I'm glad they fixed the Rikti, the farms were fun but I was ready for things to go back to normal.

But I seen farms that fought custom critters, wont they still be in effect?

These devs seem to be good with nerfs, lousy when making things like bases work.

Bleh, a lot of the critter difficulty/rank tweaks are really, really ugly. Some of them are really, really nice, but most of them seem to make things worse (I'd swear that whoever set up Mace thought that Clobber was still control similar to Cobra Strike and not the second strongest ST power in the set).

Here's to hoping I15 and its better power selection comes quickly.

Exactly the bug helped me level up some of the alts I have. Good while it lasted, can't complain that it's gone. Still love the COX universe.

I only got the first badge. Is the counter broken?

Giving melee power sets ranged attacks may mitigate that to some extent, but you're probably right. Actually, I've seen signs that the PLers have moved on from that, although there's a single fix for all of these that would put a stop to the practice real fast.

But seriously, bases are re-broke? How does that keep happening?

They left out:

Chat Bind Bug: Fixed

Fly Emote Bug: Fixed (at least the one where some toggles interfered with the fly emotes)

and although I think the changes, and proposed punishments are harsh, those above two fixes, totally aces in my book. So happy I could care less about the rest of the mess.

That does seem to be something they overlooked. They have to regularly revisit missions after things change to quash unforeseen bugs resulting from updates, and they also add new mechanics and features that were unavailable when a mission was first designed from time to time; they really should allow Dev Choice authors the opportunity to do something similar.

FINALLY! Thank God, yes... Communication Officers nerf, the game will make an attempt at returning to normal. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.
It was fun while it lasted, though. But there is definitely such thing as too much of a good thing!

Anyone see a list of maps that they removed with this patch? I can't seem to find one, but I do see that the map used in the climax of my first arc (Crey Hero Lab) is now missing.

I'd hate ta agree, but this is so true. Why don't they stop worrying about nerfing things like slow powers and worrying about how much XP is given out by a Rikti ComOff and start worrying about actual gameplay itself? The ability to get in one's own base, let alone fear of editing it as you might break it can turn people off to begin with. Worrying about what custom critters do what on AE's is useless. That system's, while a magnificent idea, is already screwed up to begin with. Ticket's? Already after Merits? It would appear that they're trying to do away with infamy/influence altogether to beat out the online "salesfolks" who sell it to begin with. Every MMO has an off-site seller, and if you want to waste real dollars buying it, that's your loss. It would be better if NCSoft sold it, at a discount, like a Cyborg or Magician's Pack. So if I was a Dev, I'd worry more about gameplay and smoothing out all the bugs YOU as a Dev made rushing stuff and screwing it up, and less about how people are going to "abuse" the system's already in effect, like AE's and Orob. Want membership to reverse and go up? Iron out the bugs, no offense, I15 can wait.

Bosses with melee powersets getting the highest damage single target attack in the set on standard is plain ridiculous. The damage on the ranged attack powers seems too big as well. There are other problems with the changes as well. For instance, Dark Miasma gets Darkest Night, an AOE -15% to-hit debuff and -30% damage debuff on standard. Even minions get this.

This should definitely be on hard again like it used to be. Tar Patch isn't nearly as bad as Darkest Night. Honestly, the best thing to give them on standard in my opinion would be the heal, shadow fall, and maybe one of the control powers for higher ranks.

"fun while it lasted" says it all: another nerf that removes fun from the game and drives me a step closer to cancelling my account and going back to games that actually keep me engaged on the Nth play-through. I can do 20 characters in a certain *other* 10-million-plus-player MMO without having to repeat content. If city is so pathetic people need to farm to 50 then give them the ability to do so.

you, sir, are in the (very vocal) minority.
We don't need exploits. I am sure people will find something else. I already know of something new that people who saw this coming are doing. Farming will always be I am sure, but everyone knows that something like this was ruining the game for the multitude.

You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can not please all of the people all of the time. As long as the majority agrees, then it is good...and I am pretty sure the majority of people wanted this.....

However, I wasn't wild about all the threats/promises that Posi said. If it ends up affecting me, I'll just go elsewhere and find something new to play. It is no big deal.

Something that wasn't in the release notes is that the length of the description allowed for an escort seems to have been reduced from over 338 to an even 300 characters which is shorter than the default description for a standard EB I was using. This made my arc unplayable and so naturally I went and unpublished it before I could figure out the problem. Sigh. So much for actually having somebody rate it

Agreed! I've spent much of the day both hearing what people are saying about my missions, and running some other missions with my level 35 DB/Regen scrapper.

Listening...in Butterfly Effect, I have an AV (demoted to EB for most people) with Energy Blast/Energy Manipulation (chosen as a "weaker" energy melee). All day, I've been hearing far more "that guy is unkillable". And running my 35th level db/regen scrapper in...yeah, pretty much without a number of third tier inspirations. For my other arcs, I've had to add allies. So it's a fight between the NPC foe and the NPC ally with the player as sidekick. Not exactly heroic.

I've also been running other arcs. Now, I've run regen scrappers for a long, long time. In-game content, I can deal with most EBs and AVs demoted to EBs, with maybe a little help from inspirations. But post-patch, if there's an EB demoted to a Boss or an AV demoted to an EB, the best I could get was use a half dozen third tier inspirations and maybe succeed with only one death.

The damage put out is just WAY out of whack. And it's killing a lot of fun when using the AE as designed. The choices seem to be team, only do missions without any real resolution so no big foe to fight at the end, or do missions where there's an NPC to be the real hero or villain while I help out.

*sighs* The captured Energy Field FX was just perfect for one of my missions... (psychic) can't we have both animations? Btw, this current Enerhy Field looks basically the same as Floating Struggle (green energy)
