This is my COH helper info incase it helps.
If you have downloaded the Windows 7 RC then it has the XP Pro virtual system that come with it. Run your CoX under that.
The E7xxx series can't run that feature. Doesn't have Intel's VT enabled.

<shrug> It's Windows 7. nVidia is fooling around with the drivers quite a bit trying to get them working right.
Thanks for the replies. I checked up on it and you are right about my e7400 not supporting hardware virtualization. I suppose I will go back to AoC until this is fixed or until a work-around is discovered. Happy hunting all! I hope I'm not gone too long. :3
Why not simply partition your drive and load on another OS, one thats not in beta? I know that I wouldnt want to be dependant on a version of windows that isnt even at retail stage.
Have you tried starting it in Safe Mode?
In case that it is a driver issue, there might be some particular graphic setting that it don't like.

I only have 200 gigs to work with atm and don't want the hassle of dual booting just because COH won't work.
Also, Windows 7 is already regarded as more stable, and a generally better experience in all categories (gaming especially) in comparison to Vista. This version I am running (build7100) is also said to be the first release candidate for windows 7, so not much is going to change between now and launch.
I have tried safe mode also and I get the same results. I will try downloading DX9 and DX10 to see if that will make any difference.
Apparently DirectX 11 was the culprit. I downloaded DirectX 9 and 10, and ran the game under vista sp2 compatibility and it ran fine. Thanks for the continued help all! See you in-game!!
Really? That's very interesting. I would have thought that 11 had all the latest for 9 and... HEY! You have Vista SP2 already? Oh man!! I want my service pack!
I've just upgraded to a e7400 core 2 duo, 4gb ddr2 and 9800gt.
I reinstalled COH and when I get to the login screen it seems to have very high gamma in the picture and trying to log into a character just freezes the game as soon as it starts loading the zone.
I'm running x64 windows 7 atm and I'm guessing that's the problem. I was wondering if there are any work-arounds as I don't plan on switching OSs right now.
Crysis, LOTR:Conquest, CS:S, and COD 4 all work beautifully so it can't be a hardware problem. I am sure all of my drivers are updated also. Any help is greatly appreciated! (I don't wanna quit COH) >.<'
