Pocket D Jubilee comments and feedback!
I didn't enjoy this event either. I'm not a fan of forced teaming, and teaming with the other side doesn't do much for me.
I forget who was what, but the CoT mission that opens the arc was WAY too frickin' long.
In the end, I ended up working the system so Snaptooth conned grey just to get it over with.
Sorry devs, two thumbs down on this event.
Overall I enjoyed it, though I think it would be good to create a couple of new foes. At least that way you can have something to rotate in a bit, even if time dictates that you have to reuse previous events. Of course, I understand that you have to find the time to create those new foes first...
In a way, I like the Valentine/Jubilee event mission better than the Christmas/New Year one. There's a mild sense of urgency in the Snaptooth one, though it's fairly easy to deal with. On the other hand, the Christmas one from this year is more challenging overall. I'm not saying Snaptooth is a slouch (he and his buddies hit damn hard). But he's a central single opponent that's tough - the Christmas mission was a bit tougher overall. The best of both worlds would be cool here; a overall tough mission with some sense of urgency. As always, please be careful not to substitute frustrating for challenging, as hard and subjective as that may be. I think you did pretty well for the Father Time stuff.
Thanks!

Feedback: Not all that enjoyable for a couple reasons:
1) Winter event was so much better. The chalet setting was better, the exp was better, the chalet setting was better, the soloability was better, no hordes of ambushers, skiing around the chalet was better, and did I mention the chalet?
2) The stalling on the 2nd missions. I have a gazillion alts. I actually ran most of them through the winter stuff. But the Valentine stuff, it's just prohibitive to do so. You crash and burn waiting to get both of the part 2s done to move on to the DJ.
The only enjoyability I found were the couple times I worked on different strategies for dealing with the mega ambushes when solo. Also, I frequently bop through the Pocket to get where I need to go, and a couple times I helped a broadcaster out with a 2nd mission--that was ok as a nice travel diversion.
For my money, make other events in the Pocket more like Winter, less like Valentine's. And for any devs reading, please consider the suggestion floating around the event comment threads to change the Team Search function to display both factions when in Pocket D.

i am split about it... on one hand it is nice... on the other hand the whole you HAVE to team with a villain feels abit drab... I'm on the fence here... Winter event was better... And next year it would be nice to see a new event.

This was the first Event that I skipped entirely. Snaptooth needs to be retired for a while, he's been used too often.

i have to agree with everyone else, Snaptooth has now been done to death.. and should be left that way. for a while at least anyway..
i also agree that an AV made specifically for EACH event would be an excellent idea.. possibly changing it up every event or two.
a summer solstice event? sounds cool to me.. or maybe an Independence Day event? fireworks and particle effects do go hand in hand.
also, i had the same problem with trying to find a villain on almost every occasion. however, i enjoy the Hero/Villain teaming against a common enemy.. even having it required isn't a bad idea.. it just needs a little extra something.
why not have NPCs for either side available for teaming if you can't find a player to team with? this way we can have a required cross-team, but wouldn't be hindered by it either.
i like the events overall, we just need some variety and a feature or two to smooth out the operations.

It wasn't the most exciting re-visit, but at least it did give the new costume pieces I missed last year. And I had the opportunity to get the Weed Wacker and other villain CoT badges for my heroes. But sometimes it was hard to find a villain in the right range to help farm for them. We've done this twice now so hopefully it will be a much different event next year.

ah, as I just said in another thread on this subject, I'm really tired of facing down Snaptooth.
I understand why the event from last year was re-used, but It would be nice to see a new threat in the next event. enough of that annoying Red-cap!

For me, the biggest thing that is annoying about him are the never ending - or near enough so - ambushes that agro on you unless you zone!

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
I agree that repeating the same missions several times for each character was tedious. It is a problem I already had with the winter event.
Making the reward acocunt wide would be nice.
Also, it would be nice to do something different fight somebody else than Snaptooth, for example. Is that really that much extra-work to design new enemies? (Honest question, I do not know...).
All it all, I would agree with Memphis on this one...
Three things:
1) Entirely New Map for Snaptooth (maybe some Roman ruins?)
2) Provide an alternative means by which Heroes or Villains can fight Snaptooth for lack of a supporting teammate from "the other side"
I entered the event about a week late and it was next to near impossible on a week night to find someone willing/able to help finish the joint hero/villain mission (most folks had already finished within the first three nights of release). I had better luck finding someone on the weekend but still took a bit of time.
And....
3) For those who "earned" DJ Zero the first (and now second) year, can we keep him as a contact when this event goes up next year? Still scratching my head wondering why I had to run it again when I'd already earned him as a contact.
Otherwise, definitely a lot of fun.

this is another great point! searching for an opposing faction boils down to spamming the broadcast channel instead of simply seeing who's out there and sending a PM/invite.
so, yes, PLEASE add dual-faction searches to cross-over events.

I don't enjoy looking for teams. My teaming tends to be very spontaneous. So I ignored the event almost completely. (It's hard to miss the new contact notice when you log in, but that's to be expected and I didn't mind that.)
What can I say? I would expect forced teaming for this event. It's pretty much a requirement to keep in the spirit of the holiday. I'm sure it worked out great for a lot of people... until they ran into the Red Caps and Snaptooth, at least.
My only suggestion is to avoid using Snaptooth and the Red Caps for more than one holiday. Variety is good. Speaking of which, also avoid using CoT for holiday events. I like them, but they're overused already.
I for the most part enjoyed the event. I only have one character that's my badge collector, and, even on that one I will skip badges if they seem tedious. I wasn't able to do the missions last year (I had a 1 month old at home) so all the missions were new to me.
By chance I ran most of the missions as a level 12 villain. I happened to be logged in with him when there were some requests on a global channel for help in Pocket D. I teamed with a couple of heroes. We got tons of XP and enjoyed using the special buffs you can buy from the bartender.
In summary, it was fun because it was something new. I have dozens of alts. There is no way I would bother running the missions on all of them. It was the same for me for the winter event. I ran it on a couple of characters and then moved on. I do agree the winter event was much better. It's obvious the devs spent more time setting up the winter event.
The two biggest reasons I didn't bother with the event were:
1) Snaptooth is worn out (we were running him just a few weeks ago for the Winter Event) and during that even I ended up wasting a ton of time doing Snaptooth missions, because the devs took away the temporary power rewards from all the heroes I bothered getting them for ... Including several I made specifically to get the temporary powers. After it being live for over a month with NO WORD from the devs that there was an issue with the way those powers were working in game ...
2) Any event which forces you to team for any reason, takes the player's control of their fun away from them. I did waste an hour in Pocket D early on in the event (which for my play schedule is an entire play session), and was not able to get a team as most people were running the missions with their mains and I was wanting to run it with a lowbie alt ... Which in turn motivated me to ... NOT waste my time again.
I found the event rather boring. It was a straight up rehash of last year's event, and frankly, I'm sick of facing overgrown garden gnomes in these events.

I really enjoy any opportunity to mix and match Heroes and Villains. The rewards were nicely done this year as well.
That being said, I echo the sentiment that Snaptooth has almost completely played himself out. However I have a suggestion for the future:
In the course of normal missions within each range of levels there is a randomized table for several different bosses. So even if I do several Arachnos missions in a row, I may see an Executioner, a Night Widow, and Toxic Tarantula.
In the future, even if the structure of the event is fundamentally the same, why not set things up so that Snaptooth teams up with some other Elite Boss types? Then instead of facing off against Snappy 5 times, I get a mix of Snappy, the Gamester, some Mega Carnie Ring Mistress, or a Tsoo Elite Boss, for example.
The mission and it's goals don't even need to change, however the script of the boss and their abilities would be different and it would make the repetition less obvious.
Please continue the annual events. They're nice. I don't even particularly demand new goodies and new foes every year. Just do the best you can to smooth out the most boring aspects of the missions you want us to do.

Please come up with a new event villain!
Honestly, once I found out Snaptooth was involved, I lost my enthusiasm. For all my characters he's really really tedious, and for a fair shake of them he's too tough to be worth the effort.
However, my badge character (a Hero) hung around Pocket D for quite a while over several days, broadcasting her availability and searching for others, to no avail. After that, combined with the above, my interest was gone.
I am not opposed to the event mind you, it just wasn't working out for me. If others enjoyed it then I can't say much.
Just to add a suggestion...maybe it would be cooler if these holiday events seemed to have a little more to do with the holidays themselves? One of the reasons the Halloween and Winter events are a little more fun is that they're firmly rooted in the holidays. The Valentine's event just seems kind of tossed together.
Instead of forcing villians and heroes to team for Valentine's Day, maybe just allow it but not have it be a requirement? Instead of requiring either or to destroy this or that...maybe make the missions about saving a hero and a villian that have fallen in love and then facing down an Elite Boss or AV that is intent on destroying them and the world because of that? I don't know...facing Snaptooth again so soon after the Winter Event seems like a wasted opprotunity.

BTW - thank you for asking for post-event feedback. It's appreciated!
Looking at it in isolation, I thought it was great. Having to team with the opposing faction is fun. Snaptooth is really tough, but if your team has both factions and you use the Dimension Drop powers, you can slap him around pretty good.
However, in the context of it being the same stuff as last year, meh.
My suggestion for next year: come up with some new missions and a new featured villain but have it linked or parallel to the Snaptooth mission. Have 4 or 5 rewards but give people the option of doing Snaptooth 5 times, the new one 5 times or some combination thereof. (i.e. both arcs end up with the same list of rewards.)

This is my first reply ever on the forums, and I'll have to agree with many of you on the following:
1. Searching for a villian was painful and frustrating. Not having a "find member" for heroes to find a villian didn't help either.
2. The Snaptooth character was not relevant to Valentine's Day; should have been like, Saint Valentine himself being saved (for heroes), or attacked (for villians).
3. The mission set was too deep (four grouped ones plus a Snaptooth (x3 kills) x five Snaptooth missions) to get the Badge.
4. No event badge just for login.
Solutions to this:
1. Make the Valentines event simpler; its too heavy after theWinter/New Years Event; this can be done with only a single award badge for teaming with the villian way at the end (just once).
2. Work out an event for each calendar quarter (winter, spring, summer, fall) and make aplicable to the season (Winter event was dead on).
3. Make each event a month long at least; many of us are not glued to the computer as often as you think!
Hoepfully, the devs will see this and all our other comments.
Aside from that, this is the GREATEST game I have EVER played! The word "addicted" isn't descriptive enough! Great job on at least having events; it does make the game exciting!
Honestly? ...Meh. On Infinity, it seems like interest waned in less than a week. I had a heck of a time finding a team for any level character (hero OR villain). In contrast to the Winter Event, which, even during the week extenstion, always seemd to be at least partially full.
And I concur with the "so tired of Snaptooth" tendencies. Wow, do I need to see this guy again?
So, IMHO, definitely not an event to remember. Sorry.

Why don't the mobs in the Snaptooth mission scale up to Team size? This really disapointed me.

Also having to do the event multiple times per character is also pretty annoying when you have multiple characters.

You didn't have to do the event multiple times - you chose to do the event multiple times. Nobody forced you.

Personally, I chose *not* to because of the tediousness.
