Castle just has a thing for Psylocke and gets all tingly when someone mentions a powerset which is an almost direct rip of her abilities

If Dual Blades debuffs its own damage type, I foresee it being the most popular set EVER.

Imagine, a scrapper, tanker, brute or stalker (lol) that can debuff Lethal resistance when a majority of enemies in middle and upper end CoH have moderate to extreme Lethal resistance? Every lethal-damage set player in the game would want their very own Dual Blades buddy.

Psionic weaponry wouldn't have to be a ripoff of Psylocke. Just don't make it a purple katana. Learnt that lesson after ripping off Wolvy's claws. Maybe a nice energy spear you jab into your enemies, invading their mind and inflicting Fear as you punch through.

I suggested something like this before. But the fact is that a melee AT will never be given a resistance debuff that's this powerful. It's just not what they do. Their powers serve them, it's how they've been designed.

Also, I keep hearing about this wide-spread lethal resistance, but I'm just not seeing it. Robots resist lethal. Of those there aren't that many (Council Mek Men, Malta Titans, Arachnos Archnobots, Drones and Tarantulas) and rock men resist lethal. All the other enemies that I'm aware of either resist most everything or straight-up everything.

Finally, Psi Melee is all well and good, until you think about just how many things resist THAT, and Psi resistance comes in large doses. Robots, the undead, inanimate objects and so forth take barely any psi damage whatsoever, and that's more than just a bit of resistance.

My suggestion for Psionic Weaponry(please be listening BAB and Castle) is that the character creates different weapons out of psi energy for different attacks. So that if his first 2 attack powers create psionic blades(daggers or swords), then his third and fourth attack powers may be a psionic hammer or mace and the next is a different weapon like a spear(I like the idea of throwing a psi spear).

Damage would be something like a 2/3 psi and then 1/3 the appropriate damage type based on the weapon created(smashing for blunts and lethal for blades).

Well thats just my suggestion. The set wouldn't need to have ALL new animations either...just one or 2 to define its higher level signature attacks.

What do you guys think?

I did not vote for it for any of those reasons, as I never played those games. Also I think the choice was for dual weapond. I wanted escrima sticks, but I can live with blades.

I seriously doubt they would do anything like that. As cool as forming different psychic weapons would be, it would essentially cause you to redraw you weapon for nearly every attack. I think that would torque alot of people off, and I don't believe the devs would want something that compicated.

Which is one of the reasons that BAB had those sticks in the pic of his cubicle. He needed them to try out different attack motions. Animators do that quite often, so they can tweak the way it looks in the game. If I recall from the behind the scenes documentaries for some films, BAB would probably have attached to the sticks and to himself (or others that were trying out the new moves) sensors/reflectors which is used to help record movements and placement of the blades and the character.

Still assuming "the people" are mindless idiots that don't know how to have their fun? Why be so angsty about how you perceive people play? Would you be so surprised that my Dual Blades/Willpower character I'm making is a high tech futuristic person? Nothing to do with the previous fantasy games I've played before.

You guys are still kicking and screaming that your choice on the poll did not win. It sucks, I know but the decision has been made and the work is being done. Heck, I even wanted Force Field for a defense set but Willpower and Shields are going to be crazy fun. If you still feel like arguing why Dual Blades' production should be stopped in favor of making a new powerset delayed until Issues 12, then be constructive about it and don't casually toss out weak arguments.

Acting out what animation you want to do can be a tremendous help. I've acted out things from dialog to action scenes. It really helps when you record yourself doing these things to get in those subtle movements in the body here and there. Or even just as a great general guideline.

Personally, I don't like having stuff stuck to me, so maybe it's better that way anyways
