Yeah - I had planned to stampede the server as soon as it opened but family time interceded so tomorrow it is!

(or tonight when I get back home if someone hasn't initiated server meltdown sequences)

    Hours on Patrol?

I am scared to look... (but I'll take a peek tonight). I'm pretty certain my earth/storm has been outplayed by my initial character by MANY hours.

Oh they definitely are - I just never really cared to play one myself. dual pistols is slanting my view just a 'bit'

Hmm. Do you think players would rate an arc low if it had a mission with an ally NPC in it? A couple of the arcs I want to do are going to have a mission with allies (which is important to the story), but now I'm worried that some players won't like that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well I HOPE that fun/challenge is the major factor. If we ahve to min/max MA content in order to make players happy because they receive the "best" rewards what is the point? We are back to scripting the same thing over and over and over again.

I completely agree that there should be a Comments section, even for good MAs. Something as simple as 'Great plot but if you hate CoT stay out of this one!' would be fine for me. Now I know that I should not bring certain characters/ATs/Powersets in solo but the plot is good so it's probably worth teaming it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

yes please. I know for example that I am unlikely to come up with story-arc material. THings that I create will hopefully be full of fun and challenging encounters with a mixture of humor. I should be able to label it as such (or at least state my intent) as the mission creator so the unwary doesnt walk into it expecting more out of 'my' arc/map than I intended. They probably wont be around that long anyway. Just a way to provide an evenings entertainment for myself and friends.

farming is going to be the end of this game. Looks like the devs are going to help make this city of farmers even more with this issue.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Huh? If a player opts to exclusively play MA content, that's not farming. That's just selecting from available content. No harm, no foul. And it's certainly preferable to endlessly grinding out BORING newspaper/scanner missions, which many teams do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And lets be honest too - Call it what you want but any time you play a mission in this or any game you are farming. The actual intent of that 'farm' may vary based on what your objective is but it's farming nonetheless (at least with PuGs).

What MA does is relieve the general community from the continuous stream of farming only teams sitting on PI trying to gather in people to farm.

Those folks will still be there but now people can make their own "farm" maps. Even better though there is NO need to keep running the same map over, and over, and over, and ... you get the idea. To me that is the biggest problem with farming in the game. Boredom from perpetually facing the same mobs on the same map without relief.

The real farmers will probably keep doing what they have always been doing but everyone else is now free to come up with t heir own encounters (and challenge themselves as much as they want to - you want a map full of AVs? GREAT go for it!!!)

The introduction of an economy to the game resulted in the farming. Dont blame the farmers but do find creative and fun ways to 'earn' that income so you can afford the nice things you really want.

Ouranbega tileset, complete with knicknacks and unfinished cave walls.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's exactly what I want. I would LOVE to have one of those huge Ourenbega maps for my base, and could you imagine a base raid in one?
  11. A portal that lets us transfer directly between coalition bases and for a BHAG... a small base "zone" like firebase zulu, complete with the jet transports between rocks and falling off taking you to the entrance.

Actually I would like to be able to pick any map in game as the template for my base.

Sister Psyche 24.99 to 'fix' your mother in law's head

    [/ QUOTE ] I would pay $1,000 for this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah but then how much more would you pay if your spouse found out? $24.99 is a much safer fee. When the credit card bill comes in it should be much easier for you to come up with a 'viable' excuse

QR: DEAR GOD, LOOK AT THIS THREAD. MY TIN FOIL HAT WAS NOT READY! THE HYPERBOLE RAYS ARE FRYING MY BRAIN.

Seriously, devs, WHATS NEXT?!?! $19.99 and BaBs comes to your house to insult your drapes?!?!

    *breathes*

Sorry, I just wanted to contribute on par with most everyone else. Posi, thanks for more options.

    [/ QUOTE ]

LOL - I would SO pay $19.99 for that!!

I bet teh BaBmobile would look awesome parked by the curb.
  15. I think the part that I am most disappointed in is the $9.99 price for one respec. I have without a qualm used the character move option. Rename I've used a couple of times, also without really blinking at the price because I know that I'll do that exactly once on that character. Purchasable slots I cheered for but for some reason spending $10 for a single respec I balk at. If it were more like purchasing slots where I could get a set I could be distribute at will I would be MUCH happier with it.

Overall I really doubt that I'll have a use for this service. Except for the first couple of characters I ever made I have never exhausted my existing in-game respec options. Still I would like this better if it came as a package and cost me about $5 / respec - or perhaps it could be served with pie and a pony!!
  16. While there have been many times that I have wished that there were a purchasable method to respec my characters that would have been with IN GAME money, not real dollars. Nope, no thank you - I wont be buying any of these...

*note - yes I am aware that I could buy a respec recipe from the market. Since the respec recipe has become available I have seen exactly two of these drop.
  17. Man, this is so awesome. Finally the hunt for the missing glowie is a product of the past. *THRUM* *THRUM* *THRUM*

I wonder how they will handle line of sight issues though. Will you be able to *hear* the glowie if it is occluded by something? I would hate to think that you would not be able to find a glowie that had spawned inside a wall because there was no way to see the text for it.

Oh, and is there going to be a scale to the text so louder sounds appear bigger on your screen?
  18. *petitions to have freedom renamed Freemdom

Two questions. One of the listed features was real numbers before picking powers, so I'm guessing we can see those numbers while training. However, can we look at real numbers for powers not available? If I'm considering a new set, I not only want to know what the first or second tier attacks do, I want to see what the ninth tier does while I'm still in the character creation. If I can't, well, still a vast improvement over what we have, consider it a feature request.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Based on what I am seeing in the screenshots looks like this will be possible. The example shows numbers for Vengeful Slice which appears to be unavailable from the power choice selection.

p.s. First edit before a red name!
  20. Base water features and the ability to take the Arachnos Flyer out for a test drive?
