  1. Better make sure that no Americans realize i'm Dutch or else they'll be asking again if we can get Marihuana from vending machines over here.

Overall, I think both FF and Sonic Disp sets are well balanced.

    hehe, you're funny

Ok, the time has been set for 5pm UK time, so that's about an hour and a half for me to book the ambulance.......

but who for?? DUN DUN DUNNNNN!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is a good time. I'll schedule it in after my weekly Bear wrestling session.

For those who wish to watch Mesmer being destroyed, please, feel free to attend and cheer on our interpid hero!*

    That is all.

    Buff /Ice Melee Blasters please.

    The T9 is dumb.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Beyond dumb

I've had my Ice/Ice blaster since 2 months after EU release. Never ever have I felt the need to even try that Tier 9. I got more than enough damage mitigation out of Ice Patch.

I would however like some of the damage back that ED took away.
  6. Xanthus you dumb idiot, I need to got to work. Also isn't your PC broken?

Mind/ff used to be quite good for team pvp. In fact it was that good that even Mesmer looked decent when playing it . Wish they fixed force bubble

    [/ QUOTE ]
pff, I was the only one playing it and I always look good.

    [ QUOTE ]
Sorry to go off a little wayward from the OP. When you say it's broken is this the problem that basic SS or sprinters can get in to melee you as the 'ticker' to repel opponents is so slow or something else?

I use FB alot in PvP on my grav/FF and although not fantastic it seems to do an ok job or is there something I'm not aware of?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I Issue 6 nobody could get into melee, unless they had a form of repel protection like Increased Density or Unyielding. You had to watch out for those powers and ranged attacks. That's the difference really. Now everyone can get into melee, so you have to watch out for everyone, making it a lot less useful. It doesn't even compensate for lag anymore.

Either fix the description or fix the power, because they don't match up anymore. It's only become a minor annoyance now. It's a shame really, they took away the only thing the power does well, unlike Hurricane which is still a nasty tohit debuff.

    Grats Ruby!

Stop getting PL'ed by those guys plz

    congrats
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Ahem, ice bolt and ice blast both do a buff of about 6.5% damage. They dont do as high a damage buff as BFR because their animation times are so much faster.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I understand that, I'm just telling you that powers that animate that long will get you killed if you fight anyone with a hint of skill in the Arena, and will definitely get you killed in Stalker filled zones. So any damage buffs it gives will not help you that much, as there will be good chance that you'll be dead 2 seconds after you've used it.

Sinergy-X indicated that BFR also had slowing abilities, assuming me to believe he thought it was a viable tool for slowing. I simply disagree. I pointed out that both Ice Bolt and Ice Blast( and Bitter Ice Blast as well actually ) also had the same slowing abilities, but that they were mainly used for damage( the slowing just being a nice added bonus ).

BFR however is a hold, and not a very good one at that, seeing that the duration, recharge and the animation are not very well suited for hold stacking and hold stacking is not really a very viable tactic for a blaster in PVP anyway( not after the nerfs ). Smart people will be packing Break Free's and you don't have the time, endurance, or hold duration to stack over it. It's easier just to slow them to a standstill with Shiver, while keeping constant damage on them through your attacks. Keep in mind thought that even though you can slow movement speed a lot, anyone with Superjump or Teleport can still easily get close to you, so you don't want to be standing still very much, if at all.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
BFR does -recharge/-slow also i believe.

    [/ QUOTE ]
So does Ice Bolt and Ice Blast(same values as BFR btw), but I take those for damage. I wouldn't take a single target hold with 20 second recharge and a 3.7 second animation in PVP, just because it did some slowing. I would have to do 100% damage buff for 30 seconds for me to even consider taking it.

    [ QUOTE ]
Yup, long casting suddenly becomes usefull

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, but standing around for a 3.5+ second animation to play in PVP however is not useful. You will die. Repeatedly.

Shiver is a better tool for slowing. You'll slow much more effectively while hardly losing any movement.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
But also I have limited info on how to play this type of toon, I get it aint a pure buff bot type, I could just really use some advice on this!!

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm thinking you should focus mainly on buffing and debuffing. Seeing as Defender damage is pretty bad, it might be an interesting idea to slot your attacks with a Tohit Debuff IO set instead of the standard damage slotting. That way you get much better Tohit debuff to complement your Defense buffs and your team will be more effective when you go up against mobs with +tohit buffs, like Devouring Earth.

Also, try to get something fun in there as well. Something for your own personal amusement, otherwise I think you might find this fairly boring to play. Try Force Bolt. You'll never get tired of being able to perma knockback a boss, while your teammates clean up the mob surrounding him. It's like a semi control and it's fun.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Bear in mind the build is supposed to be quite cheap to achieve

    [/ QUOTE ]
Ok, I've come up with a build that is a bit more expensive, but still doable if you put some effort into it. I've dropped both holds as slowcapping is more effective, Blizzard in favour of Ice Storm(nice set bonus and I'm not a big fan of Blizzard) and have gone for Leadership instead of Medicine Pool(I don't duel anyway).

Having just finished the respec on my other Blaster, I'm thinking of making this my new priority hero side. Either this or my new Defender

  13. Also, I don't like the Icons at all. Doesn't tell me anything. I want the defiance bar back. Or the Fury bar in this case.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
I doubt they will notice any change in pvp from these buffs. If anything, the removal of the old defiance might make them slightly weaker.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. On the other hand I'm not worried about them nerfing unresistable damage. There is no way blasters will perform better with this in PVP.
  15. Ok, than that's pretty damn [censored] then.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
its still 12,5%, read up the maths

    [/ QUOTE ]
    I'm reading this from Maelwys:
    [ QUOTE ]
    12.5% + (12,5% * 100%) = 25%

    [/ QUOTE ]
    I'm confused now.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
I had my burst from 20dmg eventualy up to 39dmg on a rikti boss while mezzed, i'm happy

    [/ QUOTE ]
    did you kill him?
  18. I can tell there's a slight buff to ranged damage (20 more hitpoints on fireblast, yay), but the Fury thing IMO is underwhelming to say the least.

Also are you sure we should be getting a 25% damage buff enhanced? Doesn't seem like it on test right now. More like 12.5% enhanced.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
However they can counter def way easier then other sets (except FA scrappers - although against elude even they also get a hard time) imho compensating their drop in damage versus high resist.

    [/ QUOTE ]
This would only widen the gap that exist right now between +defense and +resistance. Blaster still have all their tools to negate +defense, but would maybe lose some of their tools that give them a chance against +resistance. That's a problem.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
[Realistically, even if they take away ALL the unresisted damage (and at this point from what I see it's only a slight possibility that they'll even scale it down) it won't make much difference IRL unless the other team has a few Sonic buffers or a Granite tauntbot.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's the thing though. Any decent team will be +res capped by having both a Sonic and a Thermal. Try fighting those without unresistable damage. It's one of the reasons a lot of teams now roll with Rad/Psi's. Those are the only ones that can hit through the res buffs and do anything resembling decent damage. Sonic Blast can also do this a bit, but not as effectively as Psi.

I agree that they probably won't remove unresistable damage, but IMO widening the already existing gap between Psi defenders and Blasters is not a good plan. +Res is too good in PVP for that at the moment and it doesn't have nearly as many counters as +Defense.
  21. Oh god, if they take unresistable damage, then what reason does anyone have to roll Blasters in PVP? Psy Defenders are already all over the place and this would make them even more popular.

*edit* also, can we have toggle drops back plz? thx
