Rikti-Muffins!!

With I10 now live and everyone enjoying the carnage and destruction of the invasion, its time we gave the Rikti a good kicking.

So in the spirit of the Friday night Hami Muffins, would everyone from the old raids be interested in some slightly green, partially stinky Rikti Muffins?

If there is a resounding yes, then bring your best backside kicking hero's or villains to the RWZ this friday night.

RV point: The semi destroyed outpost at the southern end of the sunken road marker 20:00 hours.

Battle Plan:Players will divide into teams of 8, which will form 2 main assault groups. Groups will then engage from the south and perform a sweep around each side of the mothership, destroying the pylons.

After which, all raiders will make their way to the centre of the ship, inflicting as much damage as possible on rikti numbers before holding back the assault waves from the centre.

Our goal then is to attach bombs to the inside of the vents on the ship, which I found on test to be best handled by scrappers and stalkers with super reflexes / ninjitsu.

once this is achieved, and much AoE damage has been spammed to achieve large numbers of merits, we gank the GM and be home in time for dinner

Please note: the plan isn't foolproof, There is certainly a small group of guys who know the system much much better than me ( lost and Raz, where are you guys!? ) but here's hoping we can get some regular raids going!

The raid counts towards several badges, notably exploration, defeating the gm 10 times and for planting bombs, as well as large amounts of vanguard credits that can be used for cossie pieces and additional salvage storage.

Hope to see lots of you there!

Can't make that...

I have work from 1pm to 8pm and I don't get home until 10ish (transport depending), and it's the night before my wedding this week.

I can get involved if they're done on the weekend, but weekdays for the next 6 weeks is out the question.

Otherwise I have been studying the War Zone as well as tactics myself and a few others used, during the Closed Beta Event, so as long as you have a fair few people, I don't see you'll have many problems... ...so long as people follow orders -- but if our Hami Raids were anything to go by, it'll be madness incarnate for a while until people do.

It's a great plan, but there is no point really. Pylon raids have been in a non-stop farming state ever since i10 went live. Everybody goes in and out of the teams, but there are people fighting the mothership all the time till very early in the morning. All you have to do is go there :P

Doll is right, but that attacks are uncoordinated, mostly cause lag and debt-fest. If my computer didn't give up i will continue, but when game kicked me out i gave up.

As far as i can see, some people trying to organise the attacks but only little percent of people listen them.

IMO following things are required for that event:
1- Enough 50s to SK lower ones. Mobs on the ship was lvl 54-53 last night. As a lvl 41 i couldn't make a stracth to them.
2- Everyone must carry lots of Break Frees or Bubblers and Sonic trollers/defenders needed for mez protection.
3- An organized attack is a must. Rikti attack organized. When you give that big upper hand to your enemy you're good as dead.
4- Maybe i am wrong but can Hami-like suits help with lag?

That's all i can think about right now.

For Friday night, count me in. Psy-knight lvl 41 Mind/Rad controller. Without lvl 50 mentor i am only good for healing, rez and debuffs.

Hope to see you there.

well, I did some pylon work last night and there are definately some amendments we can do.

One. Raids aren't too long, and as Power Doll rightly put, they happen regular enough, but having more raids wont hurt, especially if organised teams support the PuG's already going it at. Which means we can do some weekend Rikti Muffins for anyone like Raz that has weekday commitments!

Two. Planting bombs is a complete nightmare, teams really have to work on this one, most people run off solo and get slaughtered. If your team is planting a bomb, please defend the bomber, everyone gets credited towards the badge, so make sure your chosen dynamite packing nutter is ok

Three. Rikti Magi are hardcore! A raid got wiped out last night on RWZ2 because entire groups were being detoggled, making it really easy for the GM to take out large groups. We need a group to tank and handle the GM, whilst everyone else focus's on thinning the numbers of supporting Rikti, and spamming heals for the rest of us

Think the hami suits idea might be a good one as some people suffer way more than others.
I think before you start this make sure everyone fills up on the break frees! The ammount of holds, stuns and sleeps that happen is just criminal.
I spent most of one raid just swallowing those, and re starting up my toggles! Most frustrating!
Count me in for it though! I'll either bring my tank or my kheld!!

Maybe at least costumes can have less details and without capes or/and auras. I will change one of my costumes for that matter. Old fashioned Purple/white can be enought i guess (with whole stealth and eyes aura i have reasonable lag, with my capes one things was worse).

And which one this will be? RWZ, RWZ-2 or RWZ-3?

PS: Luckily my only toggles are my debuffs so i die easy with or without them.

The Hami suits are probably going to help a lot I think, with the detail in the new Rikti armor, as well as our own is really going to give people grief.

As for organisation, we have to get a tactic down that we can rely on like the hami raids

have no idea which instance we can use, I doubt we could force large amounts of people into one instance, we'll just have to wing it lol

apologies for double post, but just a HUGE thankyou to everyone who turned up tonight, some very familiar names from the Hami Raids and some new names to definately remember

After 3 raids, most people wanted a break, so we left it at that, but on each and every occasion we came through where needed, got the bombs down and beat Ukon

Enjoy your merits everyone, you certainly earned them!

I'll try and organise this again for tomorrow, and my thanks again to a certain wondering kensei who provided the inspiration for tonights rikti muffin hilarity

My Computer gave up during the beginning of second run. As it was getting late and i've no use on the thing i decided to go bed and offer my hot body to an eager young lady (new kitten i found on the road, she thinks i am her mother ).

Anyway i hope we can do this again.

For some reason, doing the three runs of pylons cured my headache. All praise the miracle of muffins.

... was incredible fun, would join you again tonight (if it gets organized), but I'm heading to see my goddaughter who lives out of town.

I'm glad everyone had fun, excellent targeting Coldest, the route we used gives us a straight charge from the bottom right straight to the ship, seems to work well!

Just need to find a way to make getting those bombs down easier and more effective ways of dealing with those damn magus

For Magus i first need to learn more on them but fight fire with fire seems a reasonable answer. A team of controllers can easily lock them down. A sonic, empathy or kinetics keep others CMed. While Rad and Storm ones run toggles to de-buff them. Especially -acc debuff from sets means less chance for magi to hit others. Hmm also Scrappers and Tankers have mez protection. Maybe if we can have one tanker, one mez protector and one debuffer in each team this will do trick.

Just throwing ideas, not that i am most experienced in this situations but i believe every idea is usefull since they can open new doors for progression through the success. I hope i don't offend anyone with them.

PS: Yeah i regret that i didn't get IW instead of Mental Blast. I think i will change it with free respec. Or get ice epic pool for hibernate and higher damaging Ice Storm.

I've found in my experience of doing the raids if you can knock them over you're laughing.
Been ice patching them and calling people over to get them and raids have been successfull with that!

Was on RWZ1 last night and every raid was a successful one!

Well done to all on there! Will be online most of this evening trying to get the bomb badge!!!
