Farewell, Lighthouse.

I'm sorry to see you go, but glad you survived long enough to do so. (Gods knows that can't have been easy.)

And yet... I find myself disappointed to see you leave. I hadn't realized it until now, but some small part of me was waiting for the day I'd come home from work to find that someone had pushed you too far, and you'd decended upon the forums like the wrath of an angry god, leaving a shocked and stunned silence in your wake.

... oh well. We'll get the next guy.

While I haven't been a big active member on this site, I help run another board and I'm a dad so, I just want to say thanks. You have been a kind voice in the past 2 years. I wasn't around these parts long before you came aboard. Having you around made the transition between CoX newb to CoX player easier.

Lighthouse,

I am sorry to see you will be leaving. It was obvious you cared a lot about this community, this game and the players involved, it showed in your posts and in your work and at Hero Con where you were gracious and very respectful and nice to all of us players who sat in on the panels flinging questions at the devs.

My girlfriend I met you briefly at Hero Con after dinner and griped for a moment about being censored on the forums and I rather enjoyed our short conversation. Though I don't know you aside from that one short meeting, you struck me, (as you always have on the forums) as a really great guy, and the community digest tracker is just not going to quite the same anymore.

I hope they retire your Red Name and give you a big monument somewhere in the game. I sincerely wish you the best in life and in your new opportunities, and thank you again for bringing your light to this community for the last 2+ years!

Damnnnnn. I think that's the first time I've actually seen a member of the staff get sacked for telling the players the truth. It's unfortunate Lighthouse that your getting fired because you had the audacity to actually tell the players the truth and now they are using you as a sacrificial lamb. But consider this man. If this is how NCsoft treats their employees then your better off. I would not want to work for a company like that which lies to it's players and uses it's employees as scapegoats. Your better off moving on because I would not want to work for such a company myself personally.

Best of luck with your future endeavors especially in a volatile market like were in now but I'm sure you'll find work and get back on your feet quickly and hopefully for a far better company than you do now.

ok, seriously.....

It is VERY inappropriate and and inconsiderate to be making public assumptions and gossiping all over LH's goodbye thread. The circumstances revolving around his leaving NCSoft are none of anyone's business. Everyone is blaming the company and getting their parting shots on here, and it really shows a low quality of character. For all anyone knows, he could have quit because he got tired of the community's crap. It's not like babysitting a bunch of emotionally irrational people is an easy job. Seriously if you're not going to at least show a little consideration, try to find another thread to dump on. Show that we were a community that he would have wanted to work with as long as he did.

Sadness man... you've been awesome to the forum community and I think this game boasts one of if not the best forum on the net, in no small part to guys like you. Good luck wherever life leads you.

A small (utterly craptacular graphics wise, I had a bad comp then) pic of when lighthouse was new! Think it was the issue where vet rewards came out, as I remember thinking "ooooh trenchcoat!"

I'm sad to see you go; you've always been a voice of reason and calm on the board. I am awed by your ability to shrug off the constant negativity displayed by the community. Don't get me wrong now, I love the coh forums, but in such a large group of people there's bound to be negative feelings, jackasses and other bad things. Lighthouse took care of all of them.

I have a really hard time believing that you simply resigned just now at this time. I cant help but think that whatever happened in the PvP Change threads are somewhat linked to your resignation...

Good luck anyway. I hope that sudden departure will end bringing to you job opportunities you werent expecting.
