though it wasn't clear which side you were for or against in that case.

Then i succeeded
Thanks for the review! I'll see about downtuning the allies somewhat, having them clear rooms was definitely not my intent. -
Hahaha, solid statistical analysis instead of pure whim and rating cartels?
Clearly you are mad.
Also, such stats being available might help alert the devs, without having to read a thousand reports and petitions, to obvious farm arcs. If and only if they follow up those flags with intelligent human investigation of this smaller set, instead of instaban whatever The Computer doesn't like.
However, some degree of player opinion is needed, or it's pointless. It just has to be done in a way so the smallest set of outliers are diminished in importance (not discarded, diminished :P). It's about making things that people like to play, after all. -
I have tried both SHIFT and LSHIFT variations with no change in behaviour, as mentioned above in the thread.
Also, my mm has this bind, and it works perfectly - shift by itself does nothing, holding shift and tapping lclick instaports. No target appears before, during or after.
edit: also... on my new toon with teleport, i made the bind. It worked as i expected, no target circle ever. I log off for the night. I log in the next day. Hello teleport circles.

The first fight can be fixed by just making the guy visible. As for the second, two EBs at the same time is too much for almost any solo player. Separate them, or make the Oyabun just a boss. Also, ambushes with debuffs are painful during an EB fight.
[/ QUOTE ]
OK. I think i will:
- first EB in mish 4: He's not supposed to be hard to kill at that point, after all. I'll change his secondary to remove Hide.
- Final mish: bit of a problem here, since making either of them a Boss means they will show up in large spawns. They will have to stay EBs, but i'll nerf their powersets to Normal across the board, and
- reduce the ambushes to easy. The debuffers will probably also get a power nerf. Also, removed one of the ambushes completely.
I do want a crimelord to be summoning his gang to help, and i don't want it to be empty on large teams, but i think that will still be where i want it.
People should know to switch targets when they need to anyway. I'm performing a public service!
I do want the last mish to be a little crazy, but not discouraging. I realize it may not be doable by every AT at every level, but i'm ok with that if the story comes off well and the fights are good. Maybe, optimist that i am, one day, AE teams will be formed to go thru actual non-farming arcs. I think the rewards for the arc are good for its diff. -
OK, clearly i'm gonna have to write this as i go or i'll forget. Also you made me miss dinner, you jerk, since i was going to make it, but made the mistake instead of starting your arc, and now i can't stop...
#83920: Two Chicks at Once
== SPOILER ALERT ==
== AVERT THINE EYES ==
== SO NOT KIDDING ==
The intro text is good, sets the tone right off. Meheh. After mish one, i was looking forward to how LR would react to the clue...
Entry text to mish two made me gigglesnort. After whacking a few Crey tanks, since that's all the map had for my level and diff solo, i Hid and zoomed around looking for the objectives. +1 Grey Goo reference. Other clues are win as well.
Mish 3: Fugeddaboudit.
Mish 4: oops, encountered Mantis before Mistral. Ah well, i like a challenge...
Good fight in a burning, messy base, filled with demons and Mantis jumping all over me. I may need a shower. A very cold one.
Mish 5: Was wondering what could be next. The ringtone is awesome. Entered mish: GET OUT OF MY HEAD! Excellent use of animations to reverse the polarity of the neu- uh, i mean the roles associated with an ally and the surrounding group. Bravo. Now that i have BOTH of them, i can only imagine that the final EB will be Galactus.
Get last crate, get new objective: ah, close enough. Popped Tier9 on me TWICE and took out Mistral somewhere along the line, but we got her. Me and Mantis walked out of that one alive. Now to find a locksmith...
Overall, a fun mish, well-paced. The glowies in the last one go by fast. Someone soloing who's smarter than me and stealths to the ally BEFORE the EB in the 4th mish will have no trouble at all if they manage their aggro a little. You, sir, win a full
ROFLCOPTER
complete with ejection seats. -

Er... heh, sorry, i have no idea what this is, except the real book (of a similar name). Card game?
Glad you liked the Yakuza! What was most annoying about the end fights that could be tuned, allowing solo play but still providing a challenge? Change their secondaries?
I didn't even *think* of people not being able to see them, the toons i tried it on have high perception.... I can dump /nin but don't want to replace it with something equally annoying, so I'm open to ideas.
Going to go check out yours after fooood. Be back in a bit!
Oh yeah, the flavor text on the Yakuza explain the names (in a brief sentence or two). Taken from a couple sources on "authentic" Yakuza terms. In quotes, because I'm not likely to be able to ask them and verify...
Oyabun and Kobun are a relationship, not "the boss and his right hand," but that's the popular understanding of the words, so hey. But f'r example, the green hair kids; those guys represent the motorcycle street punks, Bosuzoko, "speed tribes;" low-rank street gangs who might get recruited. I really liked that name and had to include them -
I still wanna know how
/bind LSHIFT+LCLICK
causes something to happen when pressing
LSHIFT
by itself. That seems like there's a bad assumption in there somewhere. In this instance, no, it's no big deal, but it might cause some really Bad Things if it isn't tracked down. -
"The toon is Brainwave ... Keep in mind, I never invited him, he just magically appeared..."
Did the toon name that appeared as this poor guy's doubting his sanity make anyone else gigglesnort? -
Two broken things does not a fixed thing make xD.
I suppose i should have added a disclaimer like "if you're uninterested in the topic, or don't want to answer my questions, don't bother." Silly me. Boost that post count! Never mind the fact that i have neither impale nor thunderstrike, as i clearly stated my powersets.
Lemme try a different tactic: Any stalkers out here having fun with a build that does something besides AS and run away? Preferably as nin/nin? -

Empathy/Carpentry

hrm. how to get empathy and war mace's large hammer on the same toon...
"holds" are basically "interrupts" now, yah? -
Do Stalkers have a role in PvP nowadays? If so, what is it?
I've given up on Hide and Placate. As a ninja toon, i can't use my primary reason for being's Hide and remain unseen: i have to take An Idiot's Guide to Being Sneekeh, aka pool stealth, to have a chance. Lame. So forget that.
Placate's been broken 5 years now, so forget that too. My earlier workarounds i've posted in the past are no longer effective, except in rare cases. So forget that too.
What we have left is a nerfed Scrapper. So, ok, i'll try anything once....
For added laughs, I'm nin/nin.
Build ideas, i14? -
..... is dark and doesn't animate like the others. However, it seems to work. The porter it's attached to works. I dun get it.
Yes, i deleted and replaced it. I have power and control to spare. Minor issue, but i hate having one beacon-monitor that looks "broken" compared to all the others xD -
LISAR, you're psychic. I was just messing this and coming back to report, having has the same thought.
Nothing! SHIFT by itself isn't bound to anything, and neither is LSHIFT! But hitting SHIFT by itself activates teleport, and a click fires it! That makes no sense, and seems like a minor flaw in the bind system. The LSHIFT+LCLICK bind is being used as the LSHIFT bind as well.
If i hold lshift and click, i teleport instantly, AND have the targeting circles at the other end of the port. That is, the expected action occurs, but the Teleport target is still active - click again, teleport again. shift-click again, teleport again and still have target up at the other end. Just tapping SHIFT and nothing else brings up the circles, as if you'd clicked the power in the tray.
Ah well. If anyone knows what's up, i'd love to know, but i don't think i can get any further without knowing how the binds are interpreted. -
[ QUOTE ]
I just noticed this behavior recently, but in the opposite manner. I have two older toons with the left shift/mouse teleport bind and on those the targeting circles appear when I hit the Shift key. I just created a new toon, used the same bind, and no targeting circle appears at all, just the normal mouse pointer.
[/ QUOTE ]
OK, now i'm completely mystified -
8538, Honor's Shadow. I, for one, welcome our new caustic overlords.
I realize you may have quite a backlog; that's fine. Just looking for an honest critique. Eventually -
I tested the mish with my 50 stalker and 40 bots mm. Upon reflection, this may have not provided me with a balanced view of things...
I have nerfed the minions as well as making the final boss an EB, not an AV. He should scale down to a Boss for the soloers on low diff levels, yes? I left their powersets the same. I *do* want things to be a bit hectic, but doable with proper target prioritizing.
The Allies are now both Bosses, not Lts. That should keep them with you longer, which i want, 'coz i like them. A careful soloer might even be able to schlep them to the end fight. And yeah, QA guy was meant more for a player-buffer then serious offense; that's what the player's there for, after all.
I think these things in combination should make it more fun for anyone, and if soloers want a challenge, Diff 5 should provide that for them. Also, i left out the mention of the AV (now EB) in the mish desc. Oops. Fixed that too.
Thanks for all the help, folks!
UPDATE: Soloed this on a 15 thugs/paindom MM. Hit the floor once, didn't see the Dup Error group i'd pulled behind me. The QA guy ally still hits kinda hard with the snipe, as a boss, but it doesn't fire often, so i'm ok with that. He spends most of his time buffing. The heat stuff was useful when the PeeVeePee ambush happened xD.
Overall, barring any glaring mistakes i might've missed, i think i'm done tuning it. -
twelfth: THANK YOU. I haven't gotten any feedback from anyone on the difficulty of the mish, and wasn't sure i should trust my own solo-toon testing...
Do you think nerfing those Corrupted File and Tpyo minions, as well as boosting the Allies to Boss level, would be enough to fix things?
(rad and dark seemed like the obvious choices for corruption, and Tpyo tries to claw your eyes out. However, as much as that amused me, if it's unworkable i'll change the powersets)
-
No, i didn't try that. It doesn't make sense to me, but i'll try it
At some point the game's decided to give me the targeting circles back. I wonder...
It's possible that on the original toon, i didn't have teleport on my powers tray, but on more recent toons forgot to take it out before i made the bind. I seem to remember the person i got it from warning me to make sure the Teleport travel power was NOT in my tray when i make the bind.
Thanks for the suggestion. -

EDIT: DISREGARD THAT, I EAT ROCKS. I was in SG mode and hadn't set my colors.
[/ QUOTE ]
i forget, is that bash or omgrawr xD
Jay: i didn't see it in the thread yet, but the Baron coat and High Collar's cape clip pretty badly. The Baron-wearer's arms and shoulders poke thru the cape while running, or in a stiff breeze. For a lot of attack animations (like Dual Wield), the back of the toon tears completely thru the entire width of the cape.
Other than that, i love the magic pack stuff. I haven't used any of it on a magic toon yet! The Vampire Hunter D hat went to my swordsman, and the baron coat/collar went to my Victorian scientist (goes well with top hat and monocle, dontchewknow). -
Hey folks,
A long time ago, someone showed me the
/bind LSHIFT+LBUTTON "powexecname Teleport"
that makes you teleport wherever the mouse pointer is, by shift-clicking. The targeting circle never appears. On the first toon i used this on, it still Works As Intended.
Whenever i use it on a new toon, tho, entering that bind command as above... the teleport works, however i ALSO get the targeting circle. In fact, the circle appears as soon as i hold down Shift!
I'm not sure what changed. It doesn't really break functionality, as i teleport to wherever the point was: and for long travel, i can just click again to get rid of the circle (and teleport to it). If the circle is still there when i'm done travelling, Esc gets rid of it.
However, it's odd. I can't figure out what changed between Old Toon it still works on, and New Toons where the circle appears. Any ideas? -
Nice, thanks! What'd you run it with the first time?
-
Hey there, glad you could make it! You don't mind putting in some overtime this weekend, do you? Good! 'Coz the latest patch we rolled out the other day doesn't seem to be Working As Intended!
There are some Trolls and Fanbois who refuse to log off - go boot them out of the servers, will you? And I mean boot; we're going to have to digitize you directly into the machines to really fix things! You don't mind that, do you? Good!
We, ah, already tried this with one of our other QA Techs, and haven't heard from him since... see if you can find the guy before HR starts asking uncomfortable questions, mmmkay? Find the Combat Log while you're at it, and clear out some of the Bugs (don't have to get them all, of course!) so you can stop the Rollback.
If you see anything else strange while you're in there, I wouldn't worry about it really. Now clock in and get to it!
Arc # 50318 - One mission, any level, soloable on several of my toons but a group makes it Extra Fun, feedback on customs' difficulty greatly appreciated. -
Patch Day: 50318
1 mission
It's Patch Day, and the servers are not Working As Intended! Not a defeat-all, but try to squash at least a *few* Bugs on the way to rescuing the hapless QA Troubleshooter, finding the Combat Log, and most of all stopping the Rollback!
Note: anything you might happen to see outside those parameters isn't required for mish complete ,-).
I'll be doing Digital Transition as well as your arcs, Bubba, it sounds interesting. -
Arc Name: Honor's Shadow
Arc ID: 8538
Author: @Kageshi
Number of Missions: 4
Level Range: 37+ Recommended, Villainous
Description:
Warning to Mary Sue phobics: a toon of mine appears in this arc. However, it's an origin story, not a "rawr! i beat you!" In fact, you will inevitably send me to jail - we all started in the Zig, right? xD
Since i started Kageshi and saw the Tsoo, i wondered what happened to all the other Asian gangs. Looking up the lore a bit, it seems they absorbed them all into a large amalgam of Triad, Tong, etc... but i couldn't really picture all these different cultures just going with the flow. Besides, whats some good 60s villain action without Yakuza?
A simple deal with a minor Tsoo leader to grab a magical trinket leads you to... well, if i did it right, i won't have to explain too much ahead of time, yah? I enjoyed writing and testing it; i hope you enjoy reading and playing it.
What i'd also really like is feedback from varieties of teams. I can solo it at diff 1, but how many other ATs can? Do large teams cause the mayhem to ramp up too much? What, ye gods, happens with a full team at Diff 5? I'd really love to know...
If you tried this shortly after I published it, I tuned things to be a bit more sane.
All raters are welcome, as long as it's an honest rating. Please, if you're thinking of giving me a 5 just so i give you a 5, save us both some time and don't bother.
Thanks,
Kag -

I have a question in regards to SG Bases. Are supergroups going to become non-alignment or will my hero lose his base access when he becomes evil?
[/ QUOTE ]
DOH! I didn't even think of this til you said that: WTH happens to SGs when the Overlord switches? Is he booted out and the highest officer Overlorded? Or does the SG become a VG? If you're an SG founder / overlord with a base, does switching mean you lose everything? Or do you just boot your members out of it and end up on the other side with an empty VG..? Also, losing the 15-member pressie bonuses could leave many small-mid SGs in the negative...
For any other member, i would assume you simply lose your SG/VG membership.
