  1. I'd like to see the new carnival of light maces(the ones that unlock with paragon points) be ported over to arachnos spiders.

Coolness...Now, because I'm DISGUSTINGLY derp and don't have the capibility to really build this at work, is the 123% pre-hasten, or post-hasten?
    Also, what's like..honest, un-aided perma-hasten again?
It'll KILL me if the build I focus on is off by like..2% or something. I can fully expect to be ensuring my Dom ATO is the 50 attuned version/getting a nice purple set/trying to sneak in as many basilisk's gazes as possible/muling my fifth luck at 49. Infact, I'm embracing that

But having to sacrifice S/L/E/N defence cuz I was off by a lil bit on the recharge, and have to scramble to make it up? TRAMATIC!

P.S. if I have 5 LOTG globals scattered in the build, and they provide a constant 7.5x5, and I can fit in 2 4piece basilisk's gaze, and those BONUSES provide 7.5% recharge, do the basilisk's gaze's hit the rule of 5? I've never had to focus a build SO explicitly on global recharge before ><
  3. On the (semi) related subject of the astral/empyrean merit-bought auras, are there any videos out there that are just a log of all the really expensive auras? I have spare merits, and I'd rather LOOK cool than be cool ><
  4. BrokenFace

    Domiqueries

Coolness. I think I'mma look at a dom now.

Now I just need to labor over a concept that's gonna boil down to "technomagical rocks all over me", spend hours tormenting myself on a name, and focus on the ultimate mids build ><

The other alternative? Elec/SomethingWithASnipe/?, plan on having ALL the toggles. Ever....and lots of snipes

P.S. what's the breakpoint for permadom?
  5. Eh, if we're discussing natural control, I've always wanted to see a gadgets style troller set. web grenades, emp grenades, knockout gas grenades, bolos, a CC turret that shoots like..beanbags(knocking em down and such) at 26, and a modified version of a previously existing bots pet at 32. Patch together a "natural" set out of the art of /traps, /dev, /bots and maaaybe some of the art from blaster munitions.
...Really, I wanna have a set that's basically "control from the barrel of a space gun"

Either way, it'd reduce the amount of work they needed to do(compared to making the set whole cloth), and maximize the awesome.
  6. BrokenFace

    Domiqueries

Hey, I'm on this "I wanna make like...six disgustingly cool characters, then just exemplar em down" kick. I *WAS* rocking a beautiful troller, and honestly, eventually, I'll be returning to him, but as it stands right now, I had this DEVESTATING realization that I can't EVER hold anything on BaF, And I'd never be able to hold an AV ><, and after a point, my secondary just fills me with sorrow ><

so..since I still love controlling, I'm gonna try my hands on a dom(also, I'm a huge fan of builds with that one crazycool goal. Permadom counts for a GOAL. Like able stack multiple tornados or something else cool")

so the questions go as such
    1. Is there anything I can CC as a dom that I couldn't as a troller?
    2. What are the most survivable dom primary/secondary combos?
    3. Is there anything that goes disgustingly well with ice/ or earth/ ? I need to make A character that's based on the elemental order back and gloves and shoulders.
    4. are there any major troller/dom differences besides "you want permadom"?
  7. BrokenFace

    Dark Control

if you're a sub, go the NCSoft launcher
there's a list of additional games you can download offa the launcher.
One is called "City of Heroes BETA"
download that, and now you have a beta client
  8. BrokenFace

    Filling Psy hole

I have NO opinion on a gaping spot in defences. I tend to play a plant/dark controller. Funny how mobs don't hit back WHILE I have decent defenses against psychic-ness :P
  9. BrokenFace

    /Time

Local Man hooked me up with a build for an ill/time troller once
It was so good that I wasn't even able to PLAY him; He was so OP that there was no longer a fear of death in a videon game :P Local Man turned CoX into Braid :P
  10. wait! shoulda mentioned: I have a "buying heroes/villains packs" problem, so I have many, MANY, MANY reward merits.
so really, I'm only focusing on purps, and the gladiator's armor, since they're the tricky pieces
  11. 1. Spiral, I'mma fascinated with your build.
    2. so...positionals is harder to hit than S/L/E/N. coolness/ty for the knowledge
    3. Will Kick/Boxing trigger redraw?
    4. if I focus on the gladiator's armor first, purples second, will my build suffer for having sirroco's in whirling smash?
    5. So are fire and cold rarely used?

    6. Vector question: how is stuff determined if it's melee or not. is it a "only attacks with a punching animation are melee", or is it a "I can CHARGE IN and their attacks default to melee"?

P.S. Ty for all the aid everyibe L(
  12. heh. /beggin for help then

also...can I get a link to a good explination of how resistance to def debuffs work? I gotta feeling I'm eventually gonna make an ice/X tank, and I'd <3 to know I still rock the casbah as a def tank.

edit: gonna drop LBE, grab tactics, 4slotting adjusted targeting, adding kismet sofar for more connecting hittyness

and does /auctionhouse work in iTrials/TFs?
  13. New list of why tanking rocks
    1. I sofar have gotten applauded for CHARGING LIKE AN ADD MONKEY. I don't get that as a troller.

    2. I'm coming over here from a WoW background, so I wanna contextaulize this stuff WoW-y. I think sofar the reason tanking here is awesome is because the CCingis all ACTIVE and happens DURING combat, not pre-combat. the "When CC happens" phase determiness how fun tanking is for me. That, and the "when aggro is made" bit

    so..TLR, sofar, I LOVE tankings
  14. Alright, here's the dealio.
I tried to make a tasty, tasty staff/elec brute. I then ran into HORRIFYING realization that TW's awesome mace-y-electricy-doomball just looks cooler than a knife on a stick.
I'm trying to build up a sufficiently AWESOME Elec/TW tanker. I want to be amazing and defcapped and stuff, and I keep just running into the difficulty of this being my first TANKER. I've build plenty of trollers, a handful of corruptors, and one amazingly fun fortunata, but I want to start tanking, and I hate to admit that I'm just missing elec def-capping knowledge.

As it stands, I'm short 3 to all positionals, and an additional 3 to ranged. I'm like....admitting that I'll eventually have to farm up the gladiator's +3% defence, but I'll still have a ranged hole.

    1. Is there any easy way to get to def-cap that I'm missing?
    2. Could some brilliant elec/TW god of builds please look at my soon-to-be-made god of crackly, electricy violence? I wanna start solving problems via hitting and such, and I'm just coming up a 'lil short. (I do realize I have 3 slots un-placed atm, but..can't get 6 def from 3 slots, so...I dun see the purpose atm ><)

    EDIT:::HOLY GOATS! Defensive sweep's def buff stacks with ITSELF? that's AMAZING! that's like..a 30% defense buff pre-IOs!.

...the more I play "giant hitty stick electric samurai", the more I start giggling with glee. I can DEFINITLY see a crazy indie-techno group writing a song about electric samurai's defending the world :P

The ONLY way I could be happier is if there was like..a "headbutt" animation in addition to the kick attack.
  15. Ok, could I get a list of what secondary effects are bein added to DP? I've had a lowbie DP/dark toon competin with my ER/Dark toon for my eventual "ranged, non-SoA" individual
  16. I think you mean to say "That build above has an permahasten, and a very snazzy ST attack chain, and the ability to roll 3 deep with 3 permapets" :P
  17. Ancillilary/hijackin the thread plant/dark question:
I saw that you can put the achilles proc in venus flytrap. Would that proc go off enough that it would boost overall dps between you and the trap more than it would if I tossed in an acc/dam IO?
How many DPS-ers would it take before the proc was a noticable damage boost?
  18. Heh. I'll write something more indepth in like..six hours when I get back from work

Disclaimers:I'm still fairly nub to CoX as well, but I feel that seting up a working, awesome controller that others initially built for me has shown me enough about the logics of CoX that I'm not totally failsauce
Furethermore, I'm rocking a Plant/Dark as well atm, and utterly loving what feels like the most...controlly controller ever(HORRIBLE phrasing, But.....The flytrap controls. the Servant controls. You control. There's a lot of control between the two sets :P)

So..leaping straight into the nitty gritty
    1. You have 3 slots in health, with 2 procs, and 1 non-awesome Numina's Convalescence:Heal. If you remove the numconheal, and add that slot to stamina, and put in a performance modifier, chance for +end there, you WILL be happier

    2. You can put like..four damage procs in carrion creepers, and then just be like "lol. I tied a chainsaw to a tree, and planted it in the ground. lulz"

    3. Honestly, when you look at all the other position-based control you'll have available to you+the healing and defense dark provides you, I'd definitely toss spirit tree. At lower levels, I'd prefer another hold, and at higher levels, I'd just want more slots for other powers. It's like the song says "Anything Dark Servant Does, Spirit Tree either ignores, or does worse." So...drop spirit tree, get one of many cooler abilites.

    4. There's a distinct lack of both ATOs and slotting in your holds. I'd recommend focusin a little on "being able to hold like a ****" :P

    5. Actually, if I'm willing to insult YOUR build, I should most definitively post mine up as well. Goose/Gander Corrolary an all that

But seriously, if you're willing to spend 100mill+ for each coercive confusion part, you should definitely toss on the ATO, then just save up to upgrade it later. you're legally obligated to LOVE 5% ranged defense, 10% recharge, and that hilarious 8-or-4% more to each form of control, depending on control type line :P

There need to be more bonus lines that say "huge piles of buffs. for ALL holds. But We gotta spell out each one".

But..yeah. my build is .5 seconds away from permahasten, and I'm debating getting an alpha with a recharge bonus for that .5 seconds

or going ENTIRELY purple. For that last .5s hasten time :P

either way, madness is in my future

  19. Ty man. This is my first tanky build, I know my 'troller build is solid, and honestly, I just want like..3ish amazing toons that I exemp down for taskforces.

.....uugh. now I'm debating having this toon just be a flatout TANKER, cuz he'll always be rocking teams
  20. Anyone got a non-SOA with scorpion PPP out there? Iffen so, couldja check to see if you can transform YOUR scorpion maces?
  21. Hey y'alls. Silly Bane (heck...spiders in general) question: Have the devs ever mentioned making weapon customizations possible with costume pieces OUTSIDE of tier 9 maces? I'd really like to change from a mauly deathmace, but I'm still 100+ away from tier 9. Over my time in CoX, I have bought both the carnival of lights, and the barbarian weapon packs in moments of weakness.

I'd really like to use em some day...

so..TL: DR, have the devs ever mentioned character customization for EATS?
  22. so..I was bored, and building a weee bit, ended up with this

leanin pretty close to softcap, and except for the gladiator piece, it's all pretty close to within my budget atm
  23. lolwhut? slotted guarded spin brings me to melee softcap? I'll depend on a 13 second buff? Silly Cheese is basically my entire jam. Signin up for staff/elec named Joltstrike, and I plan on leveraging legit psychic resistance into just DEVASTATING Carnies like they insulted my mother
  24. additional stuff.
    1. I saw em at the wharton center. I win

    and questions
    5. Assuming I was willing to like..coherently farm hero merits(I have many ill/X trollers. Ill/x trollers tear through the 1st story arc like crazyness) for IOs, and was willin to spend like...500 million(not counting the brute ATO. For the brute ATO, I'mma just convert kheldian ATOs) to cover the ato gaps, are there any major reasons to go tanker over brute?

    6. How much typed resistance or defense do you need of a certain flavor to be..noticable? like...if one more piece of the set gets me .7% fire res, is that worth a slot? 1.2%, 1.2% def? How much total defense/resistance to a type do I need before it matters?
