Nooooo, not the Rikti. Oh well, fun while it lasted and I knew it wasn't going to last long. Definitely got some boring low-level characters up to where I'm interested in playing them now despite the change. Finally, I am close to getting my Brute's T9 lightning power.

Base breaking bug is back with this patch also. Seems random, but about 10 different people i talked to in game this morning, could not access their own bases, or anyone in the coalition's bases either.

Was exp and inf given back to the rikti summoned by the comm officer, or are they now minions who summon a bunch of friends you have no reason to fight? After all, risk vs reward, right? Where's the reward for fighting something that has no reward?

I never bothered with Rikti missions/arcs even if they were "gimped" and gave crazy xp because I really hate fighting them.

I was just fine with Grandville having at least one person LFT and I hope that now I can find people to join me in the quest for Purples again.

However, if that base deletion bug is back as someone said, maybe it's time I take that depression management class.

Thanks for indirectly reminding me to revisit my "Attack of the Zombie Catgirls from Planet Glam" arc. It's a one mission popcorn arc but I want it to remain something that a Defender could solo at the easiest difficulty setting.

First, at least by the description, Mission Builder is NOT the same as Hall of Fame (unless the requirements for HoF are about to be eviscerated). It says 100 votes with an average of 4 stars.

Second, the boss changes apparently went in. So in Butterfly Effect, the AV now gets Total Focus. Meaning he can one-shot so many characters. I'm already getting complaints. In preparation to these changes, I added allies to the other two arcs in the series, but as it's a dev choice, it's locked.


My arcs are constantly shifting, just search for GadgetDon for the latest.

I bet ya the summoned minions won't give squat. So nobody will want to fight the comm officers, just like nobody wants to fight the family since the xp nerf.

As far as I know, the XP change was to architect critters only. Rikti Comm Officers in groups of actual real non-virtual Rikti probably still give normal EXP.
Checking that right now.

This just in: I was right. Stop doomsaying. Only Mission Architect Comm Officers had their rewards reduced.

You have defeated Communications Officer
You gain 9,029 influence.
You have defeated Infantry
You gain 3,160 influence.
You have defeated Advanced Drone
You gain 2,633 influence.

Now get back out there and fight REAL pretend bad guys!

I wasn't taking about the xp/inf change for MA vs non-MA.

I was saying that the minions summoned by rikti comm officers probably "won't give squat".

Missed patch notes:

Group banner items have their texture back. The arcane and tech banner 1 texture is still broken.

Group symbols ( Bomb, Globe, Lightning 2, the letter X, the number zero, Club, Diamond 1, Hourglass, Ornate 2, and Shield 1 ) that were not displaying correctly on base items are now fixed.

if every comoff dropped a portal and summoned a small army at every spawn I could see your point, but as I have never seen that happen, I dont see a problem with it.

Right now I think I'm going to end up turning everything I have down to standard. I'll make a post later to compare just how much this patch changed all my units. After I do that, I'm not going to touch MA stuff until i15.

Another bugfix not mentioned: Chat Binds no longer add in the key you bound it to at the end of their beginchat text. However, standard "Press enter or / to open chat box" functionality still has a tendency to give you "wwwwwwwss dddeee/b www w ww qqqqqq" syndrome.

/bind shift+L beginchat /send "Virtue LFG" <$name, $level $archetype>
No longer adds an extra L after the name/level/AT section. Rejoice! ))

I think the fix was partial. I was in Cap a while ago and still saw stuff like 11122111112<message> in broadcast. Probably someone spamming powers then hitting enter to start chatting.

Please explain to me how Risk vs Reward is supposed to work then? I'd hate to continue thinking wrongly, and you seem to be in the know.

Is the custom critter's detailed powered info correct?

If so, then I'm a little confused on how effective the melee powersets ranged attacks are. For instance, Martial Arts average damage on powers;

Thunder Kick = 224
Storm Kick = 353
Crane Kick = 524
Eagles Claw = 610
Shuriken = 701

What? Shuriken does more damage than Eagles Claw? Sure, it only does 508 up front, but the rest over just 4.25 seconds...

Correct me here if I'm wrong, but most melee heavy NPC's in the game before you tried to stay at range to avoid their heavy hitters. Such as Freakshow tank, you stayed away from the big claw/hammer but took the disc/focus thing they through. But against a Martial Arts critter I'd rather take a fricking Eagles Claw to the head than a Shuriken...

What about the bug that is letting people not train and still get xp? Normally , in a TF, whether or not your train you still stop getting xp once you level to the cap of the mission.

Aw man, bases are re-broke. I just sat on the loading screen for my base for almost 5 minutes and it hung at around 2%. I had to hard shut-down the game.
