Managing Editor Jon Wood from MMORPG.com recently had the chance to speak to Matt "Positron" Miller, the Lead Designer on City of Heroes and City of Villains, to get the latest details on their upcoming content expansion, Issue 11: A Stitch in Time. Here’s an excerpt:

a better approach this time - letting them do most of the writing and minimal direct quotes. Posi has had a tendancy in the past to put his armored boot in his mouth.

Sounds pretty cool. It'd be even cooler if when we go back to the event where Recluse took the Rogue Isles from President Marchand, we can choose to help Recluse OR Marchand.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned by the devs or not, but I did see something concerning the combo system for dual blades:

If you read closely, what we *are* getting is Knockback Buff IOs, and what we *aren't* getting is Knockback DeBuff enhancements, of any nature. People want a way to drop the effect from a full Knockback to a mere Knockdown, but they haven't got the tech for it.

So... if we can only create a door to the Ouroboros Citadel after we've been exposed to time travel, and we can only time travel by going to the Ouroboros Citadel, how do we get exposed to time travel in the first place?

That sounds about right considering they haven't even started closed beta yet. My bet is Dec. 18. (Tuesday) since thats when they "usually" release issues.

Of course I could be WAY off.

If it stays within the Fall 2007 release date, however, it doesn't necesarily guarantee a release by 12/21, but I'd bet that it will be out by then.

Also, yeah saw the part about teleporting to the Ouroboros Citadel. So, is that a new zone? Co-op but without teaming? Surely they wouldn't make two different citadels for heroes and villains.

I think they'll be doing really well to have this out the door before the end of December. The dev team is a fair bit more experienced now, but it's still not an easy task to get two powersets for four ATs balanced in that short a time. Damage control on poorly-balanced sets is very hard once the sets are live, and I think Castle is busy enough just cleaning up the existing problem sets.
