I wouldn't roll /stone unless you had a guarenteed kin following you while farming. For farming solo I'd recommend a elec/sd or ss/elec or some combination of those. I'm sure there are some other great builds but those are the only 2 I have experience with farming. /stone is best described as "slow and steady" and by far the greatest for surviving but IMO the drawbacks of granite are not worth it seeing as how you can farm a lot faster with a different build. Having said that if you are set on wanting a /stone farmer a kin is a must unless you want to go for a lot of +rech bonus and that requires a good amount of cash. To answer some of your questions, yes you will need hasten and teleport (a good shift+click bind helps teleport become easily usable). Once you get 38 you won't really need other powers because granite will be enough in combination with EE. Mudpots is obviously a must have because of the more aoe dmg and -slow component.
Hope this helped. Good luck with your brute. -
I know this is about SR being a passed fad, but have you tried finding an Energy Aura thread? I think EA is left far back in the dust compared to SR.
-
I can't speak for brutes OP, but my shield/ss tank has no end problems. If you can, mix and match some cheap IOs in your attacks to reduce end (or give +recov) and put a SO end reduc in each toggle. I can't say its the most efficient method, but for leveling it worked fine for me.

From what I've seen SS/SR is a solid choice. If you mix and match different sets with +def bonus you can get to the defense cap and really hurt stuff. If the MM is bub or the cor has some reliable heals then you should be gravy. Sorry I can't post a build for you (mids not working :/ ). I suggest asking a SS/SR that you find in-game for tips if they are willing to help.

Apparently DirectX 11 was the culprit. I downloaded DirectX 9 and 10, and ran the game under vista sp2 compatibility and it ran fine. Thanks for the continued help all! See you in-game!!

Why not simply partition your drive and load on another OS, one thats not in beta? I know that I wouldnt want to be dependant on a version of windows that isnt even at retail stage.

I only have 200 gigs to work with atm and don't want the hassle of dual booting just because COH won't work.
Also, Windows 7 is already regarded as more stable, and a generally better experience in all categories (gaming especially) in comparison to Vista. This version I am running (build7100) is also said to be the first release candidate for windows 7, so not much is going to change between now and launch.
I have tried safe mode also and I get the same results. I will try downloading DX9 and DX10 to see if that will make any difference. -
Thanks for the replies. I checked up on it and you are right about my e7400 not supporting hardware virtualization. I suppose I will go back to AoC until this is fixed or until a work-around is discovered. Happy hunting all! I hope I'm not gone too long. :3

This is my COH helper info incase it helps. -
I've just upgraded to a e7400 core 2 duo, 4gb ddr2 and 9800gt.
I reinstalled COH and when I get to the login screen it seems to have very high gamma in the picture and trying to log into a character just freezes the game as soon as it starts loading the zone.
I'm running x64 windows 7 atm and I'm guessing that's the problem. I was wondering if there are any work-arounds as I don't plan on switching OSs right now.
Crysis, LOTR:Conquest, CS:S, and COD 4 all work beautifully so it can't be a hardware problem. I am sure all of my drivers are updated also. Any help is greatly appreciated! (I don't wanna quit COH) >.<' -

Thanks for the update and letting us know i13 is coming. The mission creator sounds like PITA for you. Maybe it should have been its own release altogether since a lot of my friends that play and myself most likely won't even use it. Maybe more smaller issues instead of 1 big issue would be the solution. I know its been recommended tons of times, maybe that's just because its a great idea.
-
With only 15 people actually working on COX now, I'd say they are doing an awesome job. Keep it up.

great idea, would be a long while before we ever saw it in-game tho (ill be here waiting) =P
