Hey all.. long time no see and all that, jazz!

Right it's been so long since playing and I cba to go through 1000+ posts to find this, so I'm asking:

The wife currently has an issue, she wants to see the new power recoloring system, so we reactivated her CoX account to have a look.. naturally...

Problem is, her CoX Launcher constantly Checksums and Downloads a File Manifest and then hangs. Now her Game folder is a direct copy of mine which does work on my system and I does login with her account as well as mine, so it might be something her system is doing. I've read in places people having an issue like this and doing "ipconfig Flushdns/renew/release" - doesn't work.. I've read some doing it in Compat mode - doesn't work. Even turned the firewall off - doesn't work either.

So does anyone have any crazy ideas on why the software is looping? Everything but possibly her GFX Driver is updated and even then it might be nothing more than a month out of date, so technically this shudn't stop the launcher from getting past the "File Manifest" section.

As for the smacktalk, yea.. I suppose it's all RP and all that in game.. but like most things.. they talk like that because they can, get them in person in RL and then you'd find they not only DON'T talk like that, you could kick them into next week for being that SAD to step up to you and try it.

Too many consider the Forum/Game as a post where they can act a "[censored]" shame that outside it, they wouldn't even bother trying.

Just /gignore and /ignore and /petition with date/time/person/zone etc and get on with enjoying the game. Eventually the idiots get the hint.

I'd like to do it.. be previous teams presented, they haven't been able to do it without dying. That and my Badge-[censored] is my Controller (Fire/Emp) and people don't seem interested in a few AT combi's as they're incapable of doing the TF with them, too busy min/maxing because they are kinda "[censored]" at doing it with "non" min/maxed teams. *shrugs* excludes alot of people really, that arrogance.

Concept first. I made a vow that the next STF I will tank would be an all scrapper stf and thats not going to change ever. I hate players that need certain sets with an absolute vengeance in fact I have kicked so many of my global for it that I have known for years. Now I barely know anyone.

I moved the Controller to Defiant now anyway, as I see to have more "input" from them, than Union-attitude to most things atm, so I decided to give Defiant a try with him (only the Controller -- tho the Scrapper might follow him if things keep going the way they are). So if you ever wanna try any TFs on there (as I have some time off now for the wife, as the baby is expected soon) -- then give me a PM and I'll sort out time getting on to give you a hand, as I need to get back into CoX again.

And my fire/rad is still on farm build it hardly ever comes out in pvp... and well the other controllers are still in progress... I did a match vs myself when I switched and the amount of holds I could spam was EviL and don't even have the rech sets I want.... and not even halfway for the build I want.

And a Blaster dropping out of the sky = full Defiance.. gets lucky.. boom-headshot isn't overpowered enough?

I personally enjoy Defiance as it was.. i used to enjoy RIDING defiance.. get it as low as i can (killing myself intentionally) then laying waste to every mob around me.

As for PvP standards I wouldn't know.. but I've see some blasters in Siren's Call use the same tactic and actively look for DMG for Defiance to kick in.

I'm not entirely sure about this new "update" to Blasters, as I've not had the time to trawl thru a load of "I know best.. I've had a Blaster and died 10001 times to prove it* threads -- but Defiance on it's own made Blasters Dangerous -- Containment made Controller's dangerous. IOs gave other ATs that cud have it's Mez Rez broken by Controllers stacked Containment a fighting chance...


Much similar to Stacked CM vs Stalkers Hide/Stealth ...

It's how you play them, really...

But nothing is overpowered/underpowered really.. it's just how incapable some people are at them.

Air Superiority... wonder why no one mentioned it.

I used it alot, found out a lil clinche in it.

Two types of DMG, Smashing and -Fly.

Secondary being smashing = Containtment DMG available when using Controller Holds/Mez/Immob. Useful when you exemp or are low levels

I personally recommend it to those that never knew about it. (not that they would admit to that )

Well if I get home in time for some later in day I'll come lend a hand as I've caught up on my Hami-esqué tactics for these raids.

Also any Weekend Raids I'm up for fully.. unless something else comes up.

I work from 11am to 8pm, but don't get home till 10ish (late driving times/traffic) ... having one for the weekend would be better suited for me.. get one for Saturday time and I'll be happy to join.

Then those people need to get sorted out.

Considering the amount of trouble we had previously on Hami Raids either when I ran them or Lost did.. then those moronic idiots (people in regards to) will realise, that not only does it help those with lower end PCs.. BUT.. BUT.. it also helps the actual zone mechanics as well as it doesn't lag it out into oblivion.. ergo.. "failed raid".

Some people get lag.. other's don't but that doesn't mean the (KEY WORD) ----->> ZONE <<----- (KEY WORD) doesn't suffer from all the GFX/Animations/Action going on in one place!

Less things to draw.. the easier it is on the Zone itself to carry on working in one location. (Same rules apply for ANY Game or System out there)

So the "no capes" "no auras" "no wings" has more meaning than to do with the PCs daddy got them It does in fact have more to do with the fact the zone can't handle the amount of stress XXX heroes/villians in one place at one time.

*shrugs* Not a hard concept to figure out.. but as said.. like on the Hami Raids of "oldeé" there are always those that have no consideration for others.. and wonder why we [censored] at them for it.

Get some going on the weekend, and I'm game for anything.

I have work from 1pm to 8pm and I don't get home until 10ish (transport depending), and it's the night before my wedding this week.

I can get involved if they're done on the weekend, but weekdays for the next 6 weeks is out the question.

Otherwise I have been studying the War Zone as well as tactics myself and a few others used, during the Closed Beta Event, so as long as you have a fair few people, I don't see you'll have many problems... ...so long as people follow orders -- but if our Hami Raids were anything to go by, it'll be madness incarnate for a while until people do.

All those builds, the so called "we know better than you" and "Min/Max" morons, now get chance to actually choose a gimped one and I play it, basically.

People believe an Gimped build is pointless, my wife-to-be wants to see if I can play gimped builds as well as my "usual" and "perfected ones" - as they get boring after a while.
