BTW... I was the Thug MM dressed as a Longbow with the name "Longbow.".

The disguise saved my life a few times as heroes zoomed past me while I was unprepared for battle.

RV has one thing in which a MM can actually shine... controlling a captured pillbox and repelling invaders. A Pillbox is now my favorite pet.

*nods* Absolutely. And while the spiders may "help" by attacking/holding/etc, Longbow also heals, provides FFs and the like... like I mentioned, I'd run out of base and find one to follow 'til my health got near full. Finding a "patrol" of an empath and a force fielder was heaven...

So in light of Recluse's Victory, the I-7 Stalkers, Brutes, and Masterminds, why don't Blasters get Status Resist powers or Defense? Or just more damage maybe. These 3 AT's can out-damage a Blaster, may have great ranged attacks and all of them get the chance at least for Status Resists and Defensive sets. As I said before, 80 feet of Range is not a Defense in PvP.

I'm sorry but if the lowsey heals in the hospital is the way it's supposted to be in Recluse's Victory, I have to say I'm dissapointed. Any where else we get full heals. Except of course in bases where they only have the basic medical teleporter untill Sg earns the prestige & badge to build the improvements. I feel very strongly that Recluse's Victory should be the same as any other Standard hospital Teleport. If the developers are planning to make all hospitals like the ones in R.V. I'll be more then dissapointed. Debt is the most penalty we should get from death & having to go to hospital.

Here's a better suggestion for you.... play it live on your own server.
Here's another one....ask the devs to set up a PvP only server that you can copy characters to.

Actually I kind of like it for the pvp zones. So if you defeat someone they're actually out of the fight for 20s while they use Rest instead of hitting the hospital and being right back in the fight almost instantly.

I do PvP on my own server, but I doubt any server puts up the numbers that this event does.

As for a PvP server, the limited time makes this so much more special. Everyone wants to jump in the action. A dedicated PvP server would dwindle down to just the "Hardcore PvP'ers" eventually. This server wipe and limited time allows everyone to have an equal footing.

This may seem like a stupid question, but here goes:

If all of the toons on test got erased recently, and the character copy tool is down because of the RV event, how am I supposed to test the event in a lvl 40+ zone??

Am I a couple cans short of a sixpack here?

Create new toon, talk to person infront of you , get enough xp from said person to be level 40 and six million influance/infamy. Find leveler person(s), level to 40. go to enhancement person... buy enhancements.... go into pvp... and hope you don't get ate.

... which also makes the timer, um... pointless.

If that gets changed in other zones, I'm not going to bother any more, since your choice will be "run with 1 HP and find a place to hide and heal" (having someone follow you,) "Find an empath" or "run out of base, get killed, then stand in the base while your natural regen rate slowly heals you."

Cricket was playing a hero, Evil Arctic Sun was villain side. I think Cricket was an illusion controller but I'm not completely sure. Arctic Sun I only saw inside a pillbox.

I ended up in their instance by chance originally, and was pleasantly surprised! Cricket's speed buffs rule.

Something like Guild Wars would rock. A lvl 40 or so, heck maybe a 50 that you can only go to PvP zones or arena with. Would be cool.

I played Hero side, and I tried an Inv/Axe build, and an NRG/NRG Blaster.

The Axe Tanker did poorly. The night I went on, it seems the villains were all testing the high-level Elec Brutes and Thug MMs. With the rampant Energy damage from Electric Melee flying around, combined with Inv's low Energy Resistance means I didn't last too terribly long. Axe is all lethal damage, and since everyone and their brother has S/L resists, Axe does pretty lame damage.

The Energy^2 Blaster did much better: Energy damage was a godsend, as I could actually do damage. I spent a lot of time flying around Sniper Blasting people... Anyone who TP Foe'd me was met with Nova. BOOM!

I now know what Gang War is designed to do. Swarm a Player with so much crap their computer stalls, ensuring an immobile, inactive target.

Has anyone brought up the fact that a team can destroy all the turrets defending a pillbox, then have a stealthed/Elude/MoG'd character come in and capture it without doing any work?

If all you want is some lame special event where everyone has "equal footing" then the develpers could easily set up a pvp only server that anyone can copy to and be insta leveled to whatever level x zone is. Unlimited free respecs basically. If it ends up being only hardcore pvp'ers then they have proven the point that it doesn't excite most of the PvE population. They could even wipe that server every other week, not that it would be needed.

There is nothing special about this event. Log in, build crappy/great character get owned/own people, get mapserverd or lagged out due to all the graphics and way too many people on a server not optimized for it. what fun!

How about teleporting the turrets of a captured pillbox inside your own base, making it impossible for the opposing side to "defeat all defenders" and recapture the pillbox? That's a rather bad exploit, I think. And if those turrets I saw inside the base weren't teleported there then the bug where the turrets follow a defeated hero to the hospital is still around.

RV has shown me that Soul Transfer can be useful in PvP.
Useful as in completely destroying Masterminds and their pets all at once.

I have to say this is pretty fun. It takes the hours spent envisioning builds with hero planner and lets you actually try them out at a very high level.

I would not enjoy a pvp server than let you do this all the time though. I don't feel any connection to the toons I am building. I haven't suffered through the ups and downs to hone the toon into a destructive force. I even build a spines/regen scrapper very similar to the one I have on live (but included mog to give it a whirl) and I just didn't like him as much as MY scrapper.

None the less, wicked event. Wish they had put in a inspiration vendor that sold at least bfs, maybe greens too, but they don't matter as much.

I have a number of squishy builds I would love to try out but the mez-fest is too much for me to handle. I tried a mind/rad but only scored a couple kills as it was usually an insta-mez followed by death shortly after.

I would zone to the arena/pocket d, but the zoning is taking upwards of 5 mins when the server is busy. Just put in a bf vendor during the event then I would be

Aka - the Test Server? With the Character Copy Tool, you can already do this.

I think the Test Server is a nice place for RV'ers to congregate, esp. if they're L50's. But it's a shame for them to not be able to hook up on live.

That being said - and because I know doodeley squadoosh about computer stuff - I don't understand why you can't transfer characters across live servers. Can go Server-Of-Choice to Test, why not Server-of-Choice to Server-my-new-friend-Plays-on-and-I'm-NOT-Rerolling-AGAIN.

It *is* that way in the other zones.

However, with 1 SO recharge in rest, you will be out in the field long enough for it to recharge back. Plus, all of the zones have a door to the hospital portion of the base, so you will be unmangled during the time you rest.
