Discussion: 63 And 66 Month Veteran Rewards!
Looks good. Not great, but good. But then the City Traveler is going to be hard to beat. The Fog of War Reveal will help with my OCD about uncovering zone maps. Hopefully, it's permanent.
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
the recipe slots are nice...but uh fog of war?...am i suppose to be familar with this term?

When you first enter a zone, the map hasn't revealed itself right? The black part is called "the fog of war".

Not sure if this has been covered, but does "Reveal" reach beyond a certain floor? Like, if I use Reveal on the first floor of an office building, will the other four floors be revealed as well?
Doom.
Yep.
This is really doom.

An interesting distinction to make! When I read this I only thought of the outdoor zone maps, not internal maps. It would be my guess that this is for outdoors only.
Dev confirmation one way or another would be good.

Pretty good! I like the 66th month reward -- looking forward to those. I still want my moble ICON shop reward!
Oh, like anyone who's been playing for 5+ years isn't going to know the layout of every single map already :P
Cool stuff. Much appreciated
The more slots is actually the better of the two (IMHO).
"Fog of War"? There are already maps that "can not display" so if this is going to affect mission maps, there is going to be a lot of scrambling on the dev side.
If it is just for zones, it will be nice to actually see the map for DA... oh, wait, it is at VidiotMaps... never mind.
Sometimes, I impress my boss. Sometimes, I impress myself. The rest of the time, I scare people. I can live with that.
*shrug* Color me disappointed, but they certainly aren't in any way game-changing. Just fun bonuses.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
I'd love to know how many people actually qualify for the 63 month badge on the first possible day. (Which, I think discount bugs, would be 7/27?)
My main account has had an uninterrupted subscription since the 3-day pre-order head-start. (My 2nd account is about a month behind)

This is all good for outdoor areas, but I wouldn't WANT to reveal the fog of war of many instanced maps, as when I'm trying to locate that last glowie/enemy to defeat, close check of the fog is important.

I'm mostly disappointed because I was hoping that vet rewards would eventually stop at some point. 5 years seemed the best place. As it is, there's no way I can ever catch up to get the new rewards. I've been around since release, but I had no way of knowing at the time that if I stayed subscribed I'd be able to get stuff.
Makes it worse when new stuff comes out and there are rewards I actually WANT, but I can't get, and will NEVER be able to catch up to.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

I'm kinda in the same boat of 'ok-ness' for the rewards... the map reveal will be kinda neat. But for this, one should get something special... like dual auras. Say, oh, I dunno... firey eyes and tendril bodies, for example, in different colors to boot. Bet that'd be really hard though, or something...
Seeing as I'm just about 1 year behind all that... doesn't really apply to me does it? But I'll work on it.

re: 63 Month - Honorable
Um... Cerise Dawn is *anything* but honorable... so... what's the villian equivalent on this? Dishonorable? Heinous? Cowardly? Well, of course, not that one, that's silly, villains are pretty uncowardly, just evil, or at least ill tempered.
The Enduring one for 66 is fine and dandy. Especially if you got your 50 Mind/Psi Dom there before the 'fren'ed the Doms. *points to self*
I'm kinda thinking the badges aren't for Heroes/Villains, but for self. Still, it's going to be kinda funny to have Cerise with the 'Honorable' tab underneath, when everyone in the Rogue Isle knows different.
/Kinda wondering what the 69 month reward will be...

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.

Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012

Will this power clear the map for all teammates as well? Only then would it be truly useful.
Well this could be good for the vets that are going to get Going Rogue as I would assume it will work on that expansion as well.

Even if it doesn't with a short recharge time it won't matter

Yes but has everyone memorized every badge and plaque location to the point where they don't need to use vidmaps?

i'm not disappointed at all. In my opinion Veteran Rewards should either be very minor perks or automatically granted versions of powers/costume pieces/whatever non veterans can earn/craft/unlock.
Looking forward to trying the 63 month one in several weeks.

It's possible to have a villainous character abide by a code of honor. Case in point: Beast Wars character Dinobot.

Its a term that goes all the way back to the good ole days of command and conquer and other games that have minimaps.

Veteran Rewards for your long-time customers are nice and all, but sometimes seeing the rewards is pretty disheartening for your newer customers, especially those that are returning customers who unsubscribed before there were veteran rewards.
I have no idea how it would work, but it sure would be nice to have some mechanism to allow newer customers to "catch up".

That would pretty much remove the whole point of these being rewards for those who have been playing (and paying!) every month since the game was released, wouldn't it?
I myself am about 18 months shy of getting these rewards. But I have something to look forward to when I get there.
