My guess is that you will need the expansion to enter the new content. While in Preatoria you can do tasks to move your moral compass towards the opposite alignment. Once you hit the breaking point you can now then leave thru the other door. Red or Blue

So, my Batman-inspired MA/NIN Stalker I haven't made yet can eventually go to the Blue Side.

Interesting.

This is great. It adds some interesting possibilities and roleplay for our characters story wise anyway.

I assume when we decide to switch from evil to good that we will still have access to our old powers right? Like a stalker won't be converted into a scrapper or anything?

You have alot to work with here such as how the citizens will treat ex villains. How they will have to earn the trust of the citizens, etc.

I guess this also means you're going to merge the markets unless you plan to clear our inventories before we switch sides.

Friends don't let friends buy an ncsoft controlled project.

You will probably have to chuck things into your bank and carry the rest on you before you leave. Get everything off the market before you leave. That's the way EQ2 handled betrayal. One last questgiver warned you to tie up all your loose ends before taking the final betrayal step because you wouldn't be allowed back later. I'd guess that your personal bank will probably still be yours no matter what side you're on but you'll lose whatever is on WW's that you didn't sell before you changed sides.

Well, after four years and 10 or more free expansions since the last one, I'm not going to begrudge them the price of another boxed set.

Not sure how long CoX is going to hang on as my MMO of choice, but I have to give them credit, they're working their butts off to keep improving the game, and that counts for a lot.

Hokay.

Will likely cost money.

I am down with that.

I wonder if they will market the boxed edition with an included sub key for the entire game...

That way they could legitimately put out a boxed version that costs like $40+ and gives items and junk.

Then they could put out a purchaseable key that comes with no free time, no items or junk, and is only $19.99

And offer the items seperate for say....$9.99.

This way they get all of us who already have the game for $30 and new people for only $10 more....

My head hurts.

Just a minor question...

Are the villain missions going to be a bit more villainy? I'm not asked for the whole "MWAH-HA-HA Watch me boil puppies and skin orphans!!!" thing, but as a villain, I seem to spend the majority of my time fighting other villains more than those costumed buffoons of Paragon City.

I'm tentatively possibly excited about this, but please tell me that we're going to be a bit more villainy.

Oh, and does this push back I-15 even further?

[/ QUOTE ]

No - it's been in the works for a bit already (GR) and Box expansions get their own staff.

[/ QUOTE ]

Huh. Wonder if they'll bring in Zeb Cook again.

That's my take on it. I don't mind paying for something I'd want or like. And they've been going up and up (with a slight hiccup with Issue 13) the almost two years now, AND, they've managed to keep me interested. For over half a decade now.

*empties his pockets to give Positron his lint* "The lint's an IOU for the next expansion. I'll bring the bucks if you bring the box."

If you look at crime statistics like the murder rate, it becomes obvious that criminals wind up fighting each other over turf far more often than they shoot it out with the cops. Fighting with the cops brings way too much unwanted attention from organizations that have far more resources than fellow criminals.

So it makes a lot of sense that a pack of greedy, vicious, back-stabbing crooks would spend a lot of time plotting how to viciously back-stab other crooks and steal their stuff.

Logically speaking, then, it makes sense for criminals to keep a low profile and maximize profits by first eliminating the competition that can be more easily eliminated.

Morally and ethically speaking, as designers and consumers of an entertainment product, it's a lot easier to rationalize committing hideous acts against vicious criminals than against people who are just trying to protect the innocent.

As a rule, the comics genre doesn't foster sheer mayhem without some moral and ethical qualms for the protagonists. Even the dark heroes are conflicted when they do terrible things. When they aren't, it's usually a manifest lesson about why they should be and what happens to them when they aren't. The truly bad guys don't usually come to a good end.

If you want to maim and kill, go find a game that lets you maim and kill. Don't demand CoX change to suit your whims when the end result will be bad for the game in general (a more severe rating, bad PR, etc.).

This is really exciting alright. I'm just hoping the hardware requirements stay similar, my old box has been chugging away on this game for years, when CoV came out I took a framerate hit but everything still hums along.
I have no problem at all paying for an expansion, I would expect to see some big new zones and new mission maps!! For the Love of Pete, new MISSION MAPS! I'm so sick of caves and warehouses my head would explode... ;D

I guess CoH: Going Rogue went rogue on it's own.

It looks interesting. I stopped playing my Dominator because I dislike the villian content so much. It will be good to finally bring it over to the hero side.
