    Prometheus

I'm just back from seeing it and I was underwhelmed by it; some bits were entertaining but there were large parts of the movie that made no sense in terms of character motivation and other parts were just plain silly. I was also annoyed by the use of that old movie trope of having people trying to escape being crushed by a large toppling object by having them run directly down the path the object is falling down onto.
  2. Not to put words into someone else's mouth but I believe the Nelson meme pic was pointing out the humour in the quote "calling this an exploit is over-stating it. I used the exploit because" as the poster immediately called it an exploit himself after saying that calling it an exploit was overstating it.

They turn up in Tavish Bell's Code Merlin arc on villains. They can be quite challenging or quite easy, depending on what flavour they are and what sets you have.
  4. I found throwing a Shivan at him to be the best solution when I faced him recently.

The fact that that was considered by the producers to be a good solution to go with in the first place and that it needed people on the community staff to point this out is jarring to say the least.

  7. From Smallville guest star to Lois Lane - she's come a long way. Good choice for the part; I'm looking forward to seeing what she brings to the role.

Never understood the logic of putting it up against something like Big Bang Theory which is gonna have such an overlap of viewer demographics! Makes no sense.
If I recall correctly Community had already been scheduled for 8pm on Thursday when CBS decided to move BBT there to open up a second night of comedy. I'd be very disappointed if Community didn't get renewed - it's my favourite show.
  9. I've been working away solo on my SS/FA brute and (with the help of two Grai Matter along the way) I've just crafted my uncommon boost. I'm quite happy with the solo shard drop rate - it's not punishingly low but it does require some time investment, as it should.
  10. A possibly silly question from someone who hasn't used City Info Tracker before but how do you get it and Titan Sentinel to start tracking characters? I've just created a Titan account, added my main as a character on the Tracker website, launched Sentinel and the game and am now scratching my head wondering what next?

Update: Ignore me - I thought to launch the program as administrator and now it's tracking my character Great stuff!
  11. I hide because
    (a) I solo 99.999% of the times and
    (b) I have gradually developed this weird social affective disorder where tells from strangers cause me to have a mini-panic attack.

I don't know what happened to me really; I used to team years ago but am now at the point where it would be a very big thing for me to join a team.
  12. Jesus, mother of god! The merged markets is excellent news

  14. Ahh, I have fond (?) memories of being part of an almost insane team who did the first three SSTF's one after another. I say "almost" insane because we had the sense to stop there and not do the last one too as originally planned
  15. If you have a free moment Mr. Pebble could you get in touch with Massively and provide them with some suitably awe-inspiring Ultra Mode-exhibiting screenshots for use in their CoX news posts? As a recent commenter there said, it's silly that they use such ancient screenshots. It hardly makes a good impression on the site's users and it's not going to make anyone want to try the game out who hasn't already played it.

    *@$/?#~!

My second most painful was when there was a group of us kicking a ball around on my neighbour's front lawn when I was about 10. I scored a goal and decided to celebrate by diving/dropping to my knees and skidding along the grass for a bit. Unfortunately I hadn't taken into account the fact that my neighbour's dog liked to chew bones and had a habit of leaving them lying around. Cue me running over a freshly chewed up bone with my knee and cutting a two inch gash in my kneecap. The shock of the experience was almost worse than the pain. Getting stitches and having the doctor pick blades of grass out of the cut was fun too.

My most painful was when we were throwing around a rubgy ball like an American football when I was young and I managed to catch it wrong and had the full weight of the ball land on my thumb, pulling it back into a bad sprain. That was excruciating - the pain was so bad it sucked the air out of my lungs and left me rolling around on the ground for ages.
  17. Sell invention salvage and recipes at Wentworths/Black Market when your storage is full - this'll give you all the inf you need for basic (TO/DO/SO) enhancing of your powers. Don't worry too much about crafting enhancements (basic or set IO's) until you've got your bearings and know what you're doing. When you have more experience with salvage and recipes you'll learn which ones sell for a pittance at the auction house and which would be better off sold to a vendor for more inf. It's best to check if you're not sure - there's no point in vendoring a multi-million inf recipe by mistake.

Also, be aware that there's diminishing returns on the enhancements you slot. Once you're in the region of 3 SO's worth of enhancement for a single attribute (e.g. damage) any additional enhancements of the same type give much less benefit. Unless you really, really, really want another couple of percentage points of damage or recharge or whatever, don't slot beyond 3 SO's worth.

Note: TO's (Training Origin enhancements) are available from level 1, DO's (Dual Origin) are available from level 12 and SO's (Single Origin) are available from level 22.

    a tough question

As far as I know it's S/L resist in PvE and resist all in PvP.

I would hope they'd have more sense than to sound the death knell of any MMO (servers being cut) just when they're trying to get people to invest in GR.

I personally suspect this is some kind of stress test; either the going rogue process shares some of the tech used by the server transfer system and they want to see how it works under truely stressful conditions or else they're planning on merging the server lists in the near/distant future and again they want to stress test the system.

Whatever the reason (simple generosity probably being most likely) and in spite of the fact that I'll most likely not swap any characters from Defiant to Union or the reverse I'd still like to thank the devs for doing this.
  20. Maybe as a special Christmas present this year the devs are finally combining the EU and US server lists into one and the free server change tokens are there to allow the inevitable mass server migrations to occur without it being seen as a money making exercise for NCSoft?

    Farming Help

The second Tavish Bell mission (possessed scientists in a cargo ship) is my mission of choice (SS/FA brute also). Had two purples drop in the space of 10 minutes the other day; totally random I know but it keeps me coming back
