GVE Jumpjet.. bleh, esp. for lowbies

I would not recommend upgrading to the GVE goodies if you are inclined to think the Jump Jet Prestige power will be useful for a lowbie.. or in general.

The power is designed to augment travel powers and give them a little more speed while adding vertical ability. I wish I'd known just how "little more" it would add beforehand.

It's useless for lowbies (less than 14) unless you consider travelling at the speed of 3 slotted Hover for 30 seconds as useful.

I'm less than impressed using at higher levels too. I had anticipated more umph and less "is this thing on?" when using it. Lesson learned.

i briefly tried it and too thought it was a bit unweildy. Would've much prefered the jump pack from villains. But this seems to be tailored for superspeeders and SJers in Grandville and not new heroes.

I was also a bit disappointed in the costume extras. Didn't seem to be that many that I found. Justice/Sinister shoulder, boot, glove option and a new pattern on bottoms. Did I miss anything else?

Hopefully the tiki lounge will make this purchase a little more worthwhile.

I most certainly would not call it a vertical Superjump, considering how slow it is by itself. It is similair to Superjump in the way it works, except it's a fraction of Superjmp's speed. If one has Superjump already, it definitely makes a difference ...if you think that's worth the extra $....

You weren't whining, so don't take this as a personal criticism, but it does make sense for it to give very little advantage. That's been what they've done with previous purchasable bonus things.

Note that the gloves and boots have two different versions: With Plate, and standard. I'm assuming from your lack of enthusiasm, you haven't found the w/ Plate version, as it's sweet as hell looking (at least Sinister is). Note that Sinister and Justice have their own patterns as well, like Chaos Leather or Buckled leather.

And the Jump Jet gives me continual jump for 30 seconds. You can touch the roof of the world with it.

Well i like the jump jet gives my lowbies to get around the high walls you can run into sometimes and my superspeeders now have superjump. and i do like the costume peicesvery nice imho.

For Lowbies I can see the Jump Jet being useful in The Hollows, and I particularly like the Pocket D TP power .. talk about quck Transport to Founders, Kings and Talos ... not too shabby .. =)

I did buy, and accept what I got, the GvE add on.

The pocket D, while nice, has an extremely slow animation time (so slow, it is the slowest time I've seen in 21 months of play).

For me, a badge hunter <smile>, I got the badge, and the costume options ;-)

I noticed the 2 new armors, Sinister and Justice are bugged on the chest and leg option. You can chose 2 colors but only the primary color shows up. It is working fine for the boots, gloves, and shouldes though.

Well, if you have SS and are a badge hunter, the Jump Jet is just what you need to get those that only the Fly-boys could get previously.

Ideally, the tank will die precisely as everyone else starts fighting, allowing aggro to be spread evenly among the blaster. -seebs, "How to Suck at CoH/CoV" Guide

They work fine for me. Make sure you select the matching pattern as well, or you won't get the dual coloring.

I have a level 40 Corruptor that uses 3-slotted hover for normal movement at all times. So, yeah, I find moving at that speed to be useful. Especially before travel powers and SOs are available.

If you can select patterns for it, look and see if there's a pattern at the end of the list that matches the costume name and it should fix the problem.

Just click the left arrow on the patterns and and it will go straight to the end of the list.

I just wish the boots came in stiletto heels for female characters.
