I believe what's going on here is that there is a difference between the Crab Spider gloves and the Wolf Spider gloves. I just ran a quick mission on my own new Soldier and all the Crabs and Longfangs have the mitten hands.
See it here:

At the moment it does not. That makes three of us hoping to hear whether they'll add it as an option.

Okay, got a question. I waited until now to ask so that I could test it and see if I needed to ask ;-)
Are there any plans to add SB3 to the choices of costume boosters included in the Architect box?
(I've already got Cyborg and Magic looks great, but Science is really more my thing.) -
how do you turn this on
If I ever have a Cobra, I want to mount machine guns on it... I learned it from video games! -
Gonna be good times. And a great excuse to wear a shirt with clockwork dinosaurs on it! Of course, one doesn't really need an excuse for that, right?
-
So, anyone else going to Maker Faire? Looks to be an exciting and geeky weekend!
I've got three car loads of people heading down from Colorado - three of us play CoH. Maybe we can link up and say hi! -
[Edit] Darn, scooped in a different section. That'll teach me to not read the boards![/edit]
A local story! Second link has the actual story...
Klingon Weapon Used in 2 7-Eleven Robberies
Colorado Springs Clerks Recognized the Batleth
Its come to this.
A man wielding a batleth robbed two 7-Eleven stories in Colorado Springs overnight. The first assault using the deadly Klingon weapon occurred at 1:50 a.m. when a man police described as white in his 20s, wearing a black mask, black jacket, and blue jeans walked in brandishing the weapon. The clerk recognized the traditional armament and forked over an undisclosed amount of cash.
Thirty minutes later, according to The Denver Channel, the same man hit a second store but this time the clerk showed bravery in the face of certain death. He too recognized the ancient weapon but refused the demand and the would-be thief showed his true colors and fled.
Police are reviewing the stores surveillance tapes and Lt. David Whitlock said he does not plan to release the video or photographs "at this time." -

No kidding! I even brought this up at the San Jose Meet and Greet. Really need a Rikti Monkey plushie!!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Second. (Third? Whatever.) After HL1, HL2, and episodes 1 and 2... I don't think I could stand a headcrab plushie. Much less the headcrab hat! Creepy!
How about a stuffed BAB? With kung-fu grip! -
Oh, man. This is epic (ha!). I'm going to make a bad joke based off an old internet meme so... avert your eyes.

New Blood Widow: What does the scouter say about his power level?
New Bane Spider: It's over nine thousaaaaaand!

This new issue announcement? It's over eleven thousand. Huzzahs are in order, NCNC. -
Say you've got a mission to hunt Lost in Kings Row (normal hunt mission) or Vahzilok in Faultline (Numina) and an invasion hits the zone. You'll have to risk debtless defeat and almost certain enjoyment during which time the mobs you need won't be on the streets. You'll have to either hang out or go do something else before you can complete that specific mission!

What good is 2 SLI video cards, 4 gigs of ram, a 30" monitor, multi-core processors, a scsi card and 15000 rpm drives good for if NOT to make hair, capes, loincloths, and multiple auras look fabulous.

Since no game is going to come close to requiring that kind of hardware for maybe 5+ years I guess you wasted your money. No game company ever gears their game for the "bleeding edge" and never will.
As for the rest of your post it was mostly too silly to read much less comment on...
[/ QUOTE ]
CryTek? Sure, it scales well (*very well*) but few people have the hardware to run Crysis on full settings. Aside from the SLI, that's about what you need!
The truth is that here in our fair City we're dealing with a four year old game engine. Sure, they managed to refit it with a few new things but under all the shiny paint and the body kit, it's still a 1986 Honda. -

Or the fact you listen to a certain radio show.

Radio show, huh?
*phone rings* "Nick Danger, Third Eye."
"Uh, I wanna order a, uh, pizza to go and no anchovies"
"No anchovies? You've got the wrong man. I spell my name 'Danger.'"
"What?"
*click*
Or the one that's in the game already...
"Melanie Haber?" "..."

it is *now*! (as of "This afternoon") Thus spracht Lighthouse -
*cough* *splat* ... is that blood? Hmm, I must be coughing up blood out of happiness! No, wait... those two scimitars sticking out of my chest are the more logical explanation.
I can't WAIT! Brawler has indeed outdone himself on those animations, as was previously suggested. Bravo! -
I feel Protea's testing methodology is fine. There are three elements to the test, I'll keep using the same letters he was:
A - Brawl, which [should have] a consistant animation time no matter whether one's Axe is drawn or not. (This could be tough to prove, but a 1s difference would be noticable.)
B - Gash, nominally should have the same animation time drawn or not, per BAB.
C - Beheader, which is only executed with the axe already drawn and therefore will be constant.
If we work with the assumption that A and C are constant regardless of weapon draw then B is the only variable and the experiment is valid.
I'll have to play with this on my Katana scrapper when I get home today.
Edit: After reading BAB's post here it's been established that A is in fact a variable. Drat. -
[ QUOTE ]
It also mentioned knockback IOs. I thought we weren't going to get any of those.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you read closely, what we *are* getting is Knockback Buff IOs, and what we *aren't* getting is Knockback DeBuff enhancements, of any nature. People want a way to drop the effect from a full Knockback to a mere Knockdown, but they haven't got the tech for it.
Edit: Oi, beaten to the punch. -
Good one, Sadako.
Zim: Well, my evil mission was a success.
Gir: No it wasn't!
Zim: Silence!
I'm only getting more excited about this issue and everything in it. Huzzah! -
Hmm let's see here. "The door comes to those who have traveled"(sic)... Anyone else have theories about that one? Mine seems too obvious to be true, but I find myself wondering if there's a special hidden (in plain sight?) door in Fort Hades now...
I'm also wishing I'd taken code study more seriously. All I remember is 'a' 'n' 's' and 'o.' Lame. -
[ QUOTE ]
So how do I arrest someone with a pair of knives? Stab them till they are almost dead? It seems to me that for every comic book "hero" who kills people, there are 100 who refuse to take a life.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure, it's not knives... but take a look at Kenshin! (better yet, start with Samurai X) Guy wields a katana and manages not to kill people. Knocks 'em around a bit with the flat of his sword and they get all confused when they realize he hasn't vivisected them. (Oversimplified for expediency)
Edit: Spelling -
Okay, you win that one. Think about it from that angle (the real issue at hand, that is) and this change would be a mere QoL tweak that wouldn't fix the base problem. Truly, the reasons not to change them like that (amount of coding/art time this would consume) greatly outweigh the reasons for changing them (maybe players would use them more if they were like candy).
Reading over the second paragraph there and Teeto_K's post (which I missed) I agree entirely.
I win a cookie (thorough flogging?) for quoting an unimportant paragraph to write about how unimportant it was. -
Found a couple interesting parts in that wikipedia article that was linked earlier.
Attributed to Carl Jung:
[ QUOTE ]
... He symbolises the One, who proceeds from the clash of opposites, and he therefore constitutes the secret of the prima materia which [...] unquestionably stems from man's unconscious.

And unattributed/uncited:

[/ QUOTE ]
On the surface, possibly refrencing the conflict introduced in the Rikti War zone, and maybe pointing a finger toward the Freakshow? Intriguing, I cannot wait! -
Heh, I think you missed the point there. What he was trying to say is that there is a piece of code that already exists (Someone, _Castle_ maybe, confirmed this) called "Grant." They use this in a number of powers (Chain Induction, Holiday Cheer, Holiday Spirit, and [apparently] the blue mito attack already mentioned, plus Noxious Gas) that have the capability to grant an entity a temporary power. There is a lot of flexibility here, in fact I would not be surprised if Empowerment buffs as they exist now are assigned using the Grant method.
The section you quoted from that post was the wrong one - you may remember the Holiday Spirit power, when activated, gave you a new Auto power of the same name which *does* persist through death. This could work. =) -
I entirely second Kayes' sentiments here. The week before, the week after would have worked just as well... why specifically choose a weekend with a high degreee of import to many people? Are there some repressed father issues at work here? Perhaps someone should see a counselor...
Oh and... DOOOOOM!!!one -
Nah we've already heard we're taking the fight to Lord Recluse when we're working for States. Somehow I don't think a Riktified/whatever former hero would be working for him. Seems more the lone wolf type.
What about another hero we haven't heard from? Hmm... -
"Wait, you mean BENDER is the evil Bender?"
Somehow I don't think a heroic Turbo-Ski could pull off the goatee look...
