which were not in the standard proportions. A ma freak mission is no different than some of the missions in the manti tf. or numerous radio missions. no exploit there.

So far, Freaks status as the new MEOW has yet to be proven. The general consensus in the thread so far has been, unless there is some bug that makes a specific Freak mob give out extra XP, that the comparison is unfounded. The OP is simply responding to or asking about a rumour he heard.

People are doing 51 bosses in my experience. They're much faster to cut through so the exp/time ratio is way better than trying to tackle 54s, regardless of whether or not you can take down 54s.

[/ QUOTE ]This is what I constantly tell everyone, lvl 54s just arent worth the time. I usually end up quiting teams that fight stuff that high. Unless you got a ton of support toons it just doesnt work well and you end up with more xp debt than the extra xp for the kills would have been.

Actually, the meows were using the [level 42] comm officers from the Sewer Trial, which were much higher XP than normal comm officers. Also, spawns of nothing but comm officers [when only one officer puts down the portal and the rest act like standard-to-weak minions] are hardly "Standard proportions".

Freaks are "standard" difficulty for, say, the 25-35 game. Nemesis, Malta, Carnies, Ruularuu are all harder and in the "good old days" that was what you got from level 40-50. Didn't use to have CoT/Council in newspaper missions.

... And we were struggling through them with only our vastly overpowered Issue 4 defenses to keep us alive.

It's a perception thing. People are starting to see the trees for the Forrest. As soon as they see a city map and one enemy type, they assume it is a farm. Never mind if the map and critters are part of the story. Farming is an action. Any non timed mission can be farmed. The OP probably hit a city map with freaks and labeled it a farm. Well, it is if you do it over and over again. If you do the objectives and leave, it is not.

That's all I am saying.

Edit: I actually considered making an enemy group with all Electric Blast mixed with Juicer and Stunner freaks and Sappers. Toss in a custom mob or two with a grantable +tohit and giggle at all the people complaining about it being "too hard" because their soft-capped character was getting end drained to death. Electric/Therm Corruptors don't have to be just PvP opponents...

In case you felt this was some kind of exploit, I feel I should mention that pointing out specific exploits on the forums for all to see is as frowned upon by the devs as those that actually do the exploiting.

Oh, and the dev's "are" doing something about those who exploit MA missions, they are p3rma-b4nn1ng accounts as well as stripping accounts of M.A.-Xp1oit bui1t characters. I know someone who had as many as 20 removed and 2 accounts p3rma-b4nnd. I don't think the dev's are too happy or proud to be forced to take these measures though (which I understand), hence why most posts about these r3movals/b4nz have been quickly de1eted to save face and keep the community at ease/happy. Also hence why I'm sorta doing a wee little to obscure those key words above lol, so they don't de1ete this too quickly I think it's perfectly ok that the forums know about these, it'll serve as a good warning to those who wish to further exploit MA missions. They will KNOW for sure that there are consequences to doing that.

The devs should just get it over with and cut MA rewards by 50%-75%. Maybe then the anti-farming brigade will calm down and stop calling every mission out there that does not meet their standards a farm.

I've seen a freak MA mission where there were A) only Lts. for mobs, and where there were B) lots of buffing helper npcs to rescue.

Other than that it was a Dreck map. Both of those things could probably be considered exploits or attempts at exploits. On the other hand, someone was dying on our team every 2-3 spawns, so it's not as if there was no challenge... and while the exp was good, I don't think anyone was likely to reach level 50 in 4 or 8 hours or even a full day.

To me it was a freak farm, slightly modified. As noted, people have been farming freaks for just about forever.

That's like saying "the amount of people who would have quit the game if ED hadn't happened is greater than the number who quit because of ED" or "the number of people who would have quit the game if PvP hadn't been changed is greater than the number who quit because of the changes." In other words, it's completely untrue. Besides, people aren't leaving because of the closing of "exploits" (Meows? Not an exploit. Snake Eggs and the Vanguard Ouroboros flashback? Those are exploits.), they're leaving because of how badly the entire situation was handled.
