Lighthouse good luck. I've enjoyed conversations with you at several events, and reading your posts. All the best in whatever you do.
My postings to this forum are not to be used as data in any research study without my express written consent.
Lighthouse, thanks so much for all that you did for all of us, and a special thanks fot the time you helped our SG celebrate its 3-year anniversary. All the best to you and here's hoping your future is filled with happiness and good stuff..I really hope you will pop in these forums from time to time and say hi. You have many friends. Normally you can't "resign" and be gone in a day or two. You have to give notice, a couple of weeks normally.
Chances are his gaffs over the last few weeks have been from "checking out". You know, that period after you give your notice that you just don't really give a damm about what your doing at your job as you only have a week left.
Hes a smart guy, and an adult. I doubt hes leaving because of any game related decision. Perhaps a business related decision, an opportunity or personal reasons. Also we only know Lighthouse, I doubt many of us know Alex and understand what decision he has made.
Let the man leave with dignity, and let the speculation cease. Give him some respect people.

No you don't. That's just a courtesy that employees tend to give their employers. This way, an employer isn't "caught with their pants down", and can train or plan for a replacement... and it gives the employee a better shot at a decent reference, if needed. It behooves both parties, but notice isn't mandatory. Really, what consequence could an employer dole out to an employee who resigns and leaves the same day?

I dont post often on here but I have posted a couple times when we have lost a Redname. . . I am saddened to do it again.
I was fortunate enough to have you on my team during a couple betas including a mothership raid shortly after the RWZ revamp went to open beta. You were funny, insightful, and a great team player both in game and on the forums.
You will be missed and it goes without saying. . . But best of luck to you Lighthouse!

Time. What a funny thing. In retrospect it seems like it was only just yesterday to recall my first posts on the forums. Yet, when I fill in everything that ensued over the last two years, a collage of details swims up at me: Issue 8, Veteran Rewards, lewtz!, Aliens, comics, Fanzines, flashbacks, player events, Trade shows, City Scoops, articles, all the awesome people at NCsoft Ive had the opportunity to work with, and so much more. Even having said this, Im still excited to for the future of the City of Heroes franchise. Having been privy to some of the many plans that are in work, know that I will be right there beside you playing and enjoying the fruits of the Development Team and NCsofts hard work. I leave knowing that you are in good hands.
I want to wish you all the very best for everything the future holds in store.

A tad harsh, given that they know as much as you do about the actual reason for Light's departure, that is to stay n o t h i n g.
You have a sudden 'resignation', it's posted later on a Friday, a known news cycle vortex for dumping bad publicity and you have an apology for what amounts to telling the truth, albeit of behind the scenes info.
