  1. You lost me as a customer forever NC Soft and I think the same can be said for many of my fellow CoH players from the past 8 years. I will never buy anything you are involved with.
  2. Well, you know what they say.

If at first you don't succeed, try harder.

City of Heroes has too many players to be shut down. Perhaps it needs a City of Heroes 2 tie in? There is nothing wrong with the CoH concept, players love that. I think all that's needed is an all new reboot/modernization to go along with CoH, maybe somehow tie the two together like an alternate universe where a PC from CoH might emerge in CoH 2 somehow.
  3. Devices offer some nice Defiance buffs Trip Mine 26% Time Bomb 52% for 15 seconds. I always take them both and slot 6 Obliteration which grant some nice buffs.

Boosting Regen and Damage work well for Dev blasters who usually prolong battles with Caltrops, stuns, etc. Also AR is the cone attack monster so Range extenders pay off well. I have a level 50 AR/NRG with Boost Range and Centriole in most attacks. Ever see what Full Auto can do at 175 foot range?

I do have an AR/Dev at 40 though. Because of Targeting Drone he gets the most out of the Temp Powers which become very accurate. Stun Grenades, Frag Grenades, Hold Grenades, Gabriel's Hammer for those melee moments.

Hint: Always drop a Trip Mine at your feet for the Defiance Buff, a mob might step on it too. It's not Build-Up or 6-slotting damage SO's like before ED, but it does help.
  4. Not sure why yet, but it only happens with CoH and no other game. Graphics are suddenly lagging at lower FPS even with some settings lowered. Game will run for 20-30 minutes then crash. Crash can be a freeze that requires a reboot. A CTD with message that CoH stopped responding. Or the computer shuts down.

System is good. Windows 7 Pro 64bit, 8GB Ram, AMD6770 2GB. So way over the maximum memory CoH would require. 400 GB free HD space too.

Could be a hardware issue, but only happens when running CoH so unlikely.
  5. I found that out. Been awhile since I logged on my incarnate character. Trying the new powersets and stuff.
  6. It was a question on the player survey. Do you play team Incarnate or solo or both? What are the solo Incarnate Trials or how are they identified?
  7. Only happening on one character who uses the Sprint Power Rush in conjunction with the Body-Combat Bio-Plasma Aura. AMD 6770 Radeon-2GB. Also, it wasn't happening 3 weeks ago.
  8. For Blasters; Devices (no Build-Up), Energy (Boost Range, Power Boost), or Ice. Beam Rifle does excellent damage to most mob types, but has very little damage mitigation so that has to come from your secondary powerset. Disintegration Spread is a powerful AoE effect, but only the sniper attack guarentees that the Disintegration Effect will spread.

Corruptors and Defenders; You could really pick any powerset. Time would be very good since it gives Beam Rifle's Disintegration time to work.
  9. Adding alternate powers to existing Powersets would add alot of replayability and uniqueness to player characters. Everybody's AR Blaster or Invulnerable Tank would no longer be roughly identical as they are now.

These Alternate powers could be tied to Task/Strike Force rewards or just added to the powersets now and then. It would be an interesting way to refresh old AT's.

This idea has been mentioned over the years, but it would be a good fit in the current version of City of Heroes-Freedom.
  10. Does taking any portion of the Crab Spider tree still force the crab-back pack costume onto your character? Could you take the Crab defensive powers only and avoid this?

Someone said once that the Crab-leg costume persisted after a respec to Bane. Is this true?

Thanks. They are always changing things and I don't know the current rules for this.
  11. An Energy Hammer for War Mace. Nothing too fancy or oversized. Just something to go with the Element/Energy Shield.

Probably been asked for already, but still needed for RP-ing science and tech origin characters.
  12. Keep them as they are, maybe lower the Endurance time-out period, but not at the cost of lowering anything else in compensation.

    Brilliant!

Well, you could also be saying any number of things, but one word doesn't give a ton to go on so I'm going to interpret it as you saying that.
Yes, Acrobatics. By the time you get there you have some protection to all but Sleep and Stun.

You want making a Tankmage to be easy? I have no problems with mezzing on my Blasters. If they didn't get mezzed occasionally the game would be no challenge and thus, no fun.

All Blaster powersets, except Archery, get pretty good damage and mez mitigation from secondary effects like slows, knockback, holds. After that it's up to the player to play in a way they defeat the Boss quickly with those secondary effects well-timed to keep the Boss off-balanced. I dunno what they were thinking about with Archery getting no secondary effects and still being able to work, but maybe they will fix that one day.
  14. After all this time and all these new powersets added, Blasters are still on the short end for the number of Secondaries available (7) and even worse, the variety of gameplay styles they bring.

Most Blaster Secondaries are just thematic variations of a single group of powers. Devices and maybe Mental Manipulation actually offer different styles of gameplay. I look at Melee AT and Control/Support AT Secondaries and quite often the Secondary powerset completely changes the the game experience. That's something any new Blaster Secondary should be focused on. Like Devices differs from Energy Manipulation, for instance.

One thing I would like to see is a Secondary powerset that supports the weaknesses of Archery. Archery lacks secondary effect damage mitigation. Nice to have a little bonus base Accuracy, but does little to stop any incoming damage like other Blaster sets can. An Archery secondary would feature kick attacks with knockback and one high damage PBAoE kick attack with KB, stealthy stuff, Smokebomb, Boost Range, but things that any weapon using Blaster would also benefit from.

Anyway, I would like to see new Blaster Secondaries that expand the gameplay styles open to Blasters like they do for other AT's. Have the new Secondaries make playing a Blaster an almost new experience.
  15. It's almost that time of year, although there is never a set date for Double XP weekend. Any word?
  16. In that regard I remember my Assault Rifle blaster having different animations while airborne and Katana and bladed attacks having two ways of animating Brawl.

It would take some coding, and while not a big deal, adding a Footstomp animation to at least Dwarf-form would add alot to character RP and novelty. It would just require a check on, "is PC on ground? true/false". True equals Footstomp, False equals Handclap.
  17. I always thought the best effect of the Peacebringer Dwarf was the Footstomp animation from White Dwarf Flare.

Would it be possible to have the new Flare use the old Flare footstomp animation when standing on the ground?

I agree with this simply because, as the game mechanics are currently set up, Kheldians will get very few of the very impressive benefits granted by 4th, 5th, and especially 6th IO from IO sets.

I am not having any problems with my Peacebringer in PVE, but I am not using the flying space amoeba (Nova). If I add the Amoeba it's either worthless or makes the other two forms worthless and with about nothing from IO sets.
  19. Even after almost 8 years... I can't get no respect.
  20. On second thought leave everything just the way it is. I retract my suggestion. And the squid does fine, or did anyway. I haven't had the slots to spare for the squid in years.

    The Peacebringer is perfect!
  21. Then this really would be just a quality of life improvement. A way to try to battle on in human-form. Scrappy fighter.
  22. The small improvement would be to have Reform Essence also grant a 10 second Break Free effect. All this would do is keep your PB from faceplanting the first time a Boss mezzes it. It's not mez resistance or an instant win. It's really just a second chance that fades after ten seconds. It's something that a weak Blaster, half-Scrapper should logically have since PB-human-form combat is almost always melee, where a mez is usually the end of the battle vs a Boss and some Lts.

Of course I have adjusted to carrying a tray-full of Break-Frees, as most players do, so giving Reform Essence a 10 second Break Free effect is more of a quality of life improvement.
  23. edited;

I had been away from my Peacebringer since they fixed some problems. Now I would say start with Human-Nova until you get to Dwarf, then respec to either Nova-Dwarf or Human-Dwarf until you get to level 45 or so, then decide if you want to go Tri-Form. If you go Tri-Form you will not be able to get many of the great benefits from full IO set's 4th, 5th, and 6th, enhancements. If you plan on doing IO's.
  24. Nothing.

Yes, "Nothing", won't fix Khelds, so I suggest continue doing nothing.
