The coolest place in-game you stumbled over...?

Yes, it's still there. Also, it's NOT behind a 'door' like an instanced mission/shop. It's more so a secret passage... I was able to just find it again just now after only a minute of looking (mostly the actual travel time).

[/ QUOTE ]

I went looking for that again recently and couldn't find it. Can you at least give me a hint? I'd like to find it again.

The Leviathan Caves in the "Cult of the Shaper" missions (OMG! Are those teeth?)

[/ QUOTE ]

As a matter of fact, they are! That's the Leviathan. You encounter it again in Captain Mako's patron arc (where this time you get it's tooth) and in the Operative Renault Strike Force where you get to beat the heck out of it's eye (if you notice in the Shaper arc, you can find an area with the now-empty eye socket)

[/ QUOTE ]Check my YouTube profile (City of Villains - Grandville's Secret Room) to see the video of me going there... For just a hint... it's in a corner, between two... big objects? Like huge circuit breaks/thingies. You think there's a wall there, but there's actually not, but you can't actually tell just by looking. It's not in the really low red/misty area.

Hmmm... yes I will need to go back for another hunt. At least now I have an idea where I may have gone wrong. For some reason I thought it was on the other side of one of those grates, only you could actually cross it. I found it by accident the first time while superspeeding through, so I guess I misremembered where I was when I went off grid.

Thanks

It WAS available, and then they removed it during the beta because unlike in the Shadow Shard, falling off the map killed you.

Boohoo I hope they bring it back someday

There is some really nifty area under the Big Office building in Crey's Folly, and that zone has a suprising number of nice details. Also, untill recently, I had no idea that the Aracnos building in Port Oaks had boiler, smokestacks, & other industrial gizoms on its sides about half way up. Also in Port Oaks, Fort Hades, is a very nice little area.

Oh, also, Wolf's Throat in Striga + undeside of Warburge are really nice little underground areas, soo totally need to have instanced maps of them

A long time ago I got really bored (back in I4, don't think there was any way to get a raptor pack for a hero back then) and spent a couple hours trying to get my tank from the Storm Palace to that useless island to the west of it. I finally gave up and convinced a friend to fly there and recall me to it.

Cool? Probably not, but it is interesting to see an area that might have had a purpose, but then was made completely useless(there's no normal way to get there and it has vents that launch you into nowhere).

Mainly, I love the Storm Palace zone and it's just nice to dink around in there.

The tunnels under Grandville in general are really interesting. The Fab is also a cool place to explore, if not deadly.

Is the Fab that place that's way out past Grandville proper where even 50s can occasionally get stomped on if they're not paying attention?

BTW, thanks to everyone who's posted here. I'd love to film all these and do a mock Michael Palin travel documentary for these.

When you log out outside a door, you come out of that door when logging in. With that knowledge, you can find doors that are half-buried in the terrain in Peregrine Island / Monster Island and log off outside of them, then when you log back in you'll come out of them, and since they're half-buried, you'll be falling under the map.

Once you're there, just fly towards the arena. You'll see a giant blue cube under it. Fly directly below, and type /stuck. The game will think the closest "valid" location to put you in is inside the arena map, in the area behind the doors -- the "Matrix Room" pictured above.

This does indeed work, but a warning - there's no way out of the room. I'd recommend not going in unless you have an O portal or someone who can TP you out (though I haven't tested TP, an O portal works.)

Actually, it doesn't. If you are at full health, no amount of fall damage will kill you, you will always be left with 1hp.

Although it does dole out some serious damage.

We did the mission on that map where you have to defeat Scirroco. He totally owned our team, but the brute pulled him over the hole and.....he dropped to his death and completed the mission.

It can kill you, though it doesn't necessarily do so. Under some circumstances it deals two ticks of enormous damage. I think it usually happens if you try to activate Hover or Fly a bit too late, and coast through the boundary.

My very first AE mission was set in that map, and it's thematically important for the arc. I hope we get it back.

Maybe you could just wait until Halloween. I know all kinds of interesting stuff comes out of those doors on the second floor of the Arena during the Halloween event!

The trick is to not use half-buried doors. See, half-buried doors put you halfway into the ground, getting you stuck. So what you've gotta do is find a totally buried door and stand right in front of, er, above, it. That'll drop you through the map, where you can explore to your cheating heart's desire

I like sunrise/sunset over the Hollows seen from the top of Eastgate Heights - it's very still and peaceful, even though the zone is in such a mess

I still have 3 alts on different servers, who are still in the old PDP!

I log in there every once in a while just to look again.
Such a lonely place now!

.
I like the new PDP. They got the sound and atmosphere just right. The muffled bass. The filthy warehouse feeling. The lights, the way the music shifts. Even the creepy weirdos and their creepy, sleazy conversations. My costume even smells like cigarettes when i leave!

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the Swiss chalet from the winter event! PDP+Shadow Shard+yodeling+physics games= fun!

Also, that TF in Striga (Hess?) with the giant Council robot at the end. I didn't even leave when the self destruct sequence started. I just hang around, checking out the robot, debt be damned.
