Hehe, i've long outgrown the need to level quickly so not really looking forward to the XP part of that double weekend if the drop rates remain the same.
But it does sound like a good opportunity for 50s to farm prestige/inf which is probably hurting on everyone after I9. 
I, for one, am getting sick of doule XP weekend. Not because it's not a great idea, but because this is the third one I'm going to miss. Each time I plan a vacation in advance, you go and announce another Double XP weekend when I'll be away from my PC.

Yes the timing always stinks for myself, they seem to come around the holidays when I vacation back home with friends and family and a bit after memorial day when I also am able to take vacation or other annual events planned.
Assuming it is more of a marketing tool than a actual reward as it seems to fall around the same time throughout the year and not very random.
Yes that is a tinge of bitterness in the post, but is only a game so will get over it and just would be tempted to create a bigger stable of alts
Everyone get some XP for me.
Some are legends because of their posts, others just post becoming legends in their own mind.

In the UK, they recently had a double XP weekend. Drop rates were doubled as well.

Sorry to come off snipish and sour but I have to get it off my chest.
Why does it have to be with such a short notice?
Why cant we have at least 1 month notice when this happens?
It´s cool for those taht has a easy time of rotating their duties or has none. But for some of us planning takes a little more than 2 weeks.
The first DB. XP weeknd I had to visit relatives abroad, and was unable to change it.
The second time, I had double shift saterday and sunday.
And this time I have double shift saterday and sunday as well.
Some of us has real lives and real jobs and simply cant change it on a whim.
As a Prison guard my work schedule is planned a month in advance, and simply cant be changed with such a short notice.
Sorry to come off all EMO and sour but it´s damn annoying to be left with the feeling that the double XP weekends is only being catered to those in school and people who can change their schedule with a moments (as 2 weeks is in real life time) notice.
*sigh*
I'll be able to play some, but it misses by a week either way occurring on a week-end when I could play 80-90% of the week-end. Bummer for me. Still should be enough playtime for me to get a couple of my high 30s really close to 50 or take many of my high 20s and low 30s to high 30s. Decisions, decisions.

As part of my Fathers Day gift, my wife had said I get the weekend to game all I want in peace. Now we get 2XP then as well. I thank you and so does my Rad/Rad. When it is over I will be looking for some STF fun with him. I will miss the first part of Friday because I will be at work so dont everyone get all of that XP before I get there.

Two weeks is plenty of notice for an in-game event. Its unfortunate for you that it doesn't work out with your work schedule, but for the vast majority of people, two weeks is more than enough notice.

I wish they would have too weekends in a row. maybe 10-12 hrs on each, that would benefit many !

Over two weeks is hardly "a moment's notice". It's unfortunate that you can't participate. However, your post makes it sound like most players need 5-weeks of notice in order to play CoX on a weekend.
There will always be people who have other things planned during a given weekend but most people are not going to benefit more from 5 week notice than 2 week notice. I expect the "my schedule is flexible if I have 5 weeks notice but not flexible if I only have two weeks notice" group is pretty small.
This really doesn't seem like a reasonable thing to complain about. Cryptic isn't the bad guy because you have an inflexible schedule.
*note: I know there are people who have month-scheduled-jobs. But they are very outnumbered by people who have other sorts of jobs (week schedules, 2-week schedules, regular 9-5 M-F jobs, students who don't have class on weekends, etc, etc, etc.) and they (rather than game companies) are responsible for their situations (which may be great other than missing some double xp weekends).

I just hope I get to enjoy it! That weekend is the middle of the month which means "restores" on our servers here (ie. me doing work)....so hopefully my co-worker will be able to do it that weekend!
