Official Going Rogue Discussion
I know SoA's have a forced respec at lvl 24...
Don't try to dual build one tho it's a pita...
Build 2:
Lvl 1, Train, Power, Train, Slots, Train, Power, Train, Slots...
Lvl 22, Train, Power, Train, Slots, Train, Respec!
At lvl 24 or above the second build should automatically drop to the Respec if the second build is still below lvl 24.
Hope this gets fixed and doesn't carry over to any new GR/P EAT's
Additionally:
with their eyes closed they can't see you!
Ouch!
I have noted many hopes for GR and will add a small one here. New loading screens - especially the heroes one when you first load the game. That looks old, tired and many of the heroes don't look the same as on that screen or are very 'basic' looking. There are some great costumes out there. Update the screens

Totally off-topic from the DOOOOM! cries of here, but are we getting new mission maps with GR? Some of the older ones are getting kind of long in the tooth.

Some things, like cave maps, would probably be the same, as they're natural features - but as Praetoria has its own building style, I'm expecting some new Praetorian interior maps, like offices, warehouses and labs, and maybe some sort of base maps for Praetorian Police places - sort of like the Arachnos base maps, but less obviously evil looking.

Well, yeah, I know gray would better reflect the terrible soullessness of Tyrant and his thugs, but purple is the Praetorian color in both the new and old versions, and as it's a blend of blue and red, it'd make more sense than gray - plus, it looks more dynamic and threatening, especially if it's a darker shade of purple.
|
Since when has purple ever been associated with Praetorians? And I think gray is far mor iconic as a neutral color... as it has long been associated with neutrality or somewhat good/somewhat evil.

Most of them have purple/dark blue as the main part of their outfits, although some like Marauder and Black Swan just have black.
|
Cause, if you look at those who currently have purple as a significant component... well, you only are looking at 25% of 16. If you include dark blue as a primary color (not just blue, like Neuron, or as a tertiary color) than you still only have 38% of 16.
Maybe "most" changed meaning while I wasn't looking.
AntiMatter - dark blue/black
Battle Maiden - brown/gray
Black Swan - black
Bobcat - brown
Chimera - dark blue/black
Diabolique - purple
Dominatrix - black/red
Infernal - black/red
Malaise - purple
Marauder - black/silver
Mother Mayhem - purple
Neuron - blue/red
Nightstar - purple/black
Shadowhunter - brown
Siege - dark blue/dark red
Tyrant - dark blue/dark red
The visual impression is a little closer to purple than gray
Purple is a blend of blue (Heroes) and red (Villains) - the perfect color for the "crossing over" content.
Also, purple was also the color of the ancient Roman emperors, who were protected by the real life Praetorian Guard

With all due respect, I think that's just because those characters are evil, and red, black, gray, dark blue, and dark purple are often colors associated with evil.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

Rome - ruled by an emperor who's worshipped as a god, and protected by an elite force called the Praetorian Guard.

And this is just the few details we've been told about so far

GG, you are aware that all of the Americans history comes from Hollywood, so they may not know a lot of the back story in a historical way

Also, it is a good point about the Roman thing, it isn't something I really thought about. It is also worth noting that you ignored the point about the parallel of gray being a well established color associated with a neutral morality.
Honestly, I am not sure why I am arguing with you about this... niether of us knows what color, if any, will be used... and even if we did, the reasoning and such is out of our hands. I guess I just felt a bit argumentative.

Burn the Traitor!
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Gray IS traditional for the blurring of lines, becuase it is the blurring of white and black, light and darkness, which is how we normally associate good and evil. In this game hero and villian is not usually referred to as white and black, but blue and red. In this instance the 'graying' (or blurring) of COH blue and COV red would be a deep purple. Besides the roman refernence, purple is also the color of 'Kings' or monarchy. While Tyrant may not be a monarch in the proper sense, he kind of resembles one.
So you are both right, I suppose. :-)

"Emperor"/"King" is just a fancy title for a dictator - Recluse could call himself King of the Rogue Isles if he liked - it still wouldn't change the way he ruled.
Also, Nemesis even made himself Emperor of the Americas once - and in the dimension whre we meet Nemesis Rex, he actually became king of the whole world

I believe the words you are looking for are "then", "rogue" and "arc."
At any rate, I suspected that the Devs went through and made sure that all missions had an alignment associated with it... hence the Hero/Villain tags. What exactly those will do, I don't know.
Also, I am really curious how the Epics/Patrons will end up. My theory?
I think Heroes will have Patrons added, and Villains will get Epics added. This, will necessitate a huge number of new powers, but will make sure that every eventuality is covered. How exactly this might interact with side-switching at 41, or 43, or whatever is of course up in the air.
