1st Double XP Weekend --- Friday at noon, Storm #2 gave a final blow to us, knocking power out completely for the entire weekend. (this affected a good chunk of the metro areaa... Couldn't convince the Devs to give us poor St. Louisans our own double XP weekend cuz of mother nature)

2nd Double XP Weekend... 230-1130 pm at work on Friday... 10a-7pm on Tuesday... 6am-4pm on Sunday....
Pretty much missed out that weekend.

Now.... Im off Friday..... Saturday im pretty much day shift, and sunday day shift, then dad's for fathers day....
Sooo. 2 out of 3 days... I can finally Enjoy Double EXP!!!!!
Unless of course, mother nature decides to throw a temper tantrum on St. Louis again....

I hate to ask for fear of not getting a dev to answer, but here goes.
Why would it onl last till the 17th on a Sunday, and not the morning of the 18th when the servers are rebooted.
I only ask since I work three 13hr shifts Fri-Sun

Yeah yeah, I know I'm only trying to get some of the dbl love for myself

I'm not a Dev but if it goes like every other DoubleXP weekend it wont actually quit until monday morning. They just say Sun.

I'll probably enjoy it, but my one friend is going to completely missing out on this weekend. Well, sucks to be him.

Ahh this will definetly work. Thank-you much Positron! You know we all love you even more now!

Any chance they could put this off by a week? The timing with Father's Day makes it pretty inconvenient for me unfortunately, and probably for a lot of others out there. Just putting this on the table, less whine and more a "what were you thinking?"

A father's day gift ? I can see it now. Sorry dad can't spend time with you, too busy enjoying you're father's day gift. Sorry kids, can't do anything with you, got a really cool father's day gift in a computer game. LoL. Put me down in the +1 for moving it a weekend so I can spend time with my dad and my favorite game.

Father's day is only one day. Do you guys wake up your dads at 5 a.m. Sunday and follow him around until he goes to bed that night because it's Father's day? I mean, there's a difference between spending time with dear ol' dad and not leaving the poor bugger alone. :P

The event starts at 9 a.m. Friday morning (PDT) and runs through Sunday evening. There is plenty of time to get mad double XP even without ignoring your dad and convincing him you're a heartless videogame-obsessed monster. Really!

I work on Friday. That means that there will be hours -- hours! -- when that double XP will just be wasting away while I earn my pay. Then the time I'll spend eating, sleeping, in the shower, out enjoying the sun...all that time wasted when I could be glued to my PC earning double XP!

Somehow I'll get through. I suspect those celebrating Father's day will manage as well.

I agree with you whole-heartedly. Even if some people do spend all day Sunday with their father, that still leaves half of Friday and all of Saturday.

Unless, of course, you're the dad like I am with several kids coming in on Friday and staying the weekend.

Now, I'm not about to miss a weekend with the kids to play a video game and I won't get my Depends in a knot about missing another 2XP weekend, but it is the kind of issue you'd hope someone might consider before scheduling an event.

Obviouisly they can't take into account everyone's schedule, but -- and this is just a wild guess -- I suspect a majority of people playing the game are fathers themselves and/or have fathers. So, taking Fathers Day into consideration before scheduling a 2XP weekend doesn't seem like an extraordinary expectation.

Double XP, starting on My Birthday! Well, Happy Birthday to me, then!

You didn't have to go to all that trouble. A card would have been fine.

They did take Father's Day into account -- it's mentioned directly in Positron's announcement (Positron also happens to be a father himself).

I understand Father's day is one day... but in this day and age of multiple families, numerous divorces, etc. there are many people who end up doing things on mutliple days.

This year I'm going to Vegas with dad. Last year I had two different father's days to celebrate (as could be the case with anyone married if family can't get together on the same day) and that's not even taking into consideration people that have children of their own.

I'm not saying it's a HUGE thing. It's double xp. Okay great, would be awesome to be there for it but my life isn't over since I'm missing it. I'm only saying that you'd think when they looked at the calender they'd rule out weekends with a major holiday where a lot of people travel and get together with family.

Sorry Dad. I spent the last 2 Dbl xp weekends working double shifts and visiting friends on vacation here in the state. I'm not missing this one. Sorry, but it's what happens when you forget a birthday just a month before. Muahahahaha.

Trust me... he was playing WoW the whole time.

Mentioning something and actually taking it into consideration are two very different things.

Now, maybe they did take it into consideration & I simply disagree with their conclusions (or possibly I'm not taking into consideration some unknown internal issues they also had to balance). However, overall it does seem like this particular weekend with a specific holiday that many people celebrate one way or another may not have been the best choice considering the many non-holiday weekends available.
