Why does it seem like everywhere I go (game wise) the community relations guys end up leaving?

Yet, when I fill in everything that ensued over the last two years, a collage of details swims up at me: Issue 8, Veteran Rewards, lewtz!, Aliens, comics, Fanzines, flashbacks, player events, Trade shows, City Scoops, articles, all the awesome people at NCsoft Ive had the opportunity to work with, and so much more. Yet through it all its been you, the games community, which stands out to me the most. When Im in game playing and see a new player getting advice in /help or a global channel, when I read threads on the forums or when I open e-mail or private messages, Ive always been impressed at the quality and caliber of people that make up this games community.
However, this world we live in is not a static place. If anything, one certainty we have is the knowledge that things change. It is with this in mind that I write you today to say that Im making a change. I have decided to pursue other opportunities outside of NCsoft.
Even having said this, Im still excited to for the future of the City of Heroes franchise. Having been privy to some of the many plans that are in work, know that I will be right there beside you playing and enjoying the fruits of the Development Team and NCsofts hard work. I leave knowing that you are in good hands.
I want to wish you all the very best for everything the future holds in store.

Thanks for your support of the City of Heroes community, and I wish you well. We've had disagreements now and then, but nothing too serious I hope (certainly nothing less than civil), and on the whole, I think you did a good job. Hopefully you'll look back on your days at NCsoft with good memories and a sense of pride. If I have one regret, it is that we never did get to meet in person.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.

well it is a tough job, have to listen to our complaints,knowing a lot of things are in the works, but having to keep your mouth shut,.having to put spin on a bad problem, worse yet maybe having to lie to your customers(not saying he did ,jsut his type of job in general)dealing with egos and powerplays in the office( not saying he did ,jsut his type of job in general)

I do not think you and I have ever interacted directly LH, I post rarely and have only ever sent in two or three PM's for the entire time I have been on these boards. Even so, I'm sorry to see you go.
This job can not be an easy one sometimes but you have certainly handled well and fairly and kept your temper and always strove to be fair and and considerate even when so many others have abandoned their decorum. Those are qualities that serve anyone well and I have no doubt you will be a considerable asset where ever it is that you wind up. Thanks for all your work here. You will be missed and remembered.

There was clearly a disconnect between LH and the other rednames or he would never have been forced to post his PVP retraction statement. Yes, I do believe he was forced and this departure is no coincidence.
If I had to guess I would say that NorCal is in a bit of upheaval right now over the direction the game is taking and we, as a community, are going to suffer from its implosion.

Community Relations to me would be like running the PR department of an unpopular political party. Anything you say for the people is misinterpreted as an attack on one segment, whilst anything you announce being done for them is seen as taking away from another.
It's selfless, thankless, and often not recognised. I will be one of those to recognise it and offer you my best wishes....I was surprised to hear of you leaving and I certainly hope you will become known as a fixture on these boards as a player with a clearly stated vision now that you're out of the current administration.

I really don't.
Normally you can't "resign" and be gone in a day or two. You have to give notice, a couple of weeks normally.
Chances are his gaffs over the last few weeks have been from "checking out". You know, that period after you give your notice that you just don't really give a damm about what your doing at your job as you only have a week left.
Hes a smart guy, and an adult. I doubt hes leaving because of any game related decision. Perhaps a business related decision, an opportunity or personal reasons. Also we only know Lighthouse, I doubt many of us know Alex and understand what decision he has made.
Let the man leave with dignity, and let the speculation cease. Give him some respect people.
