How I made it this long I'll never know. I wonder what my max level is going to be? I used to ignore my birthdays but now they feel like an accomplishment, still here, still sane and still lucid (although my oldest son might argue that point).

I have an ATI 5870 and it rocks, however Anti-aliasing seems to crash games so I turn it off (I seem to recall having this problem with other ATI cards). Incidentally, I replaced my 9800GT with the ATI card and it was worth it, even if I can't use the Anti-aliasing.
-
If you take out the XP then I'm would only play the MA arcs on level 50 characters as there is some reward for them. No XP is pointless for the characters I'm trying to level up.
I am whole heartily against removing the XP. I would rather they balance it correctly. I would even accept certain limits on the xp and how it is gained, say half xp for the mobs and then when you actually finish the arc you get bonus xp equal to what you earned. This would make players actually finish the stories instead of abandoning them. You could also cap the amount of XP based on Length of Mission, Difficulty Level and computed "Challenge Rating" of the mission, and which mission number it is in the arc (first mission doesn't give out as much as the second and so on). I would also be fine if they added XP debt into the MA system which is the single biggest reason in my mind for playing even crappy arcs because there is no risk involved, -

AE officially now sucks. Not only it has been nerfed the mishes with just bosses are so much tougher and no one does normal mishes anymore so the new issue just screwed everything.

You truly live up to your forum name. -
So I decided to do some more testing and I add Positron to the mission (States was already in the mission before today's patch) and guess what? His description exceeds the limit also.
-
So I was a little shocked when I checked a test mission I had and the single error now showing up is that the Statesman default description text now exceeds the field limit.
Made me chuckle. -

The rewards for defeating Rikti Communications Officers in Mission Architect has been decreased to match other minion level critters. Missions using earlier versions of the Rikti Communications Officer will be invalidated, and will need to be republished.

I'm pretty sure players have figured out how to implement Omnipotence. Anyone who can solo an AV has reached that point IMHO. The only thing left is for someone to solo Hami -

Playing this with a Level 11 BS/WP Scrapper.
Nice touch with the introductory poster.
Mission 1: 15 minutes timed. The blue text is very difficult to read. The mission was really fun though. We need more low level missions and a search function to find them, IMO. Custom Boss looked very cool and matched his name perfectly. Your ally is perfectly balanced. Quick, but fun mission worth 5 stars.

Thanks for the feedback and I changed the blue text to a lighter shade, much easier to read now. -

So far, go good. Before I even got into Open Beta, I had story ideas floating around inside my head. The real trick was to see what could be done in the Mission Architect, and what could not. Needless to say, writer's block was not an issue.
However, making one's own preconception about how a story arc should play out and what the exact capabilities of the MA Editor were have been a struggle. Finding the map that best fits a mission, limiting the number of custom characters you put into a story, making best use of preexisting character models and then renaming a few just to save some space, working withing the 100k limit, not overpowering your custom characters so that they either dominate the mission or dominate the player characters (unnecessarily), And of course, making sure all the text is spelled correctly (minus flavor text spellings).
The biggest thing that took me by surprise though, was that once I had thought that I had play tested the story arc enough (at least about 5 times through) and released it, I kept going back and fix, changing, running text dialog back through spelling and grammer checkers (WORD 2007), or modding it. It was like I had released an Open Beta version of my Mission Arc.
I'm wondering if this is a lot like what the Devs experience when they release new story content in Beta on the Test Server.
How has the MA Authorship experience been for you? What stumbling blocks have you encountered that you didn't expect and what did you find easy? Has this given you a new appreciation or understanding for how much effort it actually takes to make new story content?

I only have 1 thing to add to this.
The MA system has eaten my brain and devoured my soul. -

I'm working on my first arc after being out-of-game for six months and have a million questions, but I'll keep my first question on topic.
What would be the best way to make a Custom enemy that isn't too powerful for low levels, but not too easy for high levels?
I want my arc to be friendly for all levels, but I really want to keep my custom group.
[/ QUOTE ]
Avoid giving the mob hard ratings or even medium ratings on their powersets. Only give them what they need. Too many people crank up that rating to give their special mob the powerset they wish they had. The problem is that a mob with a lot of attacks always has an attack ready to use. This means nonstop attacks against the player and if several of those attacks include some kind of status effect then the enemy can lock down a single player very easily. Put 3 of those mobs together and they become impossible.
Only make an EB or AV when needed by the story. These guys can get out of hand very quickly. An EB will scale down depending on difficulty and team size but I don't think an AV will.
Also remember that giving your mobs defense makes them a lot tougher. They don't always need much expecially EBs and Avs. They are tough to start with. -
I will try to play one or yours tonight. Here is mine.

Have you tried a custom group with just the boss?
-
Try going into your My Creations and groups, then edit the group and make sure that all mobs are included in the group. Then go into your Arc, change the group and encounters to a standard group then Save & Exit. Go back in and change the group back your custom and choose each mob.
I had this problem because I was editing multiple characters for a group and forgot to change the group name on some of them as it defaults to All Custom Characters and not the group you are editing. -
Subjective: Name confusion for unlockable group 1960s Arachnos appears as Arachnos 25-34 in Editor.
