Catalyst 11.7 final is out

I logged in to post something like this.

I had some hiccups installing them, but I am certain that was specific to my system.

After I installed them and jumped in the game I had zero problems. My inactive contact list (which is famous for showing driver problems) has never looked better.

I haven't run any iTrials yet to give them a good workout.

Thanks for the update, Saist! I'll grab these as soon as I get home!

Thanks for the heads up, downloading now and keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, installed, only had time for two quick missions (first two re: benjamin decker) but no crashes. Need to see if ti solves the problem in C&C that had me try 11.6 to begin with, but that's not a coh matter.

Thanks for letting us know. After 11.6 wrecked my system I've been waiting for these, hoping they would redeem themselves.

Woo Hoo! I shall be installing then as soon as I can. Couldn't play the game for weeks now.

AMD HD 6870, Windows 7 64-bit.

Ran a Tin Mage Task Force with Catalyst 11.7. Experienced two loading crashes. I've had very few problems with Catalyst 11.2, so I've uninstalled 11.7 and replaced it with 11.2 again.

Given the recent track record, I think I'll wait a few days to see.

Maybe 11.8 will be magic, or sooner or later I'll just buy Nvidia again.

I'm installing the 11.7s now.

On 11.6, I'd get frequent lockups in Ultra Mode on my 5850; with Ultra Mode off, not a single crash.

Hopefully I can turn Ultra Mode back on now.

Installed and ran all morning with no hitches, first time since the 11.3 drivers! Aboot time! Had a crash at the every end of my play session but that might have been because of installing another game at the same time!

When you say you had a crash at the end of your session, do you mean when you were trying to log out?
I only had time last night for about 30 minutes after installing the new drivers, and it crashed when I logged out to character selection screen.

Waiting on more feedback before i upgrade.

OK, so I had the crash pretty badly. I went backwards and still had the crash. Having read that you did not need to "clean" the dirvers anymore from some unreliable source (I think it was Amd :P), I kept crashing until I followed the advice in these forums and used a clean sweep program before reinstalling 11.2. The crashing stopped--probably three days of rather heavy playing.

I upgraded last night, no problems, but just now had a crash. Not at a loading screen but the game just up and froze. Was able to get windows 7 to stop it.

Also, I have a recharge timer bug--sometimes my powers will get stuck and not recharge. I started a thread elsewhere but i'll post it here in case it's amd driver related.

Installed Catalyst 11.7 after a clean sweep last night, and hard-crashed (blue screen type, restarted) during the final phase of a BAF (didn't get reward).

Still looking for something that runs with current CoH build stably; I may try with 11.2, since I haven't tried that yet. (I've tried 10.8, 11.3, 11.4, 11.5, 11.6 with no sustained luck yet.)

Just a note:

If you are reporting a crash or a bug with the driver in this thread, please list the hardware that you have.

If you are not sure what hardware you have, GPUZ will allow you to post a window snap: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

Also, I need to reiterate: If you are experiencing a crash or a bug, Let AMD Know about the Problem.

I would encourage CoH users to also post on the AMD Game forums which are looked by AMD's engineers: http://forums.amd.com/game/ :: http://forums.amd.com/game/categorie...279&entercat=y

Still crashes, but takes a little over an hour now instead of 30 minutes. I've sent the bug feedback and going to stick with this version for now, it's bearable at least. This is with a radeon HD5870, if anyone else is hoping it'll improve for them.

I haven't seen anything telling me to do a clean sweep; could someone point me in the direction of what programs/ things I need to do? I'm running 11.3 and thinking of trying the 11.7 drivers.

It's fairly simple. Download Driver Sweeper (it's free) and install it. Uninstall your current drivers normally. Then boot to safe mode. Run Driver Sweeper and have it clean out the leftover bits of your old drivers. Boot back to normal mode and install the new drivers.

It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.

Ran around for a bit with 11.7 installed today, including looking through Ouroboros contacts (something that would always crash the game on previous driver sets). So far, everything is very stable, and I might just be imagining it, but I think it may actually be playing a little smoother to boot.

The real test will be when I get some actual game time in this weekend, running missions and trials and what-not.

Played for two hours on the 11.7s last night, no crashes. Radeon HD6970.

Feels the same as the 11.3 drivers I've been forced to use until now. Two hours is long enough that I would have crashed at least once.
