Will Freedom allow us to buy Incarnate rewards?

It's a pretty simple question, I think.

When i21 hits, will we be able to buy the rewards that currently require Incarnate Merits to unlock?

I know there's some (myself included) that strongly dislike having things like emotes and the non-incarnate chest emblems locked away behind the trials. Allowing you to spend points to unlock these things seems like an obvious solution, but I'm not sure if they'll do it.

Any thoughts/ideas on this?

For cosmetics I would have no issue being able to buy them flat out. With any reward that affects play performance I think the devs need to be very careful about allowing them to be bought. That's a slippery slope. I think all free to play games poke at those boundaries a bit; what can they sell without sacrificing the integrity of the game's reward structure?

I don't think anyone's expecting them to offer Incarnate powers for sale.

But yes, I'd like to see the costume bits and bobs (and emotes), sans Ascension Armor, obviously, available for Paragon Points purchase.

I hope they don't offer the Incarnate powers as purchasable items. Costume pieces or sets are fine as they are aesthetic extras.

But even though I want to have Incarnate Powers on most of my toons but hate the Trials to get them, having the powers purchasable with real cash or Paragon Points is a line even I do not want to see crossed.

I hope not.

I don't think that real money should be able to be used to purchase items that are already available in-game. That being said, I HATE the fact that those non-Incarnate pieces are stowed behind Incarnate Content. SO, I think they should be taken OUT of that system. Likewise, I think that the Incarnate chest symbols should be unlocked by the acquisition of their associated Badges (via iXP).

I deeply hope that the costume pieces and auras are purchasable with Paragon Points. Not everyone has the ability to run the trials, or the time, so an alternative option would be swell...

The "Ascension" and "Ascension Radiance" sets have been marketed as a way to show off your incarnate status, so I doubt those would be sold. The emotes and auras? I see no problem with selling those. Same with the early aura/cape unlock. Super Inspirations? Maybe, since they are a temporary boost. Recipes and actual Incarnate boosts? No way in heck. No permanent stat boosts from microtransactions, please.

Just to be clear, I'm talking about things like the new auras, the emotes, and the non-incarnate chest symbols.

Not powers, recipes, or the Ascension armors. (The armor's a gray area, but I'm willing to ignore it for now.) Just the cosmetic stuff that, once you unlock it, can be used on anybody.

I can see Paragon using these cosmetic items (san Ascension) to generate more revenue. And, even though I've sunk a ton of emp and astral merits into them, I wouldn't object. It's the price I pay for wanting them on launch.

I think we should always have had other options, other than locking them behind itrial rewards, to get everything but the Ascension set (incl. Radiance), therefore I have no objection if they were released as a booster or on the Paragon Market come i21.

As Ascension Armor has been earmarked solely as for Incarnate players and designed with that in mind from the start, I'm willing to give on that.

The other items, the auras, emotes, emblems, and costume change emotes should ABSOLUTELY be available through the PP store.

I've already bought most of them with merits, but would buy the whole shebang for Mrs. Moo's account the second its available.

I'd like to see the faux-Incarnate auras and emotes put in the Paragon store. Moreover, I'd like to see ALL costume items, auras and unlocks currently available via in-game action put in the Paragon Store, as well, meaning Vanguard gear, Roman gear, Rularuu weapons and more. On the reverse side, I'd like to see currently bought-only costumes available via SOME kind of in-game action. I'd still buy them for real money either way.

Incarnate content requires VIP membership. The only way to get the reward to unlock the items you brought up is to run a LOT of Incarnate content.

Given that one of the reasons they are doing the whole Freedom thing is to make money, I would be surprised if they allowed a one-time finite cost to pay for something that requires $15 a month until you get enough Incarnate rewards to unlock what you want.

They'll probably be available through other means eventually.

For NOW though? Don't expect them to let you spend cash on something they just added to the game as an in-game unlock.

Eventually is fine. I waited how many years to get free access to the Vanguard stuff? I can wait a while more, so long as it happens.

As a VIP player who doesn't want to do trials, I disagree. I have REAL money I'm willing to part with for these pieces/auras/emotes. I have no desire to grind for incarnate money.
