Taskforces Dead? No Way!

After the Positron TF I started a Synapse PuG TF, and got it completed in 3:21. I started this morning at level 10, and 6 hours later, I'm level 21 and am fully IOed out with level 20 IOs, which are almost as good as SOs and never expire.

NERF TFs!

You must be doing them with your circle of friends. omg so greedy and selfish of you and your friends to hog all the TFing. For shame. Kirby is disappointed at you <(v_v)>

I know. I'm such a bad person. I have a macro auto-reply that says, "NO, YOU CAN'T JOIN OUR TEAM, NOOB!!! JUST BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW YOU, LOSER!!!"

Never been a fan of TFs myself, they're always either grueling endurance tests or moving at such speeds that I have no idea what the hell we're doing. There's never an in-between, and I certainly don't care about them enough to start my own team. I'll do them occasionally when invited, but I have to be in a certain mood and in need of the badge too, a very rare occurrence.

That's me. Except ITF's with RO.

Just finished my third TF, Sister Psyche. That's 3 TFs, and 15 levels, in one day...

Red-side, I haven't done them at all. Don't have the need there either, but I rarely see any teams forming up for one. The one red-side has a bad rep, so I hear, something about a psychic tree that can one-shot you for miles, and a race to kill off a bunch of thorns? I know CoT are involved. It sounds obnoxious to tell the truth, but like I said I've rarely seen announcements about one starting up, certainly never been asked (unlike blue-side, where I get asked once a week or so.)

[/ QUOTE ]not nearly as bad as it sounds, ran it with a small pug team of lbxers a few months ago and it was quite fun. if your team has no cohesion then its going to be a long, painful process, but i have had itf's die from that, if you can work together and apply a basic strategy, the tree is easily manageable.

The Respec Trial, Hero-side you mean? I've done the mid-20s and mid-30s, little need to do them again, actually no need to do them the first time except for the badge and the experience (non-numbers). I have so many vet-specs at this point, and I'm not one to respec much anyway. I spent my last one for the sole purpose of rearranging my enhancements.

Sorry to derail the thread.

People often running all 3 red respecs back to back. Usually, it takes less than 1 hour to do all 3. BTW, last mission of all red respecs is the same as 3rd mission of STF, nothing special about it.

Yeah since i started lvling up character on Justice, omg it seems to be task force central. I am so impressed, everyone seems to want to run them.

Meaning if AE wasn't having a negative effect on teaming there would be no need for this thread to exist.

AE is still a problem. The anecdotal evidence of a handful of forum goers doesn't change that fact.

3 Taskforces done today...

Moonfire
Hess
Citadel

All PuGs, with me being the only repeat...

Citadel done on Rugged in 1:23. Faster than either of the heroic Moonfire or Hess. Wow, that was such a great team on Citadel.

That is all.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yup.

I don't know why people seem to be talking about this idea that somehow nobody does TFs anymore. My server (Justice) does a Saturday Matinée every Wednesday... I mean Saturday .

Anyway, this past Saturday I ran that Saturday Matinée TF, and then two more PuG TFs in the afternoon. I did the ITF, Sister Psyche and Bastion, all between about 1300lcl and 1800lcl, with much soloing in between. I was a busy boy that day, lemme tell ya.

Justice has always kinda been TF central, though. It's just that kinda server, which is why I've never played anywhere else.

Heck, it might just be me finally getting on the ball but people seem to be doing more Task Forces than ever.

Kinda funny how people see the ITF's popularity and assume it's a farm. It's not, it's challenging, epic and makes you earn every Merit. It's the kind of thing that makes you WANT to play it again!

I'll be the first to claim that there are some TFs that are better than others, but I love them all (except Positron... oh, my god, what a slog). I might be a little strange, though, I'm a TF wh*re.

That's what I'm called, by my SG.

And I love the ITF. It's a fun TF. And the last mission, so many ways to complete it, based on team makeup it varies to how to end it.

I prefere the rush Rom method. And after doing the rush Rom method without clearing the platform, I prefere that method even more now.

I prefer the anecdotal evidence on the forums that everything is fine to the anedotal evidence in your post that there's a problem.

Anecdotal goes both ways.

Oh yes do an ITF and survive that Mechman activation portion in mission 3 without at least one faceplant.. The only part of the whole TF I hate LOL

I too am a TF Wh#$! and have had weeks (recent ones since I 14 hit) where I have done at least 1 a day and sometimes two.

Posi is also my least favorite which is probably why I am in a situation where I need it on so many if I ever want TF commander *sniff sobs* Heheheh I actually did one last week where all but one player on the team was way above 15 and without Stealth we finished in 3 hours and 5 minutes I seriously wish to adopt all those team mates and keep them with me always WE ROCKED

Oh the breaking news story that good PUGs are dead is false as well. I have been on numerous ones the past few weeks some good, some bad but that is the very nature of the PUG.

This was all after work, of course.

Task Force's are petty much all I do anymore. I may solo a mission arc or 2 to unlock a zone or get a badge for a accolade, but TFs are where it is at. The faster the better too.

Okay, I really don't have a macro like that, but I don't do PUG TF's. I'll do PUG teams - in fact, I did a PUG team in Faultline the other night and invited one of the team members to my SG.

But no PUG TF's unless it's a really short one. I can suffer through a Katie TF with a bad team but a Positron TF with a bad team is not to be considered.

What would be "lulz," if it wasn't so sad, is the fact that you are perpetuating the "Devs hate farmers" stupidity.

The TV farm is still there. The Battle Maiden farm is still there. The Behemoth farm is still there. They are all waiting for you to harvest them.

The ONLY place farmers are being made to feel unwelcome, at least officially, is the Mission Architect. From the moment we were informed of the concept, the Devs told us that they did not want the Architect being used for farming. This is the only place that they are actively squashing farms.

The paragraph above is the truth. Put your hysteria and fearmongering away and accept it. Or don't. Your refusal to accept reality does not make you right, though. All it does is make you insane.

On topic:

Did the Sister Psyche Task Force with a PUG on Triumph last week (Wednesday and Thursday). Started with six, lost the tank in the middle of the second mission, and completed it with five (IIRC, it was two Controllers, one Defender, one Scrapper, and me, one Blaster) in just under three hours. We had one teamwipe (in the second mission) because we aggroed three spawns of Freakshow at once while the leader's difficulty was still cranked.

New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):
So, you want to join the Hellions? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
Sparks & Steel (level 5-20 Heroic arc)
and
So you want to join the Skulls? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
