Does Crab Spider still force the Crab-leg Costume?

Does taking any portion of the Crab Spider tree still force the crab-back pack costume onto your character? Could you take the Crab defensive powers only and avoid this?

Someone said once that the Crab-leg costume persisted after a respec to Bane. Is this true?

Thanks. They are always changing things and I don't know the current rules for this.

having any crab powers on any build will force you to have the crab backpack, however if you do not have any crab powers then you will not be forced to have the backpack

I think:

respcing to Bane gets rid of the crab legs

but dual-spec Bane and you still have the crab legs as a Bane

if you pick crab power and try to respec back to bane.. you will still have the legs.. once you have the legs you will always have the legs.. i just built a whole new Soa When i made my bane.. and when im respecing im just careful not to pick any crab stuff.

Not true. If you respec out of crab, and you don't have ANY crab stuff in ANY build, then they go.

Did you do this personally or been told this?
I tried to get rid of my backpack a while ago and it didn't work.

Absolutely sure. Did that back and forth a few times already.
You have to respec out EVERY single crab power in EVERY build.

if you still want a crab and want to *temporarily* remove the backpack

go to tailor and using one of the costume slots thats not the first slot, and load a saved costume that does not have the pack, do not make any changes to the costume and then finish the tailor, when you change to this slot it should not have any crab legs, however it will revert upon zoning, so if you have 2 costume slots you could just alternate between them when you zone

there was a thread about this, but it was from like a year or 2 ago, dont know if i could find it

New backpack query? is it possible to make a backpack that DOESN'T have the arachnos logo on it?(besides a 100% red backpack). I want to have a reformed crab that threw off all the brainwashing, and I can't see the toon keeping the SoA decals

You cannot get rid of the arachnos logo on the backpack. It's not just colored, it's actually molded into the pack. The ability to have a backpack without it has been requested.

now I have OFFICIALLY given up on my oh-so-awesome crab spider. any time a game is insome massive way based on a specific feature(like looking good with an amazing amount of customization), and then completely removes that feature(like..ugly red crab mark), I'm saddened.
eh. least my fortuna is mad fun :P
