The Costume Set selection is a welcome addition.

Thanks, Devs!

Wooooo....City of Spreadsheets

I'm only being half-sarcastic, b/c there really is a disturbing number of people that this appeals to.
...And also b/c alt-tabbing out to C.o.data is a real PitA for a game that uses as many resources as this one, and I already play it in windowed mode! (hey maybe they can do something about that next? ...a little RAM optimization never hurt anyone except for the guys who make their money selling RAM)

Bravo on the Costume Set addition!! That is a wonderful quality of life change because I always seem to struggle to find all the pieces of various costumes, especially with all the vet rewards that were added.

Is it possible that the new "Costume Set" category could take away from the individuality or creativity of the costume creator? Yes it may be easy sometimes when you don't need to look through every list of costume pieces, but wont everyone eventually just ignore the custom costume option and just pick the pre-made costumes?

I still think its a great QoL feature though

Been to Mercy lately? 50% of them are just flat tights with random hair, eye, and costume colors. At least this gives them incentive to not look quite as hideous and unoriginal :P

This is true..

What I'm curious about is groups such as the "Robot" one. The Robot group only has gloves and boots in the set. Are the devs porting in different body groups from the Mastermind robots set to player toons? Very-very doubtful, but it would be welcomed. None of the robot toons I've seen look very much like robots...

I surmise, (Don't get any of that on you by the way, it is dangerous.) That we shall see many fine additions to the world of super-heroic attire. It has been a while since Jay has laid down a whopping batch of sexy upon the masses, and I am going to assume that he has been getting a touch of help lately.

Two questions. One of the listed features was real numbers before picking powers, so I'm guessing we can see those numbers while training. However, can we look at real numbers for powers not available? If I'm considering a new set, I not only want to know what the first or second tier attacks do, I want to see what the ninth tier does while I'm still in the character creation. If I can't, well, still a vast improvement over what we have, consider it a feature request.

Secondly, I presume we can pick a costume set (like all jester) and then start making changes (like replacing the chest with robotic arms)?

Looks very nice.

One minor suggestion that I've had for a while? Can we have a few animation cycles we can put the characters in? Jumping, say, and maybe jumping jacks? Just so we can check for gapping and hair clipping.

[/ QUOTE ]

Definitely agree with this.

What I'd -really- like is, after choosing a costume, demonstrations available of your chosen powerset animations. Some of the drawn weapon animations clip through hair/headgear really badly, but you'd only see when it actually does the animation.... and high heeled shoes clip really badly through smart trousers, but you can only see with the flight animation....

Any word on the bug that happened from the last reorganizing of the Character Creator?

Last time around, you wind up with generic'd version of costume pieces that got rearranged (i.e. metallic chest to simply tights chest). The only way to work around it was to change the costume and then change it again to bring it to the way it was supposed to look.

I don't understand this 'alt-tab' you speak of.. at the Valley house we use ctrl-f12 to task-switch to Firefox on Ubuntu, and at Home, I just mouse over past the edge of the CoH window.

resource wise, CoH is lightweight. Excuse me while I order another 4gb of ram - I'm going to try and play Crysis again.

Looks like a worthwhile addition... I'm assuming this is also ported to the Respec screen?

Based on what I am seeing in the screenshots looks like this will be possible. The example shows numbers for Vengeful Slice which appears to be unavailable from the power choice selection.

p.s. First edit before a red name!

Very nice, I can't wait to see what some of the Costume Sets look like. Maybe some free costumes for i12, hmm?

[/ QUOTE ]

Just to clarify for everyone, to my knowledge there are no new costume items added. The sets from the pull down are just the collection of all the items in that list. For example, if you want to have all the "steampunk" items (say to start and tweak your character from there) it will select all of those for you. But it doesn't mean that there are items for every slot in that set; just that it puts what available costume items there are on your character.

This is all manner of awesomesauce.

I definitely DO hope though that this leads to at least a "soon" looking over of the issues with supergroup mode, visibility of certain costume pieces while in the sg menu, off-colored items (those which have color 1 and 2 mixed as opposed to the others in that piece's selection) and the like. But this is very nice indeed!

And yes, it does give hope to those dramatically underachieving folks who can't organize a unique costume to save their lives now they won't have to worry. Unless there's some trickery involved and you press the button and it looks really, really funny

SG mode issues might be a good "getting up to speed" project for new trainees. One can hope.

That is fine, I am sure Jay is saving up the good stuff for the big game. I know all too well what it takes to keep clipping and the like from becoming an issue, fixing it could mean simply tightening up your geometry to a complete rebuild. Still a major improvement. Kudos!

With the Power Information...will there be a way to view this info outside of character creation or levelling up? Possibly more detailed information on your Enhancement Screen or with the hover over on your Powers tab?

What's in the "Greek" costume set? I thought some of that stuff could only be unlocked via the Valentine's Day event or has that now changed?

[/ QUOTE ]

New set.

[/ QUOTE ]That's Roman...

Which is not really like Greek.

It's like comparing Apples and Oranges.

They're both fundamentally the same but is completely different.

[/ QUOTE ]

Brainfart. I thought it said Greek in there too.

You may shoot me now.

Unless there is a new Greek set too, in which case, not a brainfart.

[/ QUOTE ]

I believe the Greek stuff is the laurel, shoes, toga, etc. Of course, if you don't have all those items, then they won't all show up for you. If you don't have any (like say stuff from the optional wedding pack) then the wedding options won't show up in the list to choose from.

Darn, and here I was hoping that they finally put the puffy pirate shirt back in for the Pirate set. Curses!!!

But seriously, awesome. I look forward to both the numbers and the costume streamlining, although now it's probably going to take me twice as long to make each character even with the streamlining since I can never go with a full set and now I have numbers to distract me before I even get to that point... I have a feeling I'm going to be spending more time creating characters than playing them when i12 goes live.

Very cool! I know that when the Jester set came out my friend was trying to make a Jester outfit and it was hard to find all the 'pieces' of the set....so having the 'set' icon/button is a great addition

Sooo...how about more character slots per server?

Conceivably but it should also help rid us of those who have a complete lack of creativity (I'm talking about all you heroic "demonic wannabe's" types out there, yeh you know who you are!)

Yes, as the powers stuff is functioning in our Alpha builds, you can mouse over any of the powers in the primary and secondary and see the numbers of those powers.
