Ok, we know.

We should have had said something more by now, about Issue 13. But… like all great architectural endeavors, Issue 13 is taking on a life of its own and we’re not quite ready to spill forth all the information.

So, just a quick note to say thanks for your patience, even though we know you may not really be patient. Trust us, it’s coming; we’re working on it – and there’s more great stuff coming (like you haven’t heard that before, but really, we mean it!)

Thanks!

i think posi could at least update the bases part of iss 13 and address it..after all this time not to have a major uphaul of bases is more then a let down considering "day jobs" is in there and clearly that wasnt on the "list of things people wanted for years"

Please guys, hurry up and at least put something on test.

It's getting to the point where people (like me) are not logging on. After a period of time of not logging on, it becomes hard to justify paying for a game that you no longer play. It's one thing if a new issue is right around the corner and quite another if it's several months away.

I appreciate that you all are working hard to provide great content. But please, hurry.

I'm still wondering when Items of Power are going to become available again if ever?

I mean it was heavily promoted with CoV as a part of that game right?

RIGHT?

Dear Positron,

Good afternoon. Thank you for responding to our questions for more information about Issue 13.

And on a side note. Please fix the store so that I can purchase Booster Packs for other players as gifts. I'd like to purchase 10 or so of these for my friends that also play. Plus I'd like to give you my money to help with the development of my favorite game. However, since I only have 1 account and I can't very well purchase 10 Cyborg Packs for 1 account then I guess that I'll have to keep the money that I would have liked to have given to your company.

P.S. Rocket Pack costume items please.

Thank You.

Dear Peregrine Falcon,

Thank you for your feedback. We would LOVE to come up with a way for players to "gift" our Super Boosters to other players. The real problem with this lies in credit card fraud. It may seem like a simple problem, but it's really very complex. Once we have a workable solution that Billing and Customer Service can sign off on, we will allow players to gift Microtransactions post haste.

Yes, yes, Rocket Packs are on Sexy Jay's todo list, I just am not exactly clear on when they will be done.

Hope this clears things up for you a little bit.

[/ QUOTE ]

Dear Positron,

Salutations. I have some experience in handling web-based credit card processing for digital goods. Allow me to suggest:

* Gifts can only be purchased with a card which has a history of being used for subscriptions. (ie, it is attached currently to a subscription, has been for 60 or 90 days, and has had no problems).
* The purchaser is required to re-enter the card number, or at least the CVV2 code from the back of the card. (Which you cannot store due to PCI/CISP requirements anyhow)

My experience is that a card number attached to an account that has been "in use" paying for a subscription for upwards of 90 days is "safe". Almost all the fraud encountered in my experience is from stolen cards that the thief often has no idea which one even works. (They'll often return to your site repeatedly to try different cards, looking for one not yet disabled)

90 days is sufficient for them to see their bill, protest a charge, and you to receive a chargeback notice, so if it is still there after 90 days, odds are good it belongs to that person.

You could use geolocation on the connecting IP address as a fraud screen. This is not 100% reliable, but when someone is using a card with a cardholder address in Iowa, and the IP address belongs to Vietnam, that's a good sign something is wrong.

I'm available for a limited amount of consulting. Although I'm expensive. I will add that one site I did the full credit card processing design for (everything from architecture, storage, PCI/CISP compliance, fraud screening, etc) has incredibly low fraud rates - as in under 0.1%, and that's for instantly-delivered digital goods. (Obviously very tricky, since if you catch them 2 hours after the charge, they already have their ill-gotten gains)

There are a few of us that just want to PLAY the game and not neccessarily make missions. With all the fanfare we keep hearing about the Mission Creator, I do hope there is something in there for us then just Shields, PD and a few more Cimerora missions.

[/ QUOTE ]

I believe there will be more, as they have been saying, but that is my fear as well that this will be similar to the....gulp...Arena and have a patch with not a whole lot else to it other then something a few people use and the rest only occasionaly pick up. For me Issue 4 was the worst thing that ever happened to this game, never been a pvp fan and its influence on pve in this game, admitted or denied, is still annoying.

Also How about i13 gets rid of Travel Power suppresion?

Thanks for letting us know you haven't all collapsed yet

Booster pack timing seems awfully convenient. The power in the 'borg pack is just so we can express our impatience graphically, right? No need to blow up on the forums any more! Ranting excessively in Broadcast also triggers it, yeh? Can I choose Daffy Duck as my patron?

Sounds like some major retooling is going on. Intensely curious. Hope y'all have one or two things nailed down soon we can look at, and good luck. You guys have pulled off a lot in the face of an implosion that would have wiped out many companies.

PS, sorry, but obligatory Real Genius quote:

"It's coming?! It's not even breathing hard!"

Ahem.

Yes, there will be. It'll be called "playing the missions other players have created".

I rarely post. I don't want to be negative here, but this announcement just touched a nerve. Specifically, this part:

Trust us, it's coming; we're working on it.

[/ QUOTE ]
My initial reaction was: Really? Trust you that it's coming? So will it be coming "very very soon" like the City Vault or will it be coming regular soon like the Cathedral of Pain? (We only have to wait until I8, guys!)

On a lighter note, I like how the things you announce are going to happen are always the ones that run late, but the ones you don't announce (and here I'm thinking VEATs) end up early

Thank you for the update. Fortunately the Halloween event is right around the corner for me. It looks like you and your team knocked this year's version of that event one out of the park!

However, it really is becoming easier to find other things to do as the last Issue was released 4 months ago...

I just want to say that I'm thankful to the devs for putting out these FREE issues. Unlike some MMO's that have paid expansions it's nice to know that I don't -have- to shell out another cost of a full box on top of the $15.00 a month for continued gaming. If things aren't always 'on schedule' I'm fine with it because.. well.. it's 'free'.

Keep up the good work and until the server hamsters stop running in their wheels, Make Mine City of.

Posi, in your original address you refer to I13 info as your "primary" feature list. Does that mean any further info will only provide the details on what has been announced already and any new features listed will only be minor in comparison? Or does it mean you only have a couple more features to announce but they are just as big?

Thanks for the update and letting us know i13 is coming. The mission creator sounds like PITA for you. Maybe it should have been its own release altogether since a lot of my friends that play and myself most likely won't even use it. Maybe more smaller issues instead of 1 big issue would be the solution. I know its been recommended tons of times, maybe that's just because its a great idea.

Issue 13 basically is just Architect.

And Positron, thanks for at least letting us know your office didn't collapse. You guys are obviously expecting to blow us away with mission architecht, so I am willing to wait another month or so for closed beta.

But can we please get some info on the other features? I want to know if Pain Domination is different from Empathy at all.

Does anyone sense another i6/i7 mega-gap-due-to-troublesome-tech in the offing? At this point, I don't expect i13 until February. Fortunately, there's plenty of stuff to do between now and then.

It does make me worry a bit more about the effect on CoX of the mass desertions that are likely to result as subscribers flock to the various new superhero MMO offerings next year in search of that mythical "new shiny."

Additionally, as one of the posters above mentioned, I find it amusing that the major features that get announced in advance (City Vault, base raiding, etc.) suffer delays, while excellent, unannounced features show up all the time. No wonder the devs don't like to announce things.

As far as i13 is concerned, take all the time you need. Quality over quantity if you ask me. Sure people clamor for wanting it 'nao' but honestly most of those folks IMHO will be the first to complain about glitches with a premature release.

Yes, the first few days of Issue 12 can attest to this statement.
