Quote:I'm far from an expert, but I have to second the Giant Mosquito's City of Ponies stuff.GiantMosquitoe's Pony Recluse is better, though this is randomly making me imagine Lord Recluse as the next season's two parter villain.
He's made quite a few mash ups of Ponies and player created characters.
Check out his DA galleries and prepare to laugh at his Silver Manetis comic strip (which is a mash up meets slash fic.....a slash up?):

I bought this, and it's fun.
I've yet to buy the German Sheppard, and don't plan to.....
...unless I throw my Flying Disc, and he catches it and brings it back.
You do that, and I will buy the dog on both my accounts. -
Everyone would log in to find that they are level 53.
-
I have two accounts and decided to drop the points of 24 for each.
On both accounts, I got:
The full costume set
Over 1,000 merits on both (1300/1075 respectively)
13/17 ATIOs
No Catalysts on either
A ton of Dual and Team Inspirations
A handful of Experienced/Windfall/XP Boosters
IMO, they were worth it. I'll make use of it all. -
The way I see it, there must be some kind of mechanic in place for the FBSA to be able to verify the identity of the person wearing the costume who has registered.
Easiest would be revelaing your secret identity to them, but I assume there are more anonymous ways to register, like providing a DNA sample for them to cross reference for verification purposes. -
My main, the Aspirant, started out as a 14 year old former sidekick, and just recently turned 17. I never made any specific mention of when he turned each age, I just made reference to him aging when it fit his storyline and character development.
Another memebr of my SG has a character who has been '...totally almost 18' since she started the character.
What's amusing about that is I knew people when I was younger who would play the 'round up game' from 16-21.... -
For the love of all that is good and wonderful in the world:

I'm not at all shocked that Paragon Studios won't be at PAX East this year.
Easter weekend is a horrible time to schedule a convention.
I'm seriously worried this might actually kill PAX East entirely. -
Best formula for the ski rus for me is:
Steampunk Jump Jet and/or Jump Jet + Sprint + Ninja or Beast Run, and pull the camera back as far as possible and keep a high angle on it, and use the mouse for steering.
I think the trouble people have is that it's one of the only real 'twitch' based part if this game.
Now that I think about it, it woud be pretty awesome if they somehow incorporated an event like this into a mission.... -
I guess it's all really a matter of whether sex/sexuality is implied by the artist, or inferred by the viewer.
I have seen artwork that I didn't get the slightest impression that sex or sexuality was implied, that upon reading a little by the artist, he TOTALLY intended for there to be sexual overtones.
My guess is that the artist intended for this elf to be 'cute,' and maybe be 'sexy.' I do NOT get the impression that it was intended to be 'provocative.'
I guess it's just a matter of what baggage is brought along.... -
Man....if I had a nickel for every time that happened.....

This is why we need a card like Game or Time Cards that let you buy Paragon Points!
-
Paragon Points cards (like the Game or Time Cards) would be a great way to do this without putting it firmly in-game.
You buy the card at your local store, PM the serial code to a friend, and there you go! -
Quote:Shouldn't really make any difference. Those cards are paid for up front by retailers. NCsoft gives them a discounted rate to increase visibility. But what happens when a third party store offers game time cards for cheap? I know that's how I've subscribed for a while: about $19 for something that would normally be $30. I guess that's alright for subbing, but what about getting points from a cheaper card? I doubt NCSoft'd want that.
So, they might only get $10 out of every $15 that the card is valued at, but the idea is that more people might give it a shot because they see it on the rack at Target, Gamestop, Best Buy etc.
With the hybrid model, it makes sense to give people as many options to give their money to NCsoft as possible. -
Back in the day, NCSoft used to allow people to convert Game and Time Cards for any of their games to NCcoin for use in Exteel or Dungeon Runners.
It would be great if they allowed those cards to be converted to Paragon Points.
The precedent is there, and these are a manageable amount of money that makes it nice and easy to add them to your account or 'gift' them to friends.
Personally, I'm looking forward to allowing my 7 year old son to start his own Free account, and it would be nice to have a way to add points to his account without having to link directly to my credit card. -
Quote:Or were intended to be doled out up front...Just to clarify here: Paragon POINTS will NOT be given out up front for long-term subscriptions, even after they've fixed the technical issue. You should always get your points on the monthly anniversary of your bill date.
Paragon REWARD TOKENS, on the other hand, are intended to be doled out up front when you make a long-term subscription, but there is a technical issue blocking that from happening at the moment. -

If attendance at the Meet and Greets for CoH is any indication, CoH has a very large female population.
If this was a widespread problem, I would assume that it would have been addressed by now.
/ignore and reporting to GMs is your best bet. -
The more I'm thinking about it, the more I realize these type of "one off"' noncombat powers could totally open up to motorcycles, scooters, sky cycles, copter packs....
-
Will we be able to use 30 and 60 day Time and Game cards and convert them to Paragon Points the way we used to be able to do for Exteel and Dungeon Runners?
-
Quote:Just to be clear, those aren't sets atball, they are single proc Enhancements that are usable from Level 1 to 20.I'll be shocked if they don't have almost exact copies of purple sets in the store. It's a total cash cow. People WILL pay for things with real money because they are lazy. You can buy +1 stuff in some F2P games stores. YOU START with +1 gear and people buy them, with points.
They give you a slight bonus early on compared to a same level character who isn't using them, but since it is only a sligh chance to activate, it's a minor edge.
It's nice, but not a game changer; just the kind of items that I forsee in a cash shop. -
I don't think we'll see true IOs on the market, but I would put money (or Paragon Points lol) on Enhancements that are similar to those that were given out with the Gamestop Preorder for GR.
Here's a cut and paste of what they entailed:
Exclusive Enhancements: The five exclusive Enhancements increase the damage and recharge value of a character power and have a small chance to trigger an additional ability. The Enhancements and their additional abilities are:
* Will of the SeersChance for minor psi damage.
* Clockwork EfficiencyChance for minor energy damage.
* Might of the EmpireChance for knockdown.
* Resistance TacticsChance for minor smash damage.
* Syndicate TechniquesChance for minor lethal additional ability triggered.
These Enhancements are only available to newly created characters. Each new character will receive one of each Enhancement. They cannot be sold, stacked, or traded. These Enhancements are equivalent to a Security Level 20 Dual Origin Enhancement.
Since these were already made available for a price, I can see similar be added for th item shop. Probably similar added for every 10 levels or so.... -
Incarnate content requires VIP membership. The only way to get the reward to unlock the items you brought up is to run a LOT of Incarnate content.
Given that one of the reasons they are doing the whole Freedom thing is to make money, I would be surprised if they allowed a one-time finite cost to pay for something that requires $15 a month until you get enough Incarnate rewards to unlock what you want. -
Quote:400 Paragon Points is valued at approximately $5 US. You get 400 Paragon Points each month per paid VIP account.Does anyone know when the "new" store is going up? I have a sinking feeling we are going get screwed on Booster Packs when they make the change. If 400 PPs = $20, then 400 should be enough to buy 2 whole booster packs, and by the looks of the prices Second Measure released, it's not even close.
Soo.. that means I'll need to drop a bunch of cash getting the boosters now before we get nickle and dime'ed to death.
Also, is it 400 points PER account? I have 3 accounts but only 1 master NCSoft account obviously.. I'd like not to get screwed another way.
So you will get 400 PPs added to each of your 3 accounts each month, NOT 1200 added to your Master Account, in the same way that Game and Time Cards are applied to each account.
