The only hope we have for seeing this is the new NCSoft push to improve bases and pvp.


I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.

I just want the badge heh. no worries though. they pretty much HAVE to fix the IOP and put it in the game or risk being sued by thousands of players as the IOP is a feature printed on the box of GvE so it would be false advertising to drop it all together. technically they are in danger of being sued over it now.

they have however stated through issue 11 convos that the list of things they ARE working on includes IOP as well as the vill khelds and vill EATS. I think there was something else but cant remember.

Not sure if everyone is aware of it yet, but IoP's are active on Test right now. they only work in SG mode, and the buffs are great!

Lol go test it yourself, I'm not going to give you a screenshot. I have nothing to prove. Just want to let normal people know they can go try them out on test server. Many of them are probably already aware.

The IOP's have always worked when active, and have always required being in SG mode to work, the tiny little hitch is that while it's been possible to buy IOP's on test in the past, the only way to get access to them on the live servers is by running the CoP trial.

Unless the CoP trial is working on test there's nothing new or improved in your statement about IOP's.

Ah, my bad. Yeah, IOP's are sort of neat, they're basically like SG-wide set bonuses.

i should go find an SG with them to see what the current bonuses are. Initially they were quite low.

not going to happen till they fix high level pvp so it isnt an auto loose for anyone with defense.

In other words either fixing villian ppp's or nerfing hero's.

They are scared of nerfing hero's and dont see the investment in villians as worth it.

I cant confirm this but i suspect the problem is all the IOP's migrate to hero's in short order.


Boycott Ncsoft if they close down Coh.

The IoP buffs, even in Issue 6, were lame for the most part. IO set bonuses trump them now. I'm going to risk my base and millions of prestige over a 3 % damage bonus? No thanks.

I've been pondering just what a new IoP might offer that actually *would* be worth all the effort of making and maintaining a raid-worthy base, going through the CoP Trial (of which, I admit, I only had a fleeting glance) and fighting off the threat of invasion if someone should consider attacking your base to get it...

Cap has an excellent point, that set bonuses from IOs make the old concept of IoPs totally obsolete. It may be far-fetched, but something like the following options might make IoPs worthwhile:

- An IoP that increases the amount of Inf/Prestige earned by, say, 5% or more?
- An IoP that increases one's chances, even if only slightly, of getting more valuable drops when completing trials, etc. Posi recently posted raw data from the Pool C drops, proving that each recipe has exactly the same chance of dropping as every other recipe. Perhaps if the IoP in question made Numina Uniques, LotG 7.5%, and Miracle Uniques drop more frequently (changing their chance of dropping from 1:42 to 2:42)?
- An IoP that increases XP earned by a significant amount, say 10% or 20%.
- An IoP that removes travel power suppression. (I would TOTALLY go for this one!)
- An IoP that acts like an IO proc on a particular power type... without the IO being slotted. I love my Hold proc in my ranged attacks. Imagine if everyone in an SG had the same proc artificially applied to each of their ranged attacks without having to slot the corresponding IOs?

I don't know, I'm just throwing out random ideas here... but one thing's for sure. I don't expect any of these to be implemented in the game any time soon. In fact, the whole CoP/IoP thing has become synonymous with Duke Nukem Forever and Starcraft: Ghost. If you're holding your breath over them, you'll very likely pass out and die before you see any discernable progress made.

I do believe those sorts of IOps would be excellent for an SG. Ok granted some of them might be just a little over the top but... If you had a raid that was challenging enough then i would think it would make the whole point on spending millions for a totally decked out base acually worth it.

Bring IoP's that dont just buff then SG/VG, but do other cool effects like...

Teleport to any (x, y) location of any zone
Grant Yellow or Orange tag lines like how the devs sometimes grant during events
Grant "chance for Negative/energy/phyonic/lethal dammage" much like IO's do.
Grant status protection is still good
Increase prestige metric
Increase infamy metric
Increase XP metric
Grant Stamina

There are LOTS of things IoP's could do that would make having an awsome VG/SG would benefit from.

they took them away a long time ago, i dont think any sg's / vg's still have them. it would be super awsome if they DID and people had to raid to get them for their own sg/vg. let them keep it and once every 3 or 6 months bring the trial back
