And yay, another double XP weekend! Level 40 and Grandville content, here I come!
OK, first... fabulous! I've been waiting for one of these since I missed the last one. But... seriously? Over father's day weekend?! I realize several fathers might actually play this game and more power to 'em, but I'm sure I'm not the only player out here who's father doesn't... Surely there could've been a better weekend to do this?
I entirely second Kayes' sentiments here. The week before, the week after would have worked just as well... why specifically choose a weekend with a high degreee of import to many people? Are there some repressed father issues at work here? Perhaps someone should see a counselor...

Why bother spending a weekend cramming for finals when you can spend it cramming as much CoH playtime in as humanly possible?
Rule number six of an empathy defender is NEVER underestimate a blaster's ability to die. I don't care if he has CM, Fort, both RAs, bubbles (both FF and Sonic), and is fighting next to a Storm defender with hurricane on. If there is a way to die in that situation, the blaster will find it.
You'd figure as a game with a comic book theme, the devs would maybe look into whats going on in comic book land that weekend. Wizard World Philadelphia is that weekend and considering that a couple years ago, NCSoft actually had a booth there, you would think they wouldn't schedule opposite it. Kind of sucks for the fans that are going to it, that we have to miss out on the weekend. Just my personal opinion but for a game based around comics, its poor judgement.
Due to ad hoc RL interferences that weekend (and the fact that Australia is almost a day ahead of server time), I'm going to miss most of it. 
However, well done Posi and team!! Hopefully the next one will see me able to take full advantage of what is a fantastic thing!
Id like to see double xp weekends become a monthly occurance

My emo post came off all to bad yesterday. Reallive issues caused me to be more upset than I had any right to be.
And the real job and real lifes comment was out of line. (at least it was poorly worded. What i meant waas that i wasnt a student and didnt have a parttime job that lets me take off with 2 weekes notice)
All in all I am just saying sorry for the bad form post i made yesterday. It really isnt the normal tone in my posts.

First, how many of the hundreds of thousands of subscribers will go to that convention in Philly? Yeah, not a significant percentage I would gather.
Second, think like a business. If Cyrptic is at the convention showing off the game, then:
1. People trying out new characters at their booth are going to level up to 5 in just 15 minutes of play, making them really like the game.
2. The press and biz will see most of the servers conning yellow or red, giving the impression of popularity.
Well, that's if they have a booth again...

I completely agree. i've been waiting eargerly for another double xp day, and here, not only will i be stuck working since fathers day is a busy weekend for a restraunt, but then, when i get off work, i'll be spending it with my fahter. couldn't we have done the double xp thing on a weekend that wasn't a holiday? also, why not extend it into the weekdays a bit, for those of us who work weekends? i'm really happy the Dev's are doing this, its great, but i wish a little more thought would have gone into the timing.

It's a fantastic idea, and I'm glad that they are hosting it! It will really give people a chance to see the I9 improvements, as the incentive will most certainly drag many people into playing.

<sigh> I have precisely *one* entirely free weekend in June - and that weekend isn't it.
I have a party to go to that Sat - that will run from early afternoon till late. And I _never_ miss this party. (Not once in 19 years.) Partly because it's a major social thing for a club I'm in, and mostly because I met my wife because I attended the first of them. (She wasn't there, but events that followed from the party lead me to meet her.)
