City of Heroes Going Rogue - FAQ - Discussion
Will City of Heroes: Going Rogue have a neutral alignment!?
I think it would be awesome to be an "on the fence" player that has Heroes and Villains in a Supergroup together that is dedicated to being on neither side (i.e. a neutral aligned Supergroup).
We already have Dual Pistols in the game...
Check out Malta Gunslingers...
Gunslinger
Some of the most deadly Operatives in the Malta Group have been given the nickname Gunslingers. This name came into common usage not only because the agents use firearms, but because they also tend to have the same kind of cocky attitude and cow boy mentality that one associates with gunslingers in the old west.

snatch. ftw.
Not as intresting, but we also already have Demon Summoning. Check out Infernal:
Infernal
Main Article: Infernal
A master of demon binding and summoning from another dimension, Infernal's boundless willpower allows him to control the many fiends he has forced into his service. As a member of the Vindicators, he often assists Numina of the Freedom Phalanx.

Demon Summoning Summon 4-5 Demons Infernal can summon demons if there is trouble.
Resistance +Resistance (Lethal, Smashing, Energy, Fire, Cold)

but WE don't have access to those power sets. THATS what pple are wanting. I don't care what the NPCs can do, I care what I can do.
Oh, I know. I just posted so people will have some idea of what the power sets may include and can stop posting ridiculous ideas of what the power sets 'will' be.
In reality, I think the Dual Pistols will be somthing similar to the Thug MM pistols. I also think Demon Summoning will be another MM power.
I am thinking there will be several new and re-hashed powers. Just like CoV introed a whole new bunch af ATs, so should Rogue. New zones and maps should be there too. I think they said more info in July so...

I bet you two nickels to a doughnut that if we do get a Dual Pistols set that these powers will DEFINITELY be part of it. If the devs have shown us one consecutive trait it's their laziness knows no bounds and if they can just copy/paste powers they will

Or if they can test power sets on an NPC before a large player base...Lazy or brillaint you decide.

[/ QUOTE ]Considering the NPC in question in this case has been around for years, I'm gonna have to go with lazy.
I dont agree with lazy.
theres alot going on with importing, animating, making sure it correctly ports with different body styles/sizes etc...
theres that and they have to do what they are allowed. or what they are told by their bosses...
at least thats what I am lead to believe.
this coming from a starved base editor. sheesh!
Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

I don't see your lvl as an indication of how much they trust or distrust you. That implies that a Lvl 50 has more trust then a lvl 5. When it really just means how high a threat they think you can be trusted to handle. It is a gauge of your power not how much they trust you, but rather what they trust you can handle.

Perhaps. Does it make any sense for a level 50 villain to side-switch into a level 50 hero and immediately be a "Hero of the City", though? That would seem weird, to me. Of course, we have no idea how it's going to work, so it's all fun speculation at this point.

It's not like badges have an objective reality in the game world. They're metagame rewards, not canon in-game titles.

The original marketing survey that discussed Going Rogue mentioned a "Neutral" alignment (Called "Rogue"). All new characters would start neutral and would be able to, by their actions, pick a side. It also implied that you could continue to stay "rogue".
Of course all that could have changed now, but there's good reason to hope that it may yet manifest.
Rather than search through to see if this was brought up I'll just ask. Is there going to be a lvl requirement to "Go Rogue"? Can a lvl 2 corrupter have a change of heart? Can a lvl 10 scrapper get mad at the world? Or do both have to wait until they are at a higher lvl?
The official FAQ says you can switch sides and switch back. Did they change that and not update the official faq page? Was hoping this game was now organized enough not to pull that crap of not updateing faq when changing features.
sbrannon-- we don't have that answer yet.
Zwoof-- I have no idea what you're talking about, since no one's (with a red name) said that you can't switch back and forth.

I can't wait so I can have my warshade fall back to being a Nictus.
Are there Clawed Gloves for scrappers and stalker's powerset claws?

Unless something has changed, new characters start neutral and, through some early choices, pick one side or the other. That would imply that the experience is open for characters of any level.
OK so I was thinking, that while playing on Co-Op teams it's going to kinda hard to tell who's villain and who's hero once Going Rouge comes out.
As it stands the easy method is looking at the Archetype symbols but what if there was another way.
I was thinking changeing the coloring of said Archetype symbols so that there are 3 different variations of each symbol. The symbols we currently have would become Neutral or Rouge.
For heroes a blue tint would be added to the original coloring. This would turn Scrappers from yellow to green. Defenders on the other hand who are allready Blue would use white in place of blue makeing them a brighter color of blue.
For villains a red tint would be added to the original coloring. For a Stalker this could make that cross hairs red. For something like a Corrupter that's allready red black could be used insted to simply make it a darker red.
This would allow people to easily tell who their allys and enemys are.
Besides my neutral SG idea... I think they should make it so you can give gifts when a teammate is down on a Coop team (i.e. A villain hands a hero an awaken).

I was actully on a team where someone said and I quote. "I can heal you, buff you, and rez you but I can't give you an insperation because you're an enemy. WTF?"
Unfortunatly I can't remember who it was that said it.

I've heard that line, or similar things, for years. It's high time it was fixed.
I think the deal is that they didn't want to make it possible for enemys to trade or give gifts and there probly isn't a way to seperate different trade types right now. Like I think it would be understandable that you don't want to give your enemy Enhancments because why would you want to give them something that will make them perminatly stronger. But anything that "this is only tempory while I'm working with you" makes perfect sence.
The whole idea of heroes and villains working togeater has allways been "this is a tempory arrangment and then I'll go back to trying to kill you or arrest you tomarrow."

I don't think that logic works. Becuase that means each time you swap, you would have to go back to lvl 1. That means lvling up a lot and constantly losing your enhancements.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would be a drawback of the extreme flexibility of switching sides, not a logical reason why it couldn't be done.
I don't think any enhancements need to be lost, either. They could just scale down using the exemplar code, and you would regain set bonuses and whatnot as you level up, getting the powers in the order you took them in your most recent respec.
Pure speculation. I'll be interested in how they do it. I won't be surprised if they don't require a decrease in levels. I won't be surprised if they do.
