I believe that Statesman's heirs do age at a slower rate.
It does kinda makes sense, a number of characteristics are inherited equally from both side with the offspring being somewhat in the middle.
And, maybe, if she looked like a twenty something years old, people would have trouble overlooking it and would tend to underestimate her.
Plus, part of maturity is actually due to physiological changes in the brain as it grows older. It does make sense that a slower aging process might also slow down this maturation process.
Plenty of wiggle room to try and 'fix' the canon. -
7. Another idea, the final fight takes place on top of a tower, surrounded by a few other towers.
Groups of minions spawn on the surrounding towers at regular interval and take pot-shots at the players. This way, AoE powersets are busy while the single target powers focus on the AV.
8. At regular interval in the fight, the AV summons ambushes, that's not unusual in itself, except that the fight happens in the middle of statue (think, for example of Qin Shi Huang's terracotta army) and the ambushes consist of some of the statues animating...
Classic comic book flair 'nuff says! -
The dual colour is great.
Both options would be nice, of course, but, if choice needs to be made, I think that the dual colour is much better than just the buttons. -

But the holes in this story are so big it'd be like if Superman suddenly forgot who Lois Lane even was and then got down on one knee and proposed to Perry White.

Knowing Silver-age Superman... That's probably the story on a couple of comics in the 60ies... -

What toons are you planning to change colors on, why, and which color?

None.

What about for AE creatures?

Interesting, but it might ask for a lot of the ark available space... -

The only positive thing is that I know that when I buy a Booster pack it helps for the development costs so that all players may enjoy other content. However, I think that limiting all the very cool emotes and costume pieces to Booster packs will create a have and have-nots segregation for players that is not conducive to the community. Everyone should be able to enjoy high-collars, labcoats and slick Valkyrie armor.
Frankly, I think it hurts the community when these pieces are not available to the general player. New costume pieces create excitement; limiting them just creates resentment.
[/ QUOTE ]
Very well said. More and more, I feel like I'm playing one of those free-to-play-with-microtransactions MMOs instead of the AAA sub-based MMO I signed up for. The I15 costume pieces compared to the booster pack stuff is a real joke.

They could do what WoW did. Make a gard game, have a rare card with a code to get an item that doesn't really do anything for you but for looks.
Would that make you feel better about it? And WoW has millions of players. Many of them who bought the cards, don't actually play the CCG, but wanted the codes (and certain ones at that)...I know this!
I watched my friends buy them! When I heard about one of them, I was almost tempted to listen to their pleas to join them in WoW. >.> I didn't though! I swear! WoW is sooo boring to me.
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe they had plans for such a card game actually.
I don't know if it ever got published, I am not much into card games. -

Also, I would like to point out that from what I can see, the Super Science booster does not include Speed Suits.
Therefore, the booster is officially EPIC FAIL.
[/ QUOTE ]
What's a "speed suit"?
[/ QUOTE ]
Like a jumpsuit but for Super-scientists.
(It from the cartoon Venture bros -second season I believe- I wanted to find you the scene on youtube but it does not seem to be there...) -

Hi, Im Bruce Harlick, aka Horatio, the guy who was in charge of the Reichsman Task Force and Strike Force. (snipitty, snip, snip)

Not having played the TF or the SF yet, I can not comment on the issues.
However, I wanted to mention how much I apreciated this response. Especially considering how frank and candid it feels compared to a canned PR statement.
Thanks; I really appreciate that.
Now, I concur to the above suggestion: We need an Horatio character in game. I imagine a villain that want to appear sophisticated and only speaks through Shakespeare quotes. Bonus point if he mangles them too. -

Boomtown: How expansive is the feature can you take a brute, convert him to hero and then play in the actual hero zones like Atlas Park including all your enhancements, powers and infamy?
Matt Miller: Again, I dont want to get too deep into the specifics of Going Rogue just yet, but the short answer is yes, you can be a Heroic Brute. More details forthcoming.
That alone gives me the impression you will not see a villain turned hero in Atlas park (the true atlas park).
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, a) We know that the switching is going to take place through missions so while it might not be level-restricted (we don't know that) it will likely take some time, meaning levels to complete. It is possible that no Brute will be in Atlas because, by the time they get done switching, they will have out-levelled the zone.
b) Are infamy and accolades going to be transferable? It poses a few problem some of them thematic (no matter if you see infamy as real money or not, it should not transfer from villain to hero) so it make sense for them not to have made a definitive decision on the subject yet. -

Once you are moving past tinting power colors, and you move into changing power animation... Isn't that pretty much you being a developer at that point?
I guess it makes sense, we write our own missions now, we should go ahead and make all the animations too. Slowly the Developers will turn its subscriber base into its work force. We all have jobs at paragon studios, we only have to pay 15.00 a month plus tax for this part time job that won't do jack for us on our resume'. Awesome!
Honestly I don't want custom animations, even if they could implement the feature, seems like you would run into problems with people trying to shorten animation time, activation time etc, and even if it wasn't all that, sounds like it would be a lot of work to animate each of my characters by myself. Or I would have to select from pre existing animations and how is that different than what I have now?
Give me color tintable powers and I'm happy.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd assume that you'd chose from a set of standard animations that all last for the same time.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or separate the activation time from the animation time. This way, if you picked a shorter animation, you'd have a short pause in the animation before or after the power activation.
Mostly is wouldn't be noticeable as most typical animations are, I believe, quite similar in the length of their animations.
It would look weird on some long casting animations such as snipe but only a few problems are concerned.
Another problem is if you pick an animation that is longer than the original one... I case, in this case, that's your own darn choice. And, after all, it does not change that much anyway.
I don't know how much effort it would require from the devs to implement this. After all, all the animation work is already done.
If they are going to implement it, I would also like an option to select several animations for one power and have the game cycle between them.
My main idea would be to use this for the various flight poses, although it would be fun and bring a bit of variety in the fight scenes... -
Crey seems like a good suggestion to me.
They are interested in super-powers to the point of cloning dead heroes, they certainly would be interested in recruiting your character.
Also, Nemesis. It's always a Nemesis plot, after all. -

I wouldn't kick new map textures out of the sack, but I'd much prefer that energy go toward fresher, more interactive types of missions.
I hardly notice mission maps, except for the ones I hate (oranbega, layer cake cave room).
[/ QUOTE ]
I would like both, personally.
Also, I tend to feel like they are somewhat linked as you'd have to modify some of the existing maps to allow for these new interactive items to take place...
I'd also love new enemy groups. -
I recommend the short mission: 'What lurks below' recently (ID number: 205 071) by Dark Seraphim.
It's was a short mission in the sewers, where the author took great advantage of the boss system to offer a great variety of foes.
The ever changing flow of enemies was really enjoyable.
I also played through the humorous arc: 'Welcome to burger clown' (ID number: 185 691).
Not as good, but still pretty good. A lot of customs bosses and an EB at the end but still soloable. -
At his launch; CoH was also novative in the use of instanced content (I don't know of any game that followed that road to such an extent and put such an emphasis on them, but it is still more common now than before CoH launched).
Also, the travel powers were not as common as they are today. Similarly, the levelling curve was quicker on CoH than most games of its time. It may not be the case any more, but it might be due partly to CoH's example...
All in all, it was surprisingly less grindy than most MMORPG than came before and was among the first of the faster generation of MMORPG that were to follow.
The Sidekick system, the absence of loot or PVP were also elements that, while they never took old (not even here for the last two ones) were original and contributed to offer something 'new'.
So, I can see why people would think CoH has innovative and influential.
How much of them is Jake Emmert's doing, we will never know.
But, I have to say, I personally always quite like the man, never felt like he replaced my muffler with a live Ethiopian baby or anything... -
They can handle it? I got Nosfe dying in a random spawn on the way to the room...
-

You could leave behind your allies in the corridor which goes around to the right of the main battle hall by use of the Oportal. Then run back in, go left, clear the minions, and then pull the EBs... back down to the corridor to the left where your allies are still waiting to help you. Oportal and repeat with the next EB.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep; I tried that too.
At first it worked fine and cleared up the spawns. But then Vandall would not follow me or, if I waited for him too long, he would defeat me and then defeat Nosfe...
I ended up recruiting some players and it was quite easy. Especially as we had the players that 'Mastered' our allie stay a bit behind.
But, my thinking now is that this TF would be quite soloable if we had a mastermind style panel to give orders to our 'minions'.
At least but them on purely defensive to limit their aggro, or maybe just a 'stay put' option... -
He strongly advise it.
But Twilight son does the same for Smoke and Mirror and it passes easily with a Shivan.
What I did is to clear the map up to the last room, then run with my guys in a corner and use my Orouboros portal to leave them behind.
This way, I was able to clear the room fairly easily.
Now, my problem is the ambushes...
I was able to pull Vandal... I got killed quickly but I am going to try again, in the hope to pull him to the other side and take him down there.
If it works; I will probably try doing the same with Maestro.
I would probably have a much easier and quicker time recruiting a team, I know. But, now... IT'S PERSONAL! -
I am going to try to give that a try.
If that fail; I will probably sacrifice Burkholder and only recruit Nosferatus when the room is cleared. -
I am trying to solo the Lazarus TF on my blaster and have hit a wall...
Even with freeing both allies, Buckholder and Nosferatus, and popping a Shivan, I just can't seem to win.
Is there a way to by-pass the many low level troops? They are low level but there are so many of them...
Any advice would be appreciated. -
I really like the second idea. It would make the world feels so much more dynamic.
I would add to that the possibility of given buildings to spawn specific missions. For example, a bank produce a short bank robbery (like a safeguard, but only the bank portion) and such... -
Well; I was formed old school. Back when we only had the surviving 8's and the Shard's and that you bided your love ones good bye before entering a TF, as you were not going to see them again for a long time...
So I took the habit to give informations. It seemed polite to let the people know what they were committing to.
But it is, indeed, not so much of a requirement nowadays with shorter sweeter TFs... -
Hello; I guess this is of interest to the P.E.R.C: I am planning on running the Imperious task force tomorrow Saturday at 8PM Eastern time.
People are invited to join the fun and come kick butts. Butts in leather skirts! -
As the post title mentioned; I'd like to run the Imperious Task Force (also known as Time's Arrow) tomorrow Saturday at 8PM Eastern time (7PM Central).
It is a 6 persons' minimum event. Everybody's welcome regardless of AT or alignment although you'll need to be at least level 35 and have access to Cimerora.
The task force is relatively short (4 missions, with a good mix of enemies).
Here are more information about it. And here some more.
Come on and play people! It's going to be fun!
