The coolest place in-game you stumbled over...?
I love the amphitheatre in Perez Park.
I'm also extremely fond of a particular Ouroboros island, once that has two pools at different levels with a waterfall connecting them...waterslide anyone?
EDIT: Oh, and I LOVE to hang out in Croatoa. That whole zone is awesome!
There's a neighborhood in Brickstown called Dark Waters, and all it is is a big underground aquaduct. Its along the eastern wall of the zone.

A friend led me to the Matrix room inside the Arena once. That was before I got my new system and lost the screenies I had taken.

Such an awesome room than never got used

I've been playing CoH for over two years now. Today, while in Nerva on a mission for Grillo, I happened to overfly Crimson Cove and blundered into an area I'd never seen before... a BUNCH of cages with creature types from all over the game in them, and Crey scientists standing around.
I was astounded.
Then my husband pointed out that there's a similar facility under Agincourt, so off I go, and sure enough, there are about a half-dozen forcefield holding cells, with CREY supervising them, and TOURISTS!
I had NO idea these were here!
Has anyone else found really nifty stuff just by wandering around in-game? And if so, where are they? I am always looking for good filming locales, and I'd had no idea these were here!

I wanted to have a way to unlock those cages and wreak havoc.

The Shadow Shard.
I respecced into fly just so I could explore it for the first time. The Devs really need to add more content to it(or rather, content that will make it more popular), it's a gorgeous zone with lots of potential.

The most cool is the secret club somewhere in Faultline.
[/ QUOTE ]I like the one in Grandville better.

I've heard about a hidden club in Grandville, but have never been able to find it. Can you give me a general idea of where the entrance is?
[/ QUOTE ]
If we are talking about the Cryptic Studios cubicles, try the underground.
Isn't that where you hear "Moon River" accompanied by screams and whipcracks?
I've heard they put the dev cubicles under Grandville, but I haven't found them yet.

See this is the problem with Travel powers. You just zip by all the local scenery.
[/ QUOTE ]
On the other hand when you spend all your time on the ground running you miss just as much because you couldn't see over your surroundings. Besides, the thing that the OP was talking about is often missed because it is well past the parts of the map that missions take you anyway.
I think one of the cooler places I've found recently is the clocktower in Mercy, on which you can occasionally find a mad gunman shooting over the railing.

Trust the computer. The computer knows all.
Not a place, but a very subtle detail I noticed. There's a Freedom Corp poster next to the RV recruiter in Peregrine. Where the others, that you see in police stations, have slogans like "Fight The Good Fight" this one reads "Might For Right."
I was doing Indigo's arc when I noticed it, and given what "Might For Right" refers to in that story I was quite disconcerted to see it being used as a Freedom Corp slogan.
The "face" in the Shadow Shard. I found it by accident one day and couldn't find it again. It was kinda eerie. Like Easter Island, only creepier.

It's in the underground section. The entrance is in plain sight, but at the same time it's kinda hidden unless you like at it from the right way.
[/ QUOTE ]
You sure it's still there? I just combed through all the Grandville tunnrels that I know, clicking on every door and manhole cover I could find, but no secret room...

[/ QUOTE ]Yes, it's still there. Also, it's NOT behind a 'door' like an instanced mission/shop. It's more so a secret passage... I was able to just find it again just now after only a minute of looking (mostly the actual travel time).

The Shard has some beautiful scenery. They were everything I had wanted the Plane of Sky to be (have to remember that the Shard predates EQ2's Plane of Sky expansion pack.) I think it's possible that some of their devs admired it as much as I did even if whoever designed it never got much kudos here in CoH.
Nobody ever goes there because those 4 zones are just so freaking BIG.
BIG.

The Shadow Shard is a cheap ripoff of Anarchy Online's Shadowlands, which are much cooler, with way more variety in terrain.
Shadow Shard is yawn, because it looks the same everywhere except the Storm Palace.
I'm only ladylike when compared to my sister.

Doom.
Yep.
This is really doom.
There's a 'face' in the rocks of the Shadow Shard... as well as Rularuu's "throne" if you know how to look at it right.

Grr... Now I'm going to be spending days going back and forth through those tunnels. I swear I've everywhere down there twice, even the pipe room with the Arachnos soldiers doing all that welding...
EDIT: Found it! Much harder to find, IMHO, than the one in Faultline...
I've seen a screenshot of Rularuu's throne... I thought that was from an instanced mission? So it's actually somewhere in the 4 normal Shadow Shard zones?

Just saw what I think was the throne. Think it's in the first zone, near a base.
The picture I saw wasn't any sort of rock formation, but a MASSIVE decorated throne.

Actuallly, I think the picture I saw wasn't right... I think the rocks might actually be his throne...
