I'm not sure if it's a bug with the forums or what, but I keep randomly getting VIP forum access, which then lets me see at least the Beta forums on the index. However, it usually goes away after a few page changes.
Perhaps they're trying to get something in place. -
Quote:Ah yes. I had that one happen to me on my Bane a few days after VEATs were released. I'm fairly certain I reported it within minutes.I recall the door into the Midnight Squad headquarters being bugged for a while, too - this happened to me a few times:
Funny thing is, the bottom of the map also had statues and such. -
Quote:Something I never reported, but my integrated graphics card in my old desktop could let me see through walls. Every now and again my screen would flicker and the geometry would disappear, but I could see entities.A bug I used to take advantage off was to adjust the camera just in the right angle on an indoor map, to have the entire map vanish and see just floors and blackness. I also was able to see the location of every single glowie and enemy.
Was still possible recently, but not reliable because the camera somehow learned to snap back in fast. With all the changes to things like map marker after every enemy was dead, though, it was rarely something I cared to exploit in the last couple years. When the game was full of timed missions that required me to find a glowie though that bug was extremely valuable.
It was actually pretty useful, cause I'd be like, "Hold up, don't open that door. There's like 25 enemies back there." -
I have it in Subdue, since I was previously using Entropic Chaos in that power, which was in fact the only thing non-purpled in my build, besides sets that don't have that available. It's definitely a DPS increase, and it allows me to guaranteed hold anything with my rotation, since I'm built for single target with 1-hit KO AoEs.
I solo'd Mother Penelope and the majority of the previous incarnate bosses, so now it's time to see how I fair against Diabolique. -
If you already have them created, you can still play them. My VEAT main is perma-unlocked for whenever I alternate between VIP and F2P, because it only locks you out from character creation.

Quote:Okay, I had that issue on my old 5650.I have an ATI graphics card (I'm at work, so I don't have the model, but it's in the 5xxx series). I've noticed that when I'm doing a mission in the Praetorian labs (or the same map used in a tip mission, for example), my graphics card starts overheating. I have no problems with any other map. I can run for hours with no heating problems. But go to that map...even shortly after booting up the system...and I soon hear the "beep beep beep" of the heat alarm.
I'm open to suggestions (and I'll post my system info if anyone thinks it will help). I'm going back to the 11.3 drivers, to see if the <alt><tab> issue and other minor graphical issues are fixed. I can't see how the driver could be causing this, but software systems have gotten so complex, you never know.
Mostly I'm just curious if anyone has had a similar problem. The labs don't seem incredibly detailed. I've never had the graphics card get too hot during intense events (e.g. Rikti invasions) or other maps.
The way you can fix it is, get a stable 11.9+ driver. If I remember correctly, that helped with some fan/cooling issues. Personally, I'm using 11.10 on my 6870. Then, before starting the game go to task bar, near the clock. Find the icon that looks like an atom, then double-click it. In the Catalyst Control Center, which opened, click the Performance tab. Select the "AMD Overdrive" option. Make sure that Graphics Overdrive is enabled. Once that is done, select the Graphics Overdrive option on the performance tab. Enable "Manual Fan Control" and set the speed to roughly 75%. If need be, you can set it to 85% or so. Once done, click "Apply" and go about playing City of Heroes. -
If you summon a Lore pet in combination with another pet, it will give you the commands. I use it with my Arachnos + Blood Widow.

Do the Nightmares in the connection breaking phase count? That's where I've seen most of the monsters I was missing. I've seen Kronos, Deathsurge, Lanaruu, one of the other Shadow Shard guys, Avatar of Hami, and Bat'Zul in the first phase.

The map issue is a database issue. Didn't we get the same thing like, issue 7? It was related to map IDs shifting or something like that. I honestly can't remember, but I don't see it as a problem, especially with Reveal and VidiotMaps.

Didn't Devs say they wanted to move to a system like GR's? I assume once War Walls are taken down, we'll see that wall-based zoning, which is when a skybox like that might come into play.

What exactly can the set be slotted into?
I'd love to replace my lvl 35s in my only non-purpled out power, since I was going for the global recharge. I shall be even more OP than before. Penelope won't just get solo'd to 60% health next time..... -
For me, I had zero crashes with the 11.10 Preview, but 11.11 has been crashing me nearly every hour on my 6870. I'm installing the 11.12 drivers now to see if it fixed anything, since the OpenGL version changed, if I remember right.
Edit: And crashed. Back to 11.10 I go. -
My thought is that it's to prevent exploits caused by reverse engineering and packet editing. IE. If I hook a DLL to the process that was capable of sending "Attack" packets on command faster than an animation triggers, then it would trigger MARTy.
I highly doubt we'll see it in action, but there will be players coming from the F2P side that will attempt to find the aforementioned exploits. -

The 11.8 preview drivers for Windows 7 have been glorious for me.
The card in my desktop is a 4250, since my 6870 is in the mail, but I've experienced no lag or crashes so far. -
Quote:If a player is aware that they got the awards in the first place, why does it really matter? I mean, I'm not against the idea, but if a player is well aware that they've earned the Vanguard Pack, then they shouldn't have to use Vanguard Merits for much of anything.I was going to start a thread about a flaw I discovered with the Vanguard Pack, but I guess here is as good a place as any to post about it.
Because I'm a curious sort, I decided to see if the vanguard items that some of my characters haven't bothered to unlock yet were still showing up in the Vanguard table, and behold, they are, as well as the costume change emote sigil.
I foresee many a beefed players as they unwittingly spend vanguard merits on things they already have.
Can we please get the items to self remove themselves from the Vanguard Table List if you already have them, just like how they work when you actually purchase them using Vanguard Merits please? -

I enjoy the story, but I don't like it enough to read it 30 times. *Cough* BAF *Cough*
Outside of anything VEAT/HEAT, Praetorian, or Portal Corporation, I don't really read it. -

Quote:It did work on psuedo pets I know at one point, but something got broken from beta to live or shortly before live. Testing the tier 4 on the beta server is what made me get the damage procing interface to begin with. Sigh... I just wish the chance for knockdown proc would work with level shifts without scattering everything to the 4 winds. Caltrops would be devastating then.
Chance for KD works fine on my Dark Obliteration :/ -
Quote:I've had it occur too, generally in high enemy areas. May mean the server is fragmenting packets and when our client interprets them, it's calling that window to be opened.Again, this is part of the COH executable (look inside the .exe). Fuzzy Kittens above replied that they've also seen it.
Can't say for sure, but that's my speculation.
In addition to the above speculation, Vel appears to be Velocity. Perhaps a tool to create clones for testing? -
Quote:Honestly, I'd like the "Scared Run" that NPCs do when they see a robber in Atlas....And that's exactly what it is: Silly Run.
I know people dont care how stupid their 8' tall Broadsword Scrapper wearing the high-collar Magic cloak looks waiting for a TF to begin, as he stands there in Sillyninja stance; but I can't help but think how, well.... stupid he looks.
This also applies to the Beast run. Yeah. Retarded on non-animal players, or I guess people just don't care... but I don't get and never will get, how these two things are seen as Pure Awesomesauce + 1 bag of Doritos chips in your choice of flavor. I used Sillyninja one time to join friends on the opposite side of the Hollows as a level eight. That was it. Luckily no one but the usual +8 Hollows Death Mage Conventioneers saw me. Whew. 'Cause I was lookin' stupid. -
Quote:This is a server-sided error that we call "time dilation." As the server processes information about the mobs in the trial, it begins to slow down, which then causes (For example) 2 seconds in real time to be 1 second on the server's processing time.I know I'm not the only one on this, but after running 3 or 4 BAF trials yesterday it is starting to get extremely annoying and I'd like to figure out a way around this.
Simple issue: during the prisoner escape phase of the BAF trial I always, and I do mean always, have power recharge issues. This is the lag issue we see when there is too much activity and your powers appear to recharge before they are actually available.
Does anyone have a solution on how to work around this problem? I'm willing to dial my graphic settings (which are currently on max ultra and run anything outside of the BAF trial just fine) down to Atari levels if that is what it will take to run the trial smoothly.
Any suggestions?
In other words, there's not much we can do about it as players. -
I've experienced Judgement recharging, and that was just caused by death in a trial. I'd assume Lore falls under the same issue, but I never use it really.
