend of his screaming about how they were 'ganked' and having a bind of
Gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank gank..!
Continuing on, I saw the mini gathering of heroes (around 5/6 of them) and watched amazed what happened following.
Super Brute runs behind group, creeping around buildings and usually gets noticed by two of the group or so. Immediately after a few hits he either runs or as more of the hero team come to fight, then fights.
Two results happen from these 'clashes'
Either
a) Brute runs away and slags off heroes as *n00bs*
b) Brute dies from more heroes and 1) Boasts how it took more than 3 heroes to kill him (when really it just made it faster) and 2. Does the 'gank' bind
Nevertheless, usually at the same time, his stalker friend tries and attacks one of the heroes, the heroes respond viciously and co-ordinated(ly), either severly damaging or killing the stalker.
This is met by either the response
"DAMN CM! OVERPOWERED!"
or guess what? The gank bind!
Correct me if I'm wrong but ganking is where you ambush and swarm someone with superior numbers, not where they attack your team and then die in the process? I didnt think ganking was if you attack a group of heroes and die!?
Anyway, last bit of the "shenanigans", I, deciding to take a more direct role in the fight, when seeing the Super Brute run in and flee, follow him with SS and SJ, he runs to a building a few hundred yds SE from hero base, and as i pursue him, occasionally using Touch of Fear to make him stop and smack him a bit, he breaks into a run around the building
This pursuit, running around the building and occasionally stopping to throw a punch at him, continues for 5 minutes
In one of the pauses to fight he asks (in broadcast) 'When r ur gank squard cming!'. Now, I was solo so this was particuarly....frustrating, I reply "They're not, I'm solo". And he goes "No they'll come..u gave them the signal".
After running a few more laps, we stop, fight, his corruptor friend comes along and assists, I also was a bit slow on when to use dull pain so did die then he just replies "Good bye regen".
I logged out anyway soon after, still hearing the fresh cries of 'Say it for me [Stalker Friend]' 'GANK GANK GANK GANK GANK GANK GANK GANK GANK GANK GANK GANK GANKK!'

I wish the people who acted like this actual used the forums to see what an awful image of PvP they portray, and how immature and pathetic they make the CoV population look.
I hope this hasn't put you off PvP Chiefy.
To be honest I'm guilty of crying gank but i don't think i have an actual bind for it. I usually just cry out about being ganked, make a joke about it, swear revenge on all heroes and go back out to be beaten up again.
Just hope my gank cries haven't put anyone off pvp
Sounds like they were frustrated at being outnumbered, not that it makes it right. Recently, when heavily outnumbered or faced with game breaking powers I just leave the zone, no sense getting a stomach ulcer over it.

(P.S: I was there for the Gank Gank Gank e.t.c, but if your gonna go and stand next to a group of 8 heroes what do you expect them to attack one at a time? Hehe)
Broadcast is getting less and less enjoyable in PvP now, not because of insults or anything particularly bad, (although there was another clown in Sirens last night telling people to turn on the filter if they didn't like his language... genius), but just for the amount of nonsense that goes on.
The signal to noise ratio on /b is very poor. Even if you wanted to trashtalk, it would be difficult amid all the idiocy floating around.
No one dies because they were outplayed anymore, it seems.
It's swings and roundabouts - the gankers can very quickly become the ganked - it only takes a couple of extra players on the losing side to swing the balance back in their favor.

Well on talking about it with a few forumites, I've now discovered the 'super' brute is apparently twelve years old! TWELVE!

Theres a certain BS/regen scrapper who stalking around sirens atm who laughs when he ganks someone with his mates and sends you tells saying how much he 'pwnz you' but when hes gets killed himself likes to send abusives tells calling you everything under the sun from a cheat to a hacker to a noob.

Some people just need to take 2 minutes out of their time to /petition these sort of people. The more the petitions build up, the less likely you are to see them doing it again.
I really struggle to believe people like that (however i sort of do now after my experience listed above), the idea of 'you are never at fault for any "failure"". Also the concept that the game revolves then around you.. other heroes/villains in PvP really 'are computers!'
Oh and because its villains/heroes PvP you are obliged to behave like an [censored] to the opposing side. Why? Ah because that would be how they do it in comics yanno?
Although the idea of in XMen Magneto throwing Wolverine about with magnetic powers shouting 'I PWNZ YOU WOLV3rinE' then when getting shot with anti-mutant darts going 'ZOMG HAX! YOU CANT DO THAT!' and of course, crumping to the floor weaaaak

Well pvp in sirens call has been great of late. I have also bumped into the person who has a bind for "gank gank gank gank gank". It is annoying especially as there is no reason for it. As said if you dont petition the people that give pvp a bad name (when they break the rules, in this case spamming) then you aint doing your part.
Anyway managed to have a great chuckle afew days ago after an epic nite of pvp in sirens call.
Very sneaky defiance snipe for teh defeat
The pvp was coming to an end and everyone was starting to log off. I had switched to various alts that nite and had changed to my stalker to get revenge for my poor dom. My quick revenge killing spree quickly resulted in myself getting close to 60k bounty. As I was so close I asked my bounty in broadcast if I could kill him before he logged. "Yeah sure matey", so I scramble to the heroes base to get the final kill I needed. Anyway on my way I happened to notice far away in the distance someone plummeting off a building. I thought nothing of it until I reached my free kill. It then suddenly dawned on me what was happening. I sent a tell to the person that I was just gonna be 2 mins and to stay where he was. I then shouted on broadcast "im on my way now". This bought me the time needed to hunt around the area. The very sneaky blaster had taken up a snipe position with a nasty dose of defiance awaiting for me to reveal myself. I wanted to say boo as I positioned myself for the kill but thought nah (I knew they had inspirations) and quickly dispatched him with my most accurate attack. Then finished off my free kill chuckling to myself at the sneaky blaster plan and how they would have gotten away with it if it wasnt for them pesky intelligent stalkers

That sounds like the night I was there a few days back. Despite getting splattered a bit early on.... and during the middle.... and then some more near the end. It turned out to be a fun night. I left suddenly cos someone turned the router off though :|
And if its the blaster i'm thinking of, well, he got when he deserved.

I was playing in SC on my Ice/elec blaster on Freedom the other night when a MM was hiding on the other side of the wall outside hero base thinking he was being really clever. Cue teleport into the middle of his mob, a hold, a bf, reteleported into his mob, I then ran to just in front of the hero base (outside compound but still covered by drone) and went into rest so he couldnt teleport me. Cue insults about running and several attempts to teleport me from my prone position outside the base. I can be quite patient in pvp and was just there in rest waiting and lo and behold he sends in his minion probably thinking I had gone afk, jumped out of hide, ran through hero base and over the wall by the hospital so the pets would follow through all the drones and ran round and beat the [censored] out of the MM.
I really hate tp in pvp

Unfortunately, not. 1 shot kills are still stupidly common in PvP, due to the way the Dev's define a 'single attack' and it has nothing to do with DoT.
You get hit by a fireball for 99 damage and you have 100 HP, you will then die as soon as the first DoT tick kicks in. Not ideal as it's almost impossible to do anything to stop it, but understandable.
Where it falls down is when you still die from a single attack. Let's looks at the energy blast set and a simple Power Blast. It's one attack, it has no DoT component, you can be one shotted with it if the blaster is buffed enough.
The reason you can be one shotted is because although it's a single attack, it has two damage components, smashing and energy. One of those on it's own would drop you to 1 HP but the second will kill you due to the fact that i'm guessing the 'one hit kill' code obviously looks at the total damage of each component, not the attack as a whole.
It would be nice to get some sort of red name confirmation on this TBH to say if this is how it should work or if there's a bug as I have plenty of evidence of it happening to me and have tested it a few times and can reproduce it if required.
In short, the 'no 1 hit kill' code isn't worth squat as the amount of attacks in game that do only have a single damage component is laughable, especially in tersm of AS's and Snipes which were the main reasons people called for something to be done

EM works the same way as most Melee attacks.. a simple cycle power, run in, jump over.. BOOM. Power still fires off and you're nowhere near the target.. useful in alot of situations.

Regarding the case you mentioned, I once dueled Gatling's teambuild in test server Arena, and after the match he said : "I didnt know that Energy has a ranged stun." To which I replied: "It doesnt"

As for Ranged-Melee =D I love it.. they never expect it.
And useful for those things that Fly and seem to think you can't get them
